Don't think so, 12.50 is a Opera-Next build, this installs as a regular Opera build.

XenoAntaresXAntares Friday, July 20, 2012 1:13:55 PM

Nice to see CORE-4295 fixed (worked around it in my Extension in the meantime, though). My test case http://jsfiddle.net/xaxa/wHynS/ confirms that.

Tuenti works fine now. Thank you very much.yes

AttaDostum Friday, July 20, 2012 1:23:16 PM

I'm glad to see this. Given how unstable and finicky 12 has been, I think it's right that Opera look to sort this version out before getting too deep into 12.5.

Christophchristoph142 Friday, July 20, 2012 1:29:35 PM

Interesting... I wasn't even aware that it was in beta state. But since it defaults to overwrite the stable installation I guess it's getting into the direction of an RC already...? (which isn't a bad thing in this case since it can only get better, right? angel lol )

QuHno Friday, July 20, 2012 1:36:24 PM

Installed it upon the old 12.01 install and saw no images without explicitely reloading them by right-click (foo), neither regular with image tag nor css images. It can be repaired by switching the display of images to off and then on again but that is clumsy. Let's hope this doesn't happen when updating from a regular 12.00.

Everything OK with a clean profile.

guys please do something about www.minus.com !! the download page is completely broken, I reported this many times now.

I filled a new bug report ( DSK-370421 )

it's applicable to 12.01 and 12.50's latest builds.

thanks in advance. left

earth01 Friday, July 20, 2012 1:41:22 PM

There's some very nice improvements with this build. Probably the best version ever, until the skin.ini file is fixed by you (or me rolleyes )

Please fix DSK-365575 and DSK-369020 before release.

DSK-369020 is HTML5 Drag and Drop related, and is a new bug (the bug does not exist in Opera 12.00.

Zotlan Friday, July 20, 2012 2:00:10 PM

Attempting to open the (KDE) file dialogue makes Opera freeze here, when trying to close the dialogue Opera is terminated by the OS (OpenSuse), no chance is given to send a crashlog.

Is this changelog item about this problem?

If so, the problem is still here.

I have a weird question. What happens if I change the install path of this to a opera next install location? Does it overwrite the next install & not touch anything else? (my current next build is the last 12.01 snapshot)

Ref. Win x64 build

I think it should work. In your case, your profile was not converted to 12.50 version.

I've had some problems with almost all 12.0x build til now (including this one) - when having two or more windows open, Dragonfly's having issues recognizing the active window & tab. I can't find a 100% reproducible scenario, that's why I haven't filed a bug report yet, but anyway, does someone else have such issues?

No problem on Arch Linux x86.

File not found

Yeah, I haven't done it for recent Opera snapshot releases, only Opera Next. wink

It would only take a small tweak of the opera-116 AUR package to make an opera-120 package (I'd do it myself but I am about to go on holiday!). Or if you want to upgrade your stable tweak the opera PKGBUILD in ABS.

Alternatively just use the install script. It is pretty good and supports upgrade and install. Just make sure you don't install on top of a stable package maintained by pacman. Either uninstall the pacman controlled Opera version or use the '--name' switch to set something else, like the README suggests on the download page.

I just did it. Seems all ok.

You just specify correct folder to install over, not new one

Can anyone tell me if this is more stable than 12.0.
12.0 makes my machine crash via BSOD. Been waiting for a more stable version to use till 12.01 is released.
Please comment.

What is "FilesFlash"?
it's causing high cpu usage even if I have no flash content enabled and plug-in wrapper process is not running.

ktxgio Friday, July 20, 2012 4:30:54 PM

tested now...navigation is better than 12.00 but:
dsk-365031 still present! only in 32 bit, 64 bit works great.

problem with webmail...opera don't load page after log in at webmail (virgilio.it for example) if opera is identified like opera, if i change identity (of opera) login is completed successfully: this ONLY with opera 12 32 bit (and opera 11.6x release)

No problem with opera x64 bit version or previous 11.51 32 bit (for example), log in is completed successfully and webmail page is loaded without problems even if opera is identified like opera

The latest version of 12.5 had an HTML 5 score of 400 yet 12.01 is still at 385 and also renders 5/7 while 12.5 renders 6/7 on Peacekeeper. However so far seems to work well on MAC OSX.

Like in last Marlin snapshot, you re-introduced the DSK-364940: When there are any items on download list (running, stopped, doesn't matter), Opera uses all CPU.
Tried it with fresh USB install of this 12.01, then downloaded single file and it still happens!

Please fix it, this makes Opera completely unusable.

Bryan KirkZero3K Friday, July 20, 2012 5:10:46 PM

Does this snapshot contain the bug fixes in the new Marlin snapshot?

DSK-367776 Skin problem:
[Options]
Pagebar Minimum width is ignored.

Could someone tell us if this is a bug or an intentional change to the skin spec?

Its important to save space on the tab bar wherever short titles are used. Many of my local bookmarks have very short titles like A.i. A.ii. A.iii. etc., on purpose.

Speed dial Thumbnails redraws almost every time upon opening speed dial page.

PraetorianX Friday, July 20, 2012 6:05:32 PM

The x64 build went and installed in a "Program Files\Opera x64" directory, while the previous stable 12.00 x64 was in the "Program Files (x86)\Opera" directory.

It essentially failed to detect and did not upgrade that installation, and I ended up with 3 Opera installations (the opera-next included). Was this supposed to happen?

i have to say, i do love people who always come here and ask about "this site still isn't working in opera" when, for the most part, it's a problem with the site (some bad javascript use on their part, stupid browser sniffing, etc). if only the same people also put the energy into complaining to the site, rather than opera... wink

Nerdebeunerdebeu Friday, July 20, 2012 7:57:33 PM

I upgraded from stable version x64, and surprise, I found the problem with fonts. (HA: enable, WebGL: enable, Prefered renderer: OpenGL). I have no problem with the 12.50 x64 Next, and I did not with the 12.00 x64. I totally uninstalled the 12.01, I reinstalled the 12.00 and the problem with fonts is still there. I have not tested the 32 bit version.
