Closing in on a Tunny (Opera 11.60) Beta
By Ruarí Ødegaardruario. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 11:56:48 AM
So here we are with yet another snapshot, and I am sure a few have you have guessed by now that we are getting close to a bigger release. Indeed a Beta for 11.60 is just around the corner. So you can consider this build to be an RC for the Beta.
For the Beta we aim for Opera 11.60 to be feature complete. There will be no new additions, just bug fixes from this point onwards. We also want the Beta to be stable enough for an "average user" to use as his/her day to day browser. What that means for you chaps and chapettes, is that right now we aren't interested in any feature requests, long standing issues from previous releases, or the odd pixel misaligned or wasted. We can look at those in future builds as we move past the Beta and onto the final.
Please only report critical issues below, which means crashes, freezes and major sites not working. If your pet bug doesn't fit within this definition please take your comments to the forums or wait until we are past the Beta stage and moving on towards the final.
Thanks for testing and your help to make this the best Opera possible!
WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes, and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Question from a marketing perspective)
Opera was preparing great innovations for version 12 (HTML5 parser, updated carakan, support ECMAScripts 5.1, HWA + WebGL, enhanced support for web standards, native page, CORS, access to a web camera and so on.) Ie logical step forward in the transition from 11.x to 12.x, but because of flaws in HWA, the development team decided to focus on finalizing the HWA, and so people do not get bored started production version 11.6, which was almost all the innovations 12. The question that remains vksunogo in version 12, only HWA, native pages, CORS? Is it too little for such a large change in versions? It turns opera obnovilast with 11.52 to 11.6, and changes of at least 11.9))) Maybe rename 11.6 11.96, for example, or do not let this build in life, as it was for 10.70?

An auto crash log has been sent.
Also scores are not always shown after refreshing it.
I hope to see some skin corrections after the beta.
Everything else looks very good

Oh and Googlemail sometimes still takes a few refreshes before loading. And the Google+ integration doesn't work/show.
Is there at least an update for the janky address bar coming?

Opera is still using the same gstreamer library which was used the first time WebM has been implemented... Gstreamer has been in development since then and many bugs in WebM decoder has been fixed... Maybe it's time to update it already?.. HTML5 version of YouTube is unusable otherwise...

Btw, did you know, that theverge.com doesn't work properly. This is highly important because it's my pet bug and it needs to be fixed immediately. How can you publish a browser that is working so bad with THEVERGE.COM anyway. Shame on you guys!

1)Go to any web page
2)Right clic and then print
3)Choose a printer, to have a test I use XPS printer
4)Print the page
5)Now that you are back on the page no link will work, you can do nothing but close the tab you just printed. The page is frozen.
