"DSK-364410 Opera 12 will not install on Windows 2000"

You sure?
OK, installation would work - but what about launching Opera?
PE Explorer reports that while opera.exe subsystem version and OS version are both set to 5.0 (which is correct); opera.dll, opera_plugin_wrapper.exe and operaMAPI.dll still have OS version and subsystem version set to 5.1 (XP and above only; opera_plugin_wrapper.exe won't execute on Windows 2000)

EDIT: Fixed a small typo.

Thank you for fixing this: CORE-46567.

PS: Yesterday my Flash Plugin crashed and the new OOPP saved my life because I was writing a very long text and I would probably loose it. Thanks for that smile

Seems Opera loses keyboard input sometimes, shortcut doesn't works (like f5, alt+f5, ...) and text input doesn't appear (on page or address bar). It seems to be random, i don't know what can be the cause. With mouse i can still open tab, select text, open link ... Only close and reopen works for have back Opera usable.
This is not only an issue from this build, but from last 2 or 3.

This can be an issue only for windows 8 cp, if someone can confirm this on stable os can be useful, i think.

(Opera x64, Windows x64, hwa off)

EDIT: I can't take focus on address bar, if i click on it nothing happens.

DSK-362179 Shutdown or logout of Gnome, Unity or KDE hangs due to Opera not responding

Yeeeeahh!!

FataL Wednesday, May 30, 2012 2:24:30 PM

Sometimes Opera 12 lost history for a tab by opening target=_blank links inside the same tab. It happens randomly and I can't reproduce it.
Latest example: http://www.midatlantichikes.com/tt-sstloop.htm (after clicking on some other links I clicked on many vistas and Opera opened it in the same tab).

Anyone else noticed something similar?

Avola Wednesday, May 30, 2012 2:33:01 PM

Finally! Now it's actually usable, thank you.
Hope you have some more fixes for themes, especially the min/max/close button positions. Also, performance on Youtube isn't very good. Scrolling is quite slow, and videos stutter/freeze sometimes, particularly when scrolling. If you open an MDI window on Youtube, parts of the video will often become white.

It`s strange...
Facebook is not fully supported - for example button of full screen view is missing in Opera.

Patrick O'Reillypaddy2k Wednesday, May 30, 2012 2:41:02 PM

WooHoo! Lots of Linux fixes that have been annoying me recently (Twitter and shutdown).
Thanks guys

Rus-land Wednesday, May 30, 2012 2:41:55 PM

Dear Opera team! You really think you can realise Opera 12 without support of uploading files in SkyDrive? Or full screen button to view pictures in facebook? Or videocalling in facebook chat? If you really think so, i go to Firefox.

It was the only prerequisite condition for Opera to accept the deal :-)
Oh I so would like to hear Google complain that some site refuse to support their browser !

CORE-46623 Scrolling broken in dropdowns

I believe that this is not fully fixed.

Head over to http://www.erepublik.com/en/map , then click on the 'Select country' dropdown and try to scroll through it. For me, scrolling doesn't work with this snapshot (whereas it does work with O 11.64). Win XP Pro SP3, HWA is disabled.

Thank you for fulfilling my wish yes

dityanaoan Wednesday, May 30, 2012 2:54:14 PM

This or the build before this fixed the image caching wonkiness (even though I didn't see it mentioned on change log). Thanks Opera team! bigsmile

Edit:
Whoops, spoke too soon, the not stopping image loading when you change image mode seems to be resolved but some image still load even if you specify cached when you use backward or forward. I cannot reliably reproduce this though.

Another solid looking build! I say go for quality, if it's an extra week or two fine, iron out as many issues as possible, that is what I do with my releases and it works out very well! cheers

OlegYch Wednesday, May 30, 2012 3:00:17 PM

youtube still crashes and takes down opera process as well
java applets still dont work
imap via ssl still doesn't work
still insecure connection on mail.google.com
still can't drag a tab out of window

guys, you gotta shape up your priorites

alekksander Wednesday, May 30, 2012 3:03:03 PM

hey! this is getting seriously better! it's usable since this build, but still far from perfect. flash site in background makes my active tab unresponsive to mouse wheel, but it response when i move side scroll bar. will there be any more work on scrolling performance? scrolling (when works) still feels "uncontrolled" in a way. sometimes program gets very laggy (no wrapper in processes), or stops respecting anything i do (but it's not "frozen"). i still get black bars (address bar for example). opera not always will detect installed plugins(flash). disabling "open next to active" finally works in this build. regression - no option to add web panel. (win xp\hwa-d)

oh and my.opera.com is down 50% of the time

XenoAntaresXAntares Wednesday, May 30, 2012 3:04:25 PM

This build still freezes ”sporadically“ (to avoid calling it ”all the time“) with OOPP. Sometimes waiting for minutes gets Opera ”flowing“ again, sometimes waiting does not seem to help, but killing the _wrapper does – other times you have to kill Opera or it crashes after killing _wrapper.
[WinXP/32bit, HWA off]

You cannot release Opera 12 final without solid OOPP stability, it would be sheer lunacy to do so. Hope the ”bug fixes' pipeline“ comes to the rescue. ;)

Why in Earth would you use a Beta-version of a browser for very important work?

DavideDosky Wednesday, May 30, 2012 3:08:26 PM

Will we get the Clipboard API before 12 final?
It seem to be the next step in the Presto update.

CPU usage is still high when viewing videos on Twitch/Justin.tv (such as the one located at http://www.twitch.tv/psychoticgaming/b/319762726). My OS is Windows 7 32-bit and I have HWA enabled.

I'm still getting occasional OoPP crashes on Youtube. At least it's not crashing the whole browser anymore though.
