Lots of little fixes can result in a big improvement
By Ruarí Ødegaardruario. Wednesday, May 12, 2010 9:15:23 AM

This snapshot is particularly good news for our FreeBSD and Linux users, since it includes fixes to a number of irritating issues. We'd encourage *nix users to scan through the change log below. We have also made builds available on Windows and Mac. Whilst not much has changes for you guys there is a cross platform fix on mail, so if you were experiencing mail crashes this might be a good build to test.
With regards to bigger outstanding issues on UNIX (Plugin performance improvements [including Java], IME, fixes to fonts), these issues are being worked on, however we still need more time before we can share with you the fruits of our labour. Thanks for your patience!
Remember to keep comments relevant, descriptive and brief, and avoid repetition of issues that have alread been reported. Your comments may be removed if they are off-topic.

it's probably improper rendering of fonts rather than broken fonts. In the image below, the web page is shown in firefox (right) and opera(left).

This is *so* annoying. Clean Windows 7 install.
Example: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/10/flashplayer_10_sa_debug.exe (paste into the address bar)
Other issue: one of the downloaded executables was saved as .html file (I pressed "save", choose a folder and pressed Enter. I typed no file extension, so it is Opera's fault).
Thanks!

Looking at the source, Zoquete is incorrect:
They've clearly used the correct MIME-type for the object.
I can only think that someone's got the conditional comments a bit messed up...

edit: on closer inspection, these get created all the time, but most of them are deleted. still - and this happens more and more frequent - some of them are not.
also, opera sometimes won't quit until I activate the window or move the mouse over it.

I have a fresh install of Win7 and Opera (the OS is barely a day old). Why would I have this issue? Could it be an installer issue? I didn't upgrade, just installed latest snapshot, *.msi version.
Thanks!

After upgrading my opera 10.53 to the newest version (10.54 build 3390) images in speed dial got stretched. Is it some kind of bug or I have to change resolutions of logo images (currently 256x150 - 265x60 thumbnails)?

I've just came across a strange bug.
- I've only seen the half of my installed widgets on the sidepanel
- one element is usually 2 lines high, and I've cannot select the widget by clicking on the second line (the one contains the name of the author)
- switched back to standard skin, yet the problem remained
- now, here's the turn: I accidentally performed a backflip on the sidebar, and the problem was gone!
Unfortunately, now I don't really know how to reproduce the problem...

So, could this be my problem as well?
Please help so I can help all the people I have converted to Opera over the years.
Thanks in advance

I have never seen Opera get slower when the firewall is not letting that traffic through.
I would say start with the two basics I gave in the above and see what they bring you in the longer run.

Can u plz implement something in the next final Opera-Version (which would be 10.54 I assume)? That would be 4 Windows 7...
When u play a video e.g. @ YouTube it never shows me a real-time preview of the video in the superbar. The window with the vid running doesn't show any preview @ all. Hope you guys can fix that. Google Chrome & Firefox e.g. do it real-time, otherwise Opera's the best!
