Always great to see the standard release progressing!

It would be better if new build of Opera 10.60 was released:)

+1 awww
But this release was needed. There were extremely severe issues fixed and they can't wait for 10.60 final to give security to these people.
And look, Mac users got a few fixes. smile

Salah EddineLonelyBoydz Monday, June 21, 2010 2:29:34 PM

Thanks. Waiting for the final 10.60 release.

JosemiJosemi16 Monday, June 21, 2010 2:32:57 PM

Cross your fingers and lets hope that a new snapshot will be released today.wink

Michelbudnyatski Monday, June 21, 2010 2:35:23 PM

Does latest snapshot build from 10.60 generation contain all security fixes that were released in 10.54?

SteveKong Monday, June 21, 2010 2:46:29 PM

MacOS 10.6.4, Intel, no admin rights

The auto updater didn't succeed for me. It claims to install 10.54 but in fact the .app isn't updated at all. Has anybody else problems with the updater on Mac and non-admin-users? (DSK ?)

newscpq Monday, June 21, 2010 2:48:59 PM

would you please release a new 10.60 build with the security issue implemented?

SerjSeRzH1911 Monday, June 21, 2010 2:55:06 PM

when the 10.60 version release? bigsmile

Александрavaddon66 Monday, June 21, 2010 2:55:37 PM

metude Monday, June 21, 2010 3:07:10 PM

Why are not you released with 10.6 Fixes?

Waiting for excellent final of 10.60. Opera's the best!

Galnospoke Monday, June 21, 2010 3:51:01 PM

10.54? Who cares.

QuHno Monday, June 21, 2010 4:11:25 PM

I, as long as I don't know if the 10.60 series is patched wink

LukeTS Monday, June 21, 2010 4:12:12 PM

The last 10.54 snapshot I tested, included a new background for speed dial. But with this release there is no standard background available. I even tried a clean install, but still no Background.
Anyone else with this Problem? Has the background been removed?

"Opera stealing window focus when displaying notification pop-ups"

Not fixed here.
Fixed in Opera 10.60 Beta though.

tboom Monday, June 21, 2010 5:22:15 PM

I have installed two versions of opera, on xp - the latest beta and 10.53.
One resides in c:\programs\Opera10 and the other in
c:\programs\Opera10beta.
The one which is default is 10.53 in c:\programms\Opera10.
When I try to change to 10.54 it's the beta which is (up)dated...
Is their any possibility to prevent the "10.60 beta" of being downgraded???

Hansapelle Monday, June 21, 2010 5:44:47 PM

Just scanned with the Secunia PSI and the current Opera 10.60 Beta assessment is: "Secure for browsing".
This is much better than IE8 and Firefox 3.6x which both are assest with at least 1 attack vector existing when using these browsers.

Kjell R. Jørstadjoerstad Monday, June 21, 2010 6:07:14 PM

Crashes like 10.52 and 10.53 did cry

OS X, 10.6.4 (Intel)

yes! the same here! Opera, please fix that!

novelgazer Monday, June 21, 2010 7:07:53 PM

If this is a security update, is the latest stable Linux at risk?

npo4 Monday, June 21, 2010 7:30:27 PM

to all people like me who lost their speed dial background, there are some nice ones on this page
http://www.favbrowser.com/10-great-opera-speed-dial-backgrounds/

the old one isn't here but there are some nice ones

Aleksandar Simovicviperaberus Monday, June 21, 2010 8:11:07 PM

facebook chat fixed! thanks smile

Charlie ClarkMuzzlehatch Monday, June 21, 2010 8:30:14 PM

Well done to Opera for continuing to release security updates (and the bugs are obviously pretty extreme) whilst feeding the geeks the latest releases - snapshots are not supposed for production as they remind us *every* time.

Still some way to go with 10.6 so I think I will go back to 10.54

missmeyet Monday, June 21, 2010 9:28:05 PM

Thanks for the security update; sounds dangerous, what with the "extremely severe issue" and its smaller, yet equally ugly sister "highly severe issue"...

Under Mac, however, no performance improvement; still hogging memory and CPU like crazy; expanding memory usage upon the closing of tabs; and lots of other issues.

