Opera 10.70 snapshot with more desktop fixes

Yesterday's "10.70" (not necessarily the final version number) snapshot contained a new batch of Presto fixes and even web standards improvements. Today we're focusing more on the desktop side again.

But before I continue, I just have a quick note regarding the addition of object-fit and object-position from the CSS3 Paged Media Module properties in the previous 10.70 snapshot: These are currently only supported with the -o- prefix, but we recommend that you also add them without the prefix as well if you choose to use them on a page. It should also be noted that the specification may not yet have been updated to reflect that image-fit and image-postion have been renamed.

Returning to this snapshot, there are quite a few crash fixes, and we have improved the Add Bookmark dialog when you try to add a site that's already in your bookmarks by letting you change the folder, and adding a message letting you know what's going on.

For more information about the fixes in this snapshot, please take a look at the changelog.

WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Thanks for fixing 265492! However, the same problem remains with To: field (which for me is much more important, because I want to know who's got my real name, and who has just harvested my e-mail address).

NicoHellbillyDeluxe Wednesday, August 4, 2010 12:53:57 PM

That's a long changelog, considering that the last snapshot has been released less than 24 hours ago.

Impressive!

pursanovd Wednesday, August 4, 2010 1:00:38 PM

Bookmarks improvement is good! Can you do a better bookmark manager? In this one there is no even option to sort ALL bookmarks by date created. The easiest way is to add column date and ability to sort by it(like Name, Nickname and Address that already are).
You, team, rock! up

They obviously don't. And if you would watch them work, neither would you.

I'm pleased with this snapshot. Thanks for your working bigsmile .But, I have an idea that why don't we have a small place for a feedback button in snapshot. This is more convenient for the users when they have the problems, and we can have more information about errors than now.whistle

So I can't bookmark anything twice? Seems like a regression... Use case: I want to have Google in my bookmarks root, but also in my "Bookmark->Searches" folder.

It's a "good" idea, but I believe that some people will be annoyed by that behavior.

I am totally disoriented with snapshots.
What one should I install over my 10.60.3445 Win and 10.70.6396 Linux?

Are that new snapshots parallel or they are should be one-by-one installed till latest one?

Great! Now we can edit directory of the bookmark

Bookmark icons for sites that have custom icons are still showing as a blank space.

Placeholder stars are showing, but every time I visit a site with a custom icon, instead of showing the icon, all you see is a blank space.

Thanks! bigsmile Anyway this wouldn't a big problem in a snapshot, but very big problem in the 10.60 final. So, Dear Developers! Please fix these ugly bugs in the final 10.61. I want to recommend proudly this browser to my acquaintances again. smile

DSK-301119 (Regression of DSK-254388) is still unfixed!

It has been fixed in 10.5.0. It is there again definitely since 10.6.x, maybe already since 10.5.2 or 10.5.3 or 10.5.4.

Please fix it again! Since this bug has been (temporary) fixed in 10.5.0, it seems to be a regression bug!

Another note, the missing bookmark icons occurred on Linux, and even a deletion of the .opera directory int he user's home directory did not get the custom site icons to show again in the bookmarks drop down.

These are shown correctly in the bookmark manager. So the icons are there, they just never show correctly in the drop-down bookmark menu.

For some reason, I cannot scroll down to the comment box in Opera (Posting with Chrome Canary (masked as Opera)); every time I scroll close to the comment box Opera freezes (when I see cooldudio's comment it freezes, more specifically). Cleaned the cache.

Can anyone confirm?

(Update: I see the APNG froze everyone)

confirmed! I cleaned the cache too and disabled cache for testing...on the "Opera" pages this snapshot hangs on the last 2 elements right . This snapshot seems slower than the previous one! Both 350 points slower than 10.61 on Peacekeeper.

That bug occurs with the 3468 build too, 10.61 RC2 stalls for some time but recovers.

Glad to see the continued work with Presto. Someone on opera.general recently noted a certain jumpiness at the end of page loading with either 10.61 or 10.70, and it struck a bell. I just saw it with this page. As the page was nearing the end of loading, I started to scroll down using the mouse wheel, i.e., click-focus hadn't changed. I had thought the page was loaded, but apparently not, because there were two small jumps of the page onscreen, separated by a few seconds. XP/SP3, cable broadband.

Update: just saw it again at http://fasterskier.com/2010/08/norway-more-running-less-rollerskiing/. Page just jumped upward a bit seemingly several seconds after it had finished loading.

SSL Handshake issue with Planetromeo still unsolved. DSK-300828.

Opening https://www.planetromeo.com results in SSL Error 40 shown in multiple elements/frames of the page. Results differ during page reloads. This was not present in 10.10 and earlier, seems to sneaked in somewhen around 10.50. Tested on win7 (x64) and xp-sp3 (x86).

Please confirm/acknowledge.

3 problems with bookmarks library... awww

1 - "Add all open tabs to bookmarks" does not work (reported since 10.54 version and not fixed - DSK-296161)

2 - The alternating colors from bookmarks library lines disappear when some of the columns is disabled ("nick", for example)

3 - The items in the bookmarks library and personal bar not open in the background when clicked with the mouse wheel.
