I kindly request those "good reasons", I would definitely love to hear them. I'm fairly sure UserJS (especially on https) poses more potential security threats than a (not editable from JS!) silly inputbox.

I'll check if there's a bug report on this problem.

The tooltips on the tabs now only display the title, but do not display the url address. I would like to know how can I modify it to display the full url address on the tooltips again.

That's not possible anymore, the old-style tooltip with four lines of info on title/url/mime-type/encoding has been removed.

Is there any possibility of pasting clipboard data (e.g. imagesor files) into the file input field would be implemented? Or drag-and-drop, perhaps?

Not in 10.6 at least. It's not my field, but copying clipboard data as a file there doesn't seem like a very good idea to me. Drag and drop might be nice for those who don't keep their browser maximized.

please some one tell me that right click on highlighted word will pop up menu and "Copy" will be 1st option. I use copy like that ALL the time and I love it...

I think the most people the "Search" and "Search with" use more than Copy (They use the Ctrl+C).

But you can make a custom menu: Ctrl+F12->Advanced->Toolbars->Duplicate the "Opera Standard" menu and paste this in your custom menu ini (That is located in your default Opera profile directory Opera\Opera\menu\standard_menu(1).ini):

[Hotclick Popup Menu] Item, MI_IDM_DOCCOPY = Copy Item, M_COPY_TO_NOTE = Copy to note Platform Win2000-Unix-Mac-QNX, Feature Voice, Item, M_HOTCLICK_MENU_ITEM_SPEAK = Speak selection --------------------1 Item, MI_IDM_SELSEARCH = Hotclick search, 200,,, "Search Web" Submenu, MI_IDM_SEARCH_DUMMY_PARENT, Internal Search With --------------------2 Item, MI_IDM_SELDICTIONARY = Hotclick search, 50 Item, MI_IDM_SELENCYCLOPED = Hotclick search, 51 --------------------3 Submenu, MI_IDM_SELTRANSLATE_EN_FR_PARENT, Translate menu --------------------4 Item, M_HOTCLICK_POPUP_MENU_GOTO_URL = Go to page, "%t" Item, MI_IDM_SELMAIL = Send text in mail

If you're done, you have to select your new menu (Default name: Copy of Opera Standard) at Ctrl+F12->Advanced->Toolbars->Menu and press Ok.

Goodness, the CPU / memory hogging under OS-X (10.6.3 here) is worse than that of any snapshot before and even more horrible than that of 10.53 final...

The Opera ASA press release statement "Performance: Do not let your browser slow you down. The world’s fastest browser again storms ahead of its predecessor, boasting a 50% faster online experience as compared to the previous version." is a preposterous claim that a credible company would not make, sorry to say.

The following bugs are still there, too:
DSK-300567
DSK-300747

Guiot SidneyFirefly74940 Thursday, June 17, 2010 7:44:25 PM

Really Guys, your so powerful so fast release !!!

But ( 'cause there is a but ^^ )
Still crashing on http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utf8 (only french page)
tabs preview are not centered ( or really strangely) :
http://moe.mabul.org/up/moe/2010/06/17/img-214054sn3dz.png

still 95% for office online new document

André Luís M. Santosandrelmsantos Thursday, June 17, 2010 8:12:58 PM

There's a problem when hovering the mouse cursor on the tabs thumbnails:

http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/723/screen1we.png
http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/4639/screen2jk.png

Instead of showing correctly the contents of the open tabs, it overlaps one tab over the others...

Here: Win 7 x64, clean install. Opera 10.60 Beta B3422.

There were no options at all. I clicked the 'Yes' for the UAC, and the Windows Installer took over and never presented me with anything to click except 'Cancel'...

I tried running the installer several times to make sure that I wasn't going insane. No buttons to click, no options to select.

I presume from your avatar that you use Fedora linux?

Sorry, I'm having the issue on Windows 7 x64 using the MSI installer, which in retrospect is a stupid thing for me to have left out when complaining about the installer whistle (I usually have no trouble installing on Linux, until it comes to my CentOS server where there is a dependency issue that cannot be resolved). But you are quite correct that the avatar is Fedora's logo. wink

@klaudyuxxx: You're right at that when you say "i think you should keep your comments in russian just between you, by private messages!"

So here's a translation of what they said (so others can benefit from it):

AgentMC (7 June 2010, 13:21):
"Open Dragonfly, Storage tab, there remove 2 cookies (i guess that's what he meant by 2 кука):
__utma and __utmz
Everything will open"

Dim565 (7 June 2010, 13:29):
"So I hope this problem - so that it opens by default (and a lot more: not being able to add certificates, not working button with flash player and t.p) - will be fixed in the final (version)"

Дмитрий (7 June 2010, 13:37): (the name is Dmitrij by the way...)
A quote is here, I won't add it. That's the previous post from Dim565
"I too count on it a LOT!"

Only gripes I have are that in 10.6 doing a copy/paste by right clicking doesn't work...I have to use control-c, which is just a pain when using my netbook in my lap. Also yesterday or the day before the "open all folder items" in bookmarks just opens one of them....I have a folder I open daily with 10 items and having to go to each one singularly is a PITA, especially since even though I have set my prefs to open in new window, the bookmarks now seem to insist on opening all in the same one. II haven't changed anything, I was running 10.6 alpha, still the same in beta.

Just now checked...Opera beta 10.54 will still open me multiple bookmark pages in new windows with one click, so it isn't my machine.

Not 100% stable, but nothing is on Facebook, which is where I end up with crashes, 10.6a&b both do better than 10.53. All in all I like it.

Is server name completion back/fixed? Excuse me if this is a settled matter, but it's bugging me no end that Opera removed that excellent time saving feature.

It's probably a conscious decision to sacrifice user experience in favor of revenue from Google searches. I'm sure also Opera developers miss that feature when they use the software.

To quote Opera Software's Tor Odland: "Search revenue from our PC version is obviously important to Opera. We make decisions carefully on that matter."

At the time when the feature was still working, you could always turn it off.
(you still can, but doesn't really make much difference anymore as whether enabled or disabled, it doesn't work anymore).

Well, other companies tried similar things and history shows that it's _never_ a good idea to work against the users, even if you get a few more dollars in the beginning.

Yeah, the feature still works, you just need to add a '/'... Either that or hold 'Crtl' while pressing 'Enter' (if it's a .com domain)...

It would e.g. be a nice change to perform a one word search when SNA is disabled, and to use the old way to autocomplete when it's enabled.
We also have the search field, the speed dial search and other ways to perform a (one word) search.

Well, it's enough hassle for me personally to make this formerly appreciated feature unattractive.
Ctrl+Enter is not the same as SNA and much more limited (to .com).

I regret to say but I HATE the new menu button - using wrapped tabs it wastes sooo much space, it's almost half a tab wide with a massive void above it. Couldn't it be made to go tall and narrow if wrapped tabs are used?

With my screen size, the new extra menu button width means I now have a huge wasted area to the right as well since all the tabs no longer fit nicely as they did before.