My Windows installation runs just fine, but the whole 10.5x branch for Mac is seriously, SERIOUSLY jinxed. :-/

Mimi's Mum (MM)mimi_s_mum Monday, June 21, 2010 9:58:28 PM

When you run the installer, in the first dialogue, click the Option button at bottom left and check the target location is correct. Installers target the "most recent installation location", which may not be the default.

Confirmed. Opera shut down and the updater bounced in the dock, but I was never prompted to enter administrator credentials. The updater disappeared and Opera started back up. Version info is still 10.53.

For clarification, my user account is a standard user account, not an administrative one. I have the login and password for the administrator account, but the prompt never came up.

Will have to update manually, I suppose.

Is there a Classic installer available?

qwocoecotone Monday, June 21, 2010 10:27:19 PM

>>> Opera stealing window focus when displaying notification pop-ups

This is not fixed indeed...

Blacker47 Monday, June 21, 2010 10:38:12 PM

I don't belive Opera 10.10 for Linux has no known security holes, especialy these are detected for Windows and MacOS since 10.10.

Madars Monday, June 21, 2010 10:58:52 PM

Could Opera, please, fix the CSS history leak? Firefox just did: http://blog.mozilla.com/security/2010/03/31/plugging-the-css-history-leak/ .

Go here and click "Advanced Options", or directly here

Self-serving complaints about security releases taking precedence over new product releases ring fairly hollow and shallow.

Classic installer not available in "Advanced Options", only on FTP.

Probably because there isn't one in your language.

Going by the FTP, it's only in: en, fy, hi, ka, ru, ta, te, vi, zh-cn
And international (guess it doesn't default to that with "local=y")

Wade Tuesday, June 22, 2010 7:43:29 AM

feels great except when closing opera it becomes unresponsive (mac)

The 10.54 that was released now is just the 10.53 final code with a few security fixes added to it. The new work that you saw in the first 10.54 snapshots has been carried over in the 10.60 branch and is not part of this 10.54 release. If you install the latest 10.60 snapshots you'll keep the new background etc. And as mentioned in the comments here, the security issues have been fixed on the 10.60 branch as well.

Lucalucaviozzi Tuesday, June 22, 2010 9:26:31 AM

Cmon it's my birthday i need another snapshot as present!!! cheers

Blaz(ž) Pristavitalianjob44 Tuesday, June 22, 2010 9:43:26 AM

Downgrade was done from 10.60 to 10.54 by Auto update, tabs ware gone and reset toolbar did not helped, fresh run it fix the problems, OK my mistake.

Still no fully active preview over Windows 7 thumbnails, "Tab title or location stay the same, over switching to another tab".
There is no browser that can do that except the FF 4 alpha.

Aleksander AasAleksander Tuesday, June 22, 2010 9:44:32 AM

I've got some claims on Facebook that the jumping chat frame was fixed in 10.54 also smile

Benjamin Joffe Tuesday, June 22, 2010 11:15:01 AM

I got all excited when I read "Fixed MacBook trackpad scrolling speed".
I thought I would finally be able to ditch Safari and go back to Opera.
Alas, Opera still scrolls the page by integers of 20 pixels or so (with interpolated animation).

Dmitriy Kvasnikovfarmacevtua Tuesday, June 22, 2010 11:21:41 AM

I need a new build of Opera 10.60 and quickly!

rekkoo Tuesday, June 22, 2010 11:22:08 AM

Screen refreshing/displaying in Opera is so slow on older gfx cards (even with fast processor). Other browsers can display screen much faster. Even when opening opera with blank page I can see how page is drawing. Of course this is GFX card and lame GFX port problem too, but on other browsers or programs problem doesn't exist.

JosemiJosemi16 Tuesday, June 22, 2010 11:28:05 AM

4 days without build... sad

@ vectronic and asires, re: Classic build, advanced options.

I tried clicking advanced options yesterday, but at that time no Classic installer was available [in English or any other language], but today there is.

Maybe I'm blind, but all I find is:

Opera_1054_en_Setup.exe
Opera_1054_int_Setup.exe
both are MSI whistle
