If i choose to display the menu, the whole top of the browser shows funky colors, as if i had a bad display driver (clean install on win xp). Happens exactly since the last 2 snapshots and the current beta.

We can report whatever we want - Opera programmers don't care and release beta (then final version, you'll see - exactly what happens all versions before). I wonder why they release all that alpha/beta versions and RC if no matter how many people report bugs, nothing happens and "beta" is released anyway. Without even one change.

Google Docs never worked well in Opera. The devs should really invest some time in this because the Google apps are used by many people.

Thomas vFRaven Thursday, April 26, 2012 7:10:22 AM

Why is this released as a OperaNext-Version? Shouldn't the public beta also be released as a "normal" version?

See http://www.opera.com/support/kb/view/991/ :
"In comparison to Opera Next, the Opera browser product is designed for day-to-day use and is only released for beta, release candidiate (RC), and final versions. While these releases are identical to beta, RC, and final versions of Opera Next, the installations still remain separate, as described above."

That's quite a relief. For a second there, I thought we were careening toward banging the rest of this out by Monday.

Does this mean you have given up on it? After all the hype? You're going to brush it under the carpet? If so, what a shame. I'd be very disappointed by the attitude and unwillingness to deal with hard problems. I was really rooting for this.

BigMuscle Thursday, April 26, 2012 7:34:51 AM

It it still unusable. Same as several previous builds.

a) it hangs and crashes very often (when HW enabled)
b) it is very slow
c) sometimes texts are displayed with zero letter spacing (when HW enabled)
d) dragging a link opens URL in new tab although "no action" icon is displayed

"Smooth and stable browsing, thanks to support for out-of-process plug-ins" don't know what exactly does it mean.. even scrolling became heavy... more like opposite to "smooth", and "oopp" are very laggy and slow responding. Sorry to say that, but i WAS really excited about all new v.12 changes... and now i can only hope there is still long way from this beta to last RC. And the unite support drop... this can't be good. There are still simple skin problems that probably require not more than several minutes of work. Regular users really care a lot about what they see. They change few simple skin options and suddenly they discover that this Opera can't handle it's own easily accessible options. Another thing is the transformation thats going on... i remember when "others" were inspired by opera, now it's the other way... sad.

danielmmmm Thursday, April 26, 2012 7:37:39 AM

Beta is still _very_ slow on my laptop C2D P8700 with 4 GB ram. Scrolling with mouse wheel is painfully slow and the window dragging bug still exists, although it is less severe than in past releases. When dragging windows around, the mouse cursor still sometimes catches a picture and then Opera opens a new tab with that picture in it. Looks like the window being dragged is lagging behind the mouse cursor and then a web site element gets to be under the mouse cursor instead of the window title bar. (This concerns only people who use the MDI)

Also the "Encyclopedia" in the right click menu uses the Wikipedia version of the country of origin. I sit in Norway but I want the English version of Wikipedia, not the Norwegian!

On the plus side, tab grouping is being remembered through sessions!
I LOVE YOU SOOOO MUCH bigsmile flirt

YIKES! We've made it to Beta and dragging is still completely broken.

To clarify:
- Dragging a restored tab by it's titlebar does not work
- Dragging the divider between mail list and view does not work.
- Dragging within webapps that has their own JavaScript drag handling does not work.

In the first two cases, dragging works for moment before it snaps and starts dragging an image. of what you were dragging.

I don't know why, I upgrade 11.62 winxp 32-bit to 12.00 beta 1 32bit, opera won't access the internet, then I tried localhost doesn't work too,,,

How do I get the 64bit version?

Its in April 25th posting - same build 1387

1) Multiple Out of the process plugin debug windows appear if you open multiple tabs with flash video. After opera freezes and crashes of course.

2) Flash video playback is WAY much slower than on Chrome.

3) Global wand password window has NO caption

4) Trying to move down the split part of the mail window does not allow it to move untill all messages are gone

This is not beta, this is a piece of you know what

ll3mo Thursday, April 26, 2012 8:01:20 AM

Still crash on http://diretta.it
Still slower than 11.62 (even with hwa off)
Still freezes on youtube page and in any page with flash
Google maps still not working, and any other drag and drop kind of problem.

(opera x64, w8cp x64, hwa off)

Man where to start, this really shouldn't be called a beta.

Yes, Mouse-Events in general seem to be broken.
- I keep dragging links instead of klicking and making wrong mouse-gestures. All the mouse-threshold seem to be way of (changing "Enable Drag" option doesn't make any difference).
- The "Open Dragged Link In Background"-Option seems to be ignored.

- The startup is slow, compared to the stable.
- The "Show Speed Dial" button looks still very bad, although the text is readable again.
- Scrolling on load is very jumpy.
- Rendering on scroll is completely broken (try http://www.pnp.de/region_und_lokal/stadt_und_landkreis_passau/pocking_bad_fuessing_bad_griesbach/ - Just scroll up and down)

An all this just in the first 10 minutes cry
The whole browser is nearly impossible to use.

That is not the point, I can do that everyday, BUT the Opera Next page says "new feature: *64-bit support for Windows and Mac" YET that page has no 64bit build. I want to forward the link to my friends that don't do daily Opera Next Alpha testing but want to see what's new. For the moment I can't.

Also, on that page I can't download the Linux version if I'm on Windows!?

YouTube is very unstable, crashing all the time when playing videos

Shomari-RBG Thursday, April 26, 2012 8:10:05 AM

Still freezing and becoming unresponsive on pages with Flash content, tested w/ clean profile, problem still exists.

- Scrolling has improved but still not as smooth as 11.62

- twitter.com status updates were showing time/date as "NaN"; issue appears to be fixed. Time and date now showing correctly.

Hi,
One thing I have noticed that when you click on Opera Menu - Help - Check for Updates when it says Opera is up to date, if you click Ok it doesn't close the box instead you have to click on the close button in the box before it will disappear.

cheers

Will the Closed Tabs icon be returned for the final build?
When should we expect websockets to be turn back on by default (i.e. supporting RFC 6455)
