May be or may be not. Because you can run Windows 2000 and Windows XP applications on Windows 98 and 98SE with a utility called KernelEx. KernelEx homepage- http://sourceforge.net/projects/kernelex/ KernelEx developers claim that people can run Opera 11.50 with Adobe Flash player 10.3 on Win98 SE using KernelEx.

I did not know this, it's very interesting up

I would say that this lab build is very impressive, images on http://www.chibiko.fr/ works now!

thank you to all the team party

Waw!!! It has MathMl support? Incredible! bigsmile

edit: no MathML support, still only per CSS sad

David ChinerkunFoo Friday, July 22, 2011 11:21:00 AM

It is not registered in Windows as Web Browser. Therefore, it cannot be set as default browser ):

My settings are:
-Version 12.00 pre-alpha
-Build 26039
-Platform Win32
-System Windows 7

Therefore I recommend not to uninstall former Opera installation before installing this release (but to upgrade it instead).

pursanovd Friday, July 22, 2011 11:36:04 AM

Found almost no problems with this new parser.. Maybe its time to reveal this parser to alfa build? smile

Regression since b1027: DSK-313764
This build based on b1027, isn't it? Just because it doesn't contains the bugs of b1020, like DSK-341929

sperling Friday, July 22, 2011 1:57:56 PM

Well done! I can access and use my web mail account @hotmail.com with this version in contrast to Opera 11.50 and 12.00 pre-alpha builds which refuse to work with the site. I can access my custom folders, read mail, etc. I cannot select and delete spam or old mail.
Anyway this build behaves much better than regular Opera 11.50 and 12.00 pra-alpha. It needs around a half of CPU cycles compared to O. 11.50 and around one third of memory only. Wow!

Yes, the builds can wait. Check on your loved ones, family and friends and anyone else that you can. Hang in there everyone.

My thoughts are also with the people of Norway today. Hang in there folks.

tenplus1 Friday, July 22, 2011 8:49:16 PM

Thanks for the new build...

It seems with the opera next AND opera labs build some pages stall completely when loading flash and stall the browser until the flash has finished loading, but unfortunately this also happens when plugins on demand are used and flash STILL loads even when told not to... why ?

PatrynXX Friday, July 22, 2011 9:34:02 PM

These builds install alongside Opera and/or Opera Next using a clean set of preferences................... unless your like me and intentionally install it on top of Opera Next. Mostly out of desperation because of the memory probs.. And because I can. Only major problem I've had is it tends to crash on downloading big files. 280 mb file poof 1/2 way thru. however downloaded an 800mb game from gog.com uh Postal 2 that'll run right in any windows.. didn't crash. But then again I simply left the computer alone while I tried to fix my brothers Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. which OT had 2 sata drives , one with 7 and the other with vista ultimate 64. So when it wouldn't boot it tried to run repair using the vista method. okay got better results after I removed a faulty keyboard that had a flameout. (short) and removed that drive. Should be in a docking station. I know he doesn't want to lose the info. but docking station wouldn't be straight off the board. Sorry for the tagent. It's working now so I'm venting.

My thoughts go out to the friends and family of those this horrible act has affected.
Remain strong..And continue with builds once you're ready, we can wait.

On topic, this build has done wonderfully! Keep up the great work Opera!

That's it, I'm using KernelEx. This build is very fast, the consumption of RAM is very good, to improve some more will be perfect!

I'm posting this comment from this very labs build and it has fixed two bugs I've been seeing in opera 11.50, the first bug doesn't allow me to scroll down in formula1.com and the second one overlaps fonts in omgubuntu.co.uk
Frankly I haven't tested opera next so I don't know if it is present. I'll test opera next and edit this comment.

EDIT: Both bugs are fixed in opera next too. However the labs build is definitely faster at rendering. Hope it makes it in time for opera 12 as it feels mature.

Bug in userCSS. Opera doesn't parse the uppercase DIVs.

This doesn't work:
IFRAME[src^="http://www.facebook.com/connect/"] { display: none !important; }
This does work:
iframe[src^="http://www.facebook.com/connect/"] { display: none !important; }

Anyone confirm?

This is a labs build. Your comment belongs under the "Opera Next" version, posted just before this one.

Seeing some rendering problems in this build when page is zoomed:

http://i.imgur.com/x4nzK.png
page url: http://spaceflight1.nasa.gov/gallery/images/shuttle/sts-135/ndxpage94.html

1. Set page zoom to >100% (used 170% for screenshot)
2. Browse image gallery pages
3. Some images that are not cached and loads after page is drawn have black lines over them.

These lines are where partial image ended during loading:
1) Image not loaded, just placeholder rectangle is shown
2) First part of image loads
3) Another part of image loads, between part 1 and 2 will be black line.
4) Same continues for other segments of image during loading

When zoom is changed these lines disappear. This bug is also visible when viewing single image and it's loading and zoom is higher than 100%.

+ one more rendering issue on Twitter when scrolling, but haven't saved that one. Will do if it happens again.

This is Labs Build... so report as a bug or not?

I'd say: Yes, off course.

I think the developers will want to know how this build copes with pages in the wild, that could be the main reason why they gave it to us wink

I would think that's exactly right. Problems that are known to exist in the main branch(es) should be reported via the bug reporting system or on the blog post(s) related to that line of development.

Problems unique to a labs build should also definitely be reported via the bug reporting sytem or on its blog post, for the very reason you stated. It's not a beta yet, or even an alpha - but as it's bleeding edge development, it's sure to have issues which are unique to its novel architecture, and the devs would love to know what those are.

That said, I haven't had the opportunity to really stretch the legs of this build, but am really impressed with its stability and compatibility so far.

Unconfirmed with Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit. Displays same as 11.50 and the font is the same in FF.

So, you want lager font:
Ctrl+F12, Advanced, Fonts, Minimum font size (pixels) and set it lager (like 14).

But do it, different sites are also affected.
You can "Mask as firefox" and every thing is ok.

I was able to reproduce that by going to the Kindle page. Appears to be browser-sniffing by Amazon and it displays properly if masked as FF.
