Certificate Unbroken

Daniel was tired of having his face in the public all the time, so he asked me to put forth my face here instead. So here it is, another snapshot! Highlight of the week is that we fixed the crash when using mail accounts with certificate problems.

WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes, and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Major Issue: Opera will not paste in a WYSIWYG editor like in Wordpress.
I am using Ubuntu 11.04 and when I paste nothing shows up.

I too am waiting for a big release! Go Opera!

DSK-343451

Hoping this will allow me to start using snapshots again, will test when I get back home... Fingers crossed. To me this is my most critical issue..

For those disappointed, basically most of mainland Europe shuts down in early August, so this is no surprise...

Well, messages are downloaded again, good. But the issue when new message is automatically marked as read and immediately back as unread isn't fixed yet. worried

Cannot rename feed folders on Mac - at least since previous build.

P.S. It is good to see, that scrolling on Mac seems to be fixed...

fisherman10 Tuesday, August 16, 2011 6:22:08 PM

I dont know if this affects you guys, but I've been having this problem for a long time.

After browsing for some time, especially viewing some sites with relatively large pics (maybe around 1/4 to 1/2 of screen size) after a while, the image does not show. While it still downloads the pic, as I can see from my network meter, it just shows up as a blank white box.

Anyone else?

fisherman10 Tuesday, August 16, 2011 6:24:38 PM

also, there's a youtube bug. when I click the share to facebook button below the video, normally it would pop up a new tab with the facebook page and etc. but on the operanext versions, it will pop-up the new tab and also duplicate the video on the top left corner of the screen. it only goes away after I close the youtube tab.

That's right, for example on twitter - there's also a pretty bad scrolling. You really have to get twitter fixed - it's nearly unusuable and produces an insanely high CPU load! Try scrolling a twitter profile for let's say 3 "pages" and it will get choppy and the twitter tab will need about 10 seconds to close.
And also Opera has still the highest RAM usage of all browsers on OSX! 2-400MB with ONE TAB open!! (400 after having surfed for a while)

I think these are major issues which really keep people from using Opera. So let's go for 12! beer

When hovering Speeddial very fast, some elements stay in the hovered-state.
That's not certainly a bug, but it doesn't look good.

Another design-issue:
Hovering a tab while loading, the animated circle will reset each time there is a mouse-out followed by a mouse-over.

I have this issues in 11.50 Final, too (except the speeddial-thing)

Confirmed, tho it took some work to replicate. It's a carryover from 1042.

Under the category of constructive recognition, thanks for adjusting SD editing so that thumbnails move back a slot when a another thumbnail is dropped in. That's made things much easier. Now, if we could just get the rows setting back...

P.S. Still getting a lot of closed by remote server replies when trying to post here

Szőts Ákosszotsaki2 Tuesday, August 16, 2011 8:16:04 PM

On every third of fourth restart, Opera always forgets how the tabs were grouped. And after this install, also did. So, now I have 50+ tabs without grouping, but five minutes ago they were in complete order.

OK, with one exception: one of the groups remained, more or less. It contained 6 tabs, now it's containing 3 of them…

(System: Linux, x64)

ClashCityRockerclashcityrocker Tuesday, August 16, 2011 8:16:30 PM

Sad to say IMAP is still broken beyond belief with the latest changes. I'm losing messages still, moving messages between imap folders is inconsistent (sometimes works, sometimes not), things go badly wrong if you try and change the imap folder designations (spam/trash/sent) and local spam filtering during download (not that you had any other option, as there is no way to configure it in advance of it downloading, and once things are marked as spam, it's a total nightmare to "unspam" them).

All in all a total mess. Back to snapshot 1027.

Cannot open speed dials in background tab.

Sabukudragonsabukudragon Tuesday, August 16, 2011 9:54:48 PM

Im on linux (puppy lucid 5.2.5)

Firstly, this snapshot is by no means "speedy". At least on my system, it was one of the slower snapshots. Then having a lot of problems syncing with opera link. It synced...then it couldnt connect to the servers. Then it was busy. Then it was fine. Then all over again. All the while sacrificing resources and perfromance. I dont know if the browser runs "terrible" out of the box..but the Link ordeal had it runnning "worse than slow". So, I went about manually setting things up. Not a big deal, although a little outdated feeling - not to mention time consuming. Experienced a crash while dragging/organizing speed dial tabs. Sent in the crash log, and it tells me "This crash has been fixed in the latest Opera version. Please upgrade." referring me to download version 11.50. Regression?

So I go to post my issue on this here blog...and i cant login...Im getting the "Unable to complete secure transaction" error page. I dont know about the fix with the mail and certificates...I cant even log in LOL!!

after some time of using it, I can't tell which tab is activated, all of them are same.
but I can't reproduce it

It does do something odd even when identifying or masking as FF. In FF the page seems to work normally.

Confirmed, since 11.50 ver. WinXP SP3.

What about Opera Link in this release? Since Opera 11 OperaLink not working. My username is made up of Russian letters - "Реактор", and Opera can't log in, shows me the error of authorization. However, if I authenticate directly to the Opera website - everything is great.

Appears to be browser sniffing and it display properly if you mask as Firefox.

In this build still stays problems with Google sites as follows:
1. Can't upload document in Google Docs. If you choose button "Upload" and its option "Files" - nothing happens.
2. Fields in Google Docs Spreadsheet are wrong displayed - it is really difficult to understand if you are in the right cell into the Spreadsheet
3. It is no possible by default to upload image in Google Images - the camera icon is invisible until masking of Opera as IE or FF. Then it works but is really annoying to repeat this action every time after clean Opera installation.

NicolasNickko Wednesday, August 17, 2011 8:22:50 AM

3. i think it's Google that make a UA sniffing. It's bad, it's dirty, but Google love it.

Does it help if you use the new 'Resync all messages' option? We probably fixed this problem (you filed DSK-343451) internally. Edit: oops, that fix is included in this build already, so you might have additional issues.

zapfod Wednesday, August 17, 2011 8:35:08 AM

I agree, Google have unpleasant policy toward Opera..
But I think that it will be no hard work for developers to make/mask Opera behaviour in "Google Images" by default as another browser. For example - there was similar problem with "Google Instance" two or three months ago, but now it works just perfect.

Looks like Google services started working on opera lately, starting by google instant, google plus, and i just checked on google Images, and it works with the new layout !! no masking needed !

Yes I have this problem from time to time. But it's not easy to reproduced, so I don't made any bug reports.

This snapshot crash each time I try to clean private data (tools > Delete private data...) It's happening whatever the history and cache are full/empty, one or more tabs are/aren't open, on a clean or old install.

Can anyone confirm?

This is due to the delete plugin data part.
It freezes after the second time I try to clean it, for me.

Hello, I know what this small changelog means. Opera 12 Alpha is nearing. Opera is fixing the critical and important bugs for Alpha. We can expect minor features but the the big features will start from Alpha onwards.

Old-Nick Wednesday, August 17, 2011 9:48:27 AM

Lost almost all favicons of previously visited sites.
