11.62 is nearing release
By Ruarí Ødegaardruario. Thursday, March 22, 2012 12:26:37 PM
Remember that the intention for 11.62 is to be a stability and performance improvement on 11.61. We believe we have achieved that, so our focus is now to make sure there are no regressions from 11.61. Therefore please do not discuss outstanding or previously reported issues here. Rather we ask that you focus you testing entirely on spotting any regressions we may have overlooked.
Thanks as always!
WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes, and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

If you download the 11.61 final and install it in Standalone/USB Install mode (see the instructions in the download links above) you can do a direct comparison between 11.61 and 11.62. Then you can find out if it is a regression. If it is please report back. Otherwise, please save the comments for a non-11.62 snapshot.
P.S. This is not to say we don't appreciate your reports. We really do!

Not problem, I will report it on next Opera Next snapshot. IIRC it is not a regression from 11.61. You can delete these comments. Sorry for bothering you

DSK-359325 is a regression because full screen mode was supposed to be fixed in 11.61. F11 works but choosing "Full Screen" from the right click menu does not.

The clean install did correct my full screen issue though, thanks

On a relate side note. I installed 1340 over its predecessor. I had instructed the installer to pin the icon. The installer did not renew the already pinned icon which identifies as Opera 12.62.1327.

Regression from 11.61 or not?P.S. Please don't compare with 12.00. 12.00 has many fixes that are not present in 11.62. This is known. 11.62 should be compared with 11.61 only. The download links above should how side-by-side installs can be performed on Windows, Mac and Linux/FreeBSD. This is the best way to compare 11.61 with 11.62.

The mapquest site pops up as before then goes to a full page of an ad.
It's unusable.
This is on about a dozen machines, various distros and Windows revs.

Glad you found this. There were several pages on huffingtonpost.com that were doing this exact thing the other day, but they aren't doing it at present. Not surprising as all pages on huffpost change hugely every day. Mapquest is a site where it can be reliably reproduced, because it has persisted there for a couple of weeks (saw this same comment last week).
Unfortunately, it's not a regression (all builds since at least 11.60 do it) and thankfully, it is fixed in 12. However, if the 11.XX line is going to be the public build for any length of time it MUST BE FIXED in 11 as well.
It's NOT a reason not to release 11.62. However, no other browser does this. I'm sure, as I mentioned when I first brought this up a couple of builds ago, that the page must be written wrong. However, it is an error Opera must be able to overcome or sidestep if it is to compete with browsers that display bad pages "correctly."
Pardon my "off topic" comment, but I felt it couldn't go without saying. Any time you can't access a popular site with a browser AT ALL, it should be addressed.

"Completed request to *****" or "Waiting for reply from ****" variety) that I have discovered today probably ONLY can be seen if you are on a connection slower than 2 MBps or so.
Still using that build, I changed last night to, and continued today on, a 8-10 MBps connection, and the NSL problem magically vanished. This tells me connection speed is critical to the problem. So, devs, unless you can throttle back your connection speeds to below 2 Meg, you probably won't be able to reproduce the problem.

Dragging tabs off the tab bar and back on was mostly fixed, but if you drag a tab out of one stack and into another expanded stack to the right of the original stack, tabs start disappearing and Opera starts crashing.
Reported as DSK-359823.
