Thursday 11.62 update
By Ruarí Ødegaardruario. Thursday, March 15, 2012 9:37:13 AM
It is Thursday, so time for another 11.62 update! As always with these Tunny snapshots, we are interested in any regressions from the 11.61 stable or the previous 11.62 snapshot (comparisons with Next/12.00 are less interesting). Also since one of the fixes below deals with page loading we would be particularly interested to hear if you notice any differences with regards to NSL (never stops loading) issues.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!

strange visual bug, when liking (fb)
------------------------------------------
I created a shortcut to open the feed reader quicker and easier:
* f ctrl shift | Read newsfeed
-> first issue: You cannot click in the action text field via mouse. Only tab works to get in this field. No problem, but should be fixed.
-> second / major issue: When I use the shortcut, I cannot read the feeds directly:
http://www7.pic-upload.de/18.03.12/bu2udz4d56yd.png -
so I have to right click on "Feeds" and then "Read feeds"...
--> Opera should do this itself
I also noticed that Opera cannot handle this empty feed reader section:
http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/4185/24ab91d7e80a445e8ea68cb.png -
then Opera crashed after a few seconds and it changed to this:

(It says "unread")

Some other skin.ini problems:
* [Status Info Skin] is valid for mail warnings and Status Button?!
* [Dialog Page Skin] No Padding, Margin
* [MultiLine Edit Skin] bug in Notes detail Panel view
* [Horizontal Separator] Height not settable; no 1px height BoxStretch possible
* Horizonal Separator in Speed Dial different from the one in Dialogs
* [Speed Dial Button Skin] has no Margins
* F12 / Webpages [Horizontal Separator] too big
* No option to skin an open/closed mail thread top mail individually (root mail of a thread)
* Mail Treeview date text color not changeable?
This is only a quick snapshot of problems I had the last days with Opera 11.x skins. Maybe some of them are solved in 12, but I can't test it because 12 is always crashing on startup.

Also, I don't know if this is a regression, but the "low-bandwidth mode" for mail is very inconsistent: many times, mail messages don't offer the possibility of fetching the complete mail (the menu option and the button are disabled) and I get stuck with a partially downloaded (corrupt) mail. The only way to get it seems to be to delete the account, recreate it and download the mail again.

Complex magazine and newspaper pages with lots of ads and stories linked to other sites. Page stalls forever with progress bar stating "completed request to (off site server)", response from the offsite server is never received or recognized, and so page never finishes loading.
Stopping and reloading the page usually resolves the issue for that particular instance of that particular page.
This has been a recurrent problem for Opera for a good couple of years, now. No other browser does this.
Edit: Chrome does it to a much lesser degree.

I'm having the same problem with a fresh install too so it might have to do with my version of flash(v 11). Chrome works fine but doesn't use the same flash.
I'm going to find and older version(v10) of flash and test it
EDIT. well that didn't work either.
I've sent 3 crash logs regarding this so hopefully I can get some answers.
Also, strange behaviour while I'm doing all of this uninstall reinstall with flash. When I reopen Opera after installing flash, go to my bookmarks, not all of the ones that are not in a subfolder get displayed. I choose manage bookmarks and they are there. Go back to selecting them from the menu and they appear

Reported this porblem 2 years back and still no bug fix for the same.
