Opera 10.60 RC1

This is a release candidate for 10.60 final on Windows, Mac and Linux/FreeBSD.

Remember to keep comments brief and to the point, but still descriptive and relevant. Try to avoid repeating things you have reported in the past, and allow other people's feedback to be heard as well. What we are mainly looking for is major new issues that we may not be aware of, such as recent (within the last few snapshots) regressions.

DSK-299616 still not fixed? (failure to fallback to ipv4 from DNS when ipv6 doesn't go through)

I have to use privoxy to get Opera to reach sites like http://lkml.org/ because of this. It also doesn't help that it returns the mysterious "Network problem" and/or "Internal communication error" pages when this happens. All the user sees is Opera can't connect to random sites, but Konqueror, Arora, Chromium, Firefox, and even Lynx can. Surely this doesn't help expand the user base worried

Awesome!! I can't wait until final version! n.n

Savageman Monday, June 28, 2010 3:40:01 PM

Thank you, the last build was already really stable!

I have a problem with DragonFly I forgot to mention (I don't use it that often). When I open it, it prevents JavaScript to run on the tab DragonFly is active. When I close the DragonFly, it works again, running the scripts that was "waiting".
Did someone already had this problem?

r13raphweng Monday, June 28, 2010 3:40:19 PM

Scrolling seems a little smoother, don't know why.

Love the stability of the build. (Others have great features in-line though, i.e. Built-in Flash/ PDF, Hardware acceleration, seperate processes for plugins,...)

vipin kumarmvk6 Monday, June 28, 2010 3:40:51 PM

Can I install this over beta or go for a fresh install?

Danieledarklink88 Monday, June 28, 2010 3:41:17 PM

Great! waiting for the final release hopefully before the end of the week!

I've noticed one thing. When 2 DIVs with position:absolute are put . One of them has element with outline: 1px solid silver. If I put one DIV above the one with outlined element... everything is covered except for outline.

You can install it over the beta

Martin KadlecBS-Harou Monday, June 28, 2010 3:45:25 PM

I think that only major issue are the missing buttons in starbar, when page is opened in background tab. Otherwise you are good to go! =)

It's not a problem. There's an option to stop script execution on error. You probably have javascript error somewhere on the page.

To turn off this option go to Scripts tab and turn off 6th button (hint says "Stop at error")

Am afraid I can't do that. But I'll make an example HTML...

genegold Monday, June 28, 2010 3:48:20 PM

Two problems in this and 3342, both occurring at the first visit to some sites in a session:

1) Back button takes 3-5 clicks to get the return. I've seen it happen especially at NY Times and perhaps yahoo.com. This doesn't repeat itself on the next visit in the same session.

2) at http://www.sportsscientists.com/, click on the comments at the end of a blog entry. Directly under the actual comment box (right) there's supposed to be security text. On first pass it's not loading, but instead showing the text, "Visual verification." Reloading gets it right.

I clear cache on exit.

mubaidr Monday, June 28, 2010 3:49:25 PM

Hoooraayyy .... lets hope for some performance + html5 improvements in next build!!! bigsmile yes no

Instant crash STILL on every page under www.expressz.hu, when you click the small pictures.

Lito Monday, June 28, 2010 4:00:06 PM

Go to this link: http://www.managerzone.com/?p=clubhouse

You should get redirected to the login screen but in Opera 10.60 you receive an "invalid URL" error message because Opera appends a colon at the end of the domain. Something like this http://www.managerzone.com:/?changesport=soccer&dlink=clubhouse

WinXP SP3

Ferrisferrisnox Monday, June 28, 2010 4:00:09 PM

I'm having small issues with Google Docs, spreadsheets. Inserting new rows, copy & pasting cells etc... this doesn't appear to be a new issue though most of the 10.6 has similar issues?

P4ajo Monday, June 28, 2010 4:04:59 PM

I'm still experiencing problems with http://slo-tech.com/ which does not display right.

It displays like http://bayimg.com/cANcAAacg instead of http://bayimg.com/CANCIaacg

Problem present on XP SP3 and ubuntu 10.4.

The same behavior in Gecko lateste trunk, Chromium 6, Safari 5, so I expect the behavior is correct.

Danieledarklink88 Monday, June 28, 2010 4:06:02 PM

don't know if it could be a bug, but html5 geolocation gives a wrong position (about 40-50 Km from where i am )
Mac osx 10.6.4

NRage Monday, June 28, 2010 4:07:00 PM

DSK-295130 (inline search steals focus when it automatically hides) still not fixed.
just do a inline search ('.'-key) then select the addressbar - when the "search window" automatically hides it will transfer focus to the web-page.

Appart from that it looks like its going to be a great release (finally).

edit: (using Windows7 64bit)

Zipampaa Monday, June 28, 2010 4:07:23 PM

When you place the tab bar to the left or to the right, Panels and Closes Tabs icons are superimposed.

Try another browser -> is the location same or not?

Still crashing when opening 'new version' google documents from docs.google.com (DSK-303229). The funny thing is that the crash is such that Opera doesn't even show the dialog about sending the data to the developers.

sacharja Monday, June 28, 2010 4:11:22 PM

Hm, was updating my latest snapshot and now Google is no longer working. Neither the search box nor the address (g search) is showing any hits on Google. Opera inserts the parameter "&num=0" although my config says: "Number Of Hits=50". However this is now just present in my INI. Number of Hits is no longer accessible through opera:config.

What a coincidence that this just happens now that Bing is the new standard search engine p

Nisarg Kumar JhaNaturalDisaster Monday, June 28, 2010 4:12:10 PM

A minor, unimportant bug. The search engines list shows the Bing icon both for Bing and Ask.com.

Good work guys.
Still waiting for DeviantArt ( http://www.deviantart.com/ ) to be working just fine (top line of results). I had some other bugs but they may be skin + Aero + going fullscreen-and-back (game) related so I won't post them before diagnosing without skin.

Firefox has bugs as well and set of great incompatible add-ons p I'm still using both + Chrome bug

- Hi, impossible for me to share my articles on my Facebook page.

Share button has no effect if the "exprimez-vous" area is empty (works fine on others browsers)

http://img4.glowfoto.com/images/2010/06/27-2328542240L.jpg

- When i click on mail icon in Windows Live Messenger and if opera is opened, the opened tab is private and i always need to enter username and password manually.

But if i click on mail icon in Windows Live Messenger when Opera is closed, there isn't problem, Opera is opening and the tab is normal and i don't have to login, i'm already logged.

Finally it's the same thing for all functions who open a link.

I had these problems with last official Opera release, then i tried this last beta build but i got the same problem, same with the RC :/

Opera for Windows

madcati Monday, June 28, 2010 4:32:26 PM

I have a problem with https://mojebanka.cz. This site allows me to login to my bank account management, but since last two or three builds Opera won't display the certificate/password fields. It worked fine in the first build that had Java support for Unix. It also works fine in other browsers. I'm on Arch 64. Attached pictures show correct behavior and the problem I have with Opera.
