A shining new [bookmark] star
By Daniel Aleksandersendaniel. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 12:10:00 PM

The star will light up
in the address field when you visit a page that is either bookmarked or is a Speed Dial. We have experimented with a similar UI in Opera 9 Technical Preview 1 almost six years ago. We have revamped this popular request and hope you will all like our new take on it.In addition to a fancy new gadget to play with in the address field, we have also just finished a large Core upgrade. Fixes, improvements, and other known keywords apply. We also changed how we handled XML parsing failures by automatically reparsing as HTML instead of displaying an error.
Mac and Windows users can start using the -pd argument the same way as it works on Linux. Meaning you can specify a path to a folder that should contain the Opera profile for that session.
We have upgraded the compiler we use on Mac, which resulted in a nice JavaScript performance increase for the platform.
Known issues
- Some overlay dialogs have reduced padding
- Extension’s pop-out arrows is not painted correctly
- Reduces Acid3 score to 99 because of XML failures
- Widget installation crash on Mac
WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes, and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Was Ruari the first person in the world to come up with this feature?

"DSK-342491 (Scroll acceleration for scroll wheel devices): smoother scrolling in general"
Is it this thing?
EDIT: Typo - "You can now add and remove a page while visiting to your bookmarks."
It should be "You can now add and remove a page without visiting to your Bookmarks.

The new behavior killed some scripts that rely on correct XML and the parsing error like it was before really helped finding why it failed ...
The output in the error console is no alternative because it can scroll out of sight ...

The window that opens when pressing the star seems not to be able to be above the scrollbar, so it is a bit off in placement.
Easier to understand with a little picture:

Thanx for this build. But I have some problems:
- I can’t remove the Star.
- If I add Addressbar in IRC chat tab and click in Star, Opera crash

This merely means that another program (i.e. a more up-to-date version) is used to compile the source code.

When at least one tab is open when opera is closed and then started again, text from extension popup is appended to the end of page: http://i.imgur.com/ElaVJ.png
Reported as DSK-347076

Also please check DSK-340321, it's impossible to reorder tabs when tabs toolbar is set to "Wrap to multiple lines". Multiple lines is only way how to manage 50+ tabs.

Memguard still fails, reports "function signature not found in Opera.dll" (DSK-345575) - important as Memguard is used to fix other bugs.
"Enable plugins only on demand" is unreliable - I loaded a past session with various YouTube tabs, most started "with flash disabled, one started playing automatically. No idea why.

Where is "add bookmark" window (the one from ctrl+d) where i can edit all detail of my bookmark ? - adding from the star lack this possibility so the star is only partially useful. there also should be option in opera:config to remove the star. why rss button is colorless? this looks poor to me, not professional as intended(?).
Adding new speed dial cell from the star is useless. Once You set Your Opera to fit Your needs, speed dials are changed very very rarely. Whats more - if You add new speed dial You probably want to see how it looks and if its placed right where You want it to be - then you actually have to go to speed dial - but once You are there You could add this site the way it was before, by big "plus" button, or right mouse click and choosing "add new dial" - that is nicely build option to add new dials.
please consider and agree or disagree
