Fixes and improvements - on demand plug-in sitepref, Ctrl-click support
By Rijk. Friday, May 27, 2011 2:00:00 PM
Opera was the first browser that gave you the option to load tabs in the background by holding Ctrl+Shift down while clicking. Now, you can do it with one key less, just Ctrl is enough. This change aligns this feature with how it works in other browsers. Just like with Ctrl+Shift, you can also hold the Ctrl-key while clicking bookmarks or the 'Search' option in the context menu of selected text, to make the resulting pages open in a background tab. Holding Shift while clicking links etc still opens in a new foreground tab.
Highlights[/SIZE]
- Manually zoom the Speed Dials to 30% (minimum zoom was 50%)
- Paste and Go in the search field will perform a search, instead of loading as an URL
- The 'On Demand Plugin' option is now available in Site Preferences
- Ctrl-click on a link to open it in a background tab (Ctrl+Shift-click will also still work for now)
WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes, and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

There are issues with the manual check for updates, nothing found!
IusedtobeOOlli91 # Friday, May 27, 2011 2:17:43 PM
Please fix that - hope it's not a feature.
Edit: Even when I click links in other programmes the clicked site loads in a background tab - probably this is not intended. I'm on OSX.

Can you please provide an option to disable this feature? I am way too used to clicking on images to save them. And this feature breaks that functionality. Can this be changed from the keyboard/mouse shortcut settings?

But we have to make sure they don't conflict with other things. There is an extension to enable Ctrl+click to open tabs in the backgrounds already, so perhaps it will be possible to change the new behavior back using an extension as well:
https://addons.opera.com/addons/extensions/details/control-click/
I have not looked into whether or not it is actually possible, though.

Opera is the only browser that makes it easy to quickly save images by control+clicking on them. This functionality is now gone (for images with links...). hehe.

Activate opera turbo, log-in in twitter, when you enter there is a message that you have reached the limits of use try again in 1 hour, then scroll down the page and the page will reload automatically.
I'm using Windows 7 64 bits
It happens too with the stable build 11.11

Still waiting
Let's take a sample.
1. Open http://746246.ieskok.lt/ Remember this man as his nick - incognitus
2. Close tab
3. Open new tab and try to search by word incognitus, in Opera no chances to find like this (FF, Chrome, even sh**ty Ie can find). Can some1 normally in people language, not geeks explain why Opera can't find in this way? By the way need to mention, that in address bar write incognitus, then press search history and
Opera please, these 2 features and I'' broke up with FF

Flash content is being loaded even when "plug-ins only on demand" is enabled
One example is the Sony website.
Another very prominent example is the music player on Myspace, for example here.
"Plug-ins only on demand" is pretty pointless when it's still possible for websites to display Flash content.

I'll keep dreaming!

Anyone confirm that they may be having the same problem?
It looks as if future versions of OPERA will be beyond my older computer's capability.
Anyone else?
