11.62 is nearing release

, ,

Another Thursday 11.62 build. A final 11.62 release is just around the corner, so testing is perhaps more important than ever!

Remember that the intention for 11.62 is to be a stability and performance improvement on 11.61. We believe we have achieved that, so our focus is now to make sure there are no regressions from 11.61. Therefore please do not discuss outstanding or previously reported issues here. Rather we ask that you focus you testing entirely on spotting any regressions we may have overlooked. knight

Thanks as always!

WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes, and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Each version, Opera uses more and more memory and consumes and gets stuck in more and more processing...

Tá foda.

I love this browser, but it's getting almost impossible to use.

use drag and drop

Drag and drop can't create 3 shortcuts for the first row, 6 for the second, 8 for third and 3 for fourth row.
Did you even read my post?
Drag and drop changes position of shortcuts, it doesn't create custom number of static rows where you can place as many shortcuts as you want.

"the intention for 11.62 is to be a stability and performance improvement on 11.61." Opera 11.62 is almost unusable for me, (Debian 6, X-64), as was 11.61. It takes a long to load a large page (eg: http://ontario.kijiji.ca/ - 15 seconds) and the screen is completely dead while it does so. I am, very reluctantly, moving my browser default to Chromium. BTW, Chromium loads the page given as an example instantly.

This build works really well on my Kubuntu 11.10 64bit. I have no problems.

When importing my bookmarks collection from Firefox I can't get them in the correct order, they seem to be disordered or in reverse position, and can't order them by "my order" anyway with any of the ordering options in Opera.
When importing same bookmarks to Safari, for example, the order is the same I have in Firefox and everything works fine.
Any solution, please?
I want to come back to Opera after a couple of years with Firefox (for working reasons) and I haven't the time to reorder 12000 bookmarks sad
thanks !

had the same problem for about a year now

Hmm. Faster in Opera (by a smidge) than in Chrome for me. Both load it jiffy-quick, but Opera just a bit faster.

Found a regression! I can reproduce it 100% but can't get it exact how to do it as it is slightly different amount of clicks each time. But it involves Google so should be taken serious. Someone please confirm.

(Clean install. Put my Opera into "3" mode for "History Navigation" in about:config )

I was browsing Google search results and clicking on links, going to the website and using back button to go back to google results and then going to another link and so on. Going to page-2 of results and doing the same. Eventually (after about 5-15 link visits and different page of results and back buttons) I cannot click on a link anymore in the results page. Opera acts like it is just text and not a hyperlink. I cannot proceed to any link on that results page. A refresh of page fixes it.

Here is how I duplicate it. I enter this into Google search "site:golfwrx.com taylormade" to search a golf forum. Then start clicking on the links given for the search. Visit the page and go back to results. Keep visiting links at google. Goto Page 2 of the results and do same. Visit and then back. I pretty quickly get unclickable links at Google.

This is Opera behavior, it caches pages for faster access next time! p

page loaded completely with opera 11.62 in about 11-12 seconds
tested two times after complete history clean of opera and ie

Thanks for reporting. It is very annoying and I can't find steps to reproduce it 100% either. Just clicking on several links and going back to search result pages will trigger it.

barclays.co.uk - British bank site after its revamp has got a severe issue. After logging in to your account and choosing one of your accounts Opera freezes completely. Their new interface worked fine in Opera 11.60 I believe (can't be sure of the number though but it did indeed work cause I tested it then). The issue was already there in 11.61.

Regression??

This is happening more frequently on other sites, as well. If I hover the cursor over the "back" arrow, the text "Back (Alt + Left)" appears on the bottom of the page.

Regression from 11.61 or not?

The issue is there in Opera 11.61 as well.

Mark A.NightMayor Monday, March 26, 2012 4:38:06 AM

Regression: WebM/HTML5 videos seem to run much more slower than 11.61.

Hi,

Reported this porblem 2 years back and still no bug fix for the same.

Hello? Mod? We need a cleaner...

netwolf Wednesday, April 11, 2012 3:44:53 PM

Would you please just ignore and not comment those spam posts.

Scrolling 5 more lines and ignoring the spam post takes only split seconds, but getting a notification for a subscribed topic and following it only to find out that it was merely a (spam) comment about a spam post is IMHO really annoying, much more annoying than the actual spam post could ever be...

btw: this reminds me of my old request: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=878702
