Another Opera 12.10 build
By Haavardhaavard. Thursday, September 13, 2012 2:27:39 PM
We've fixed a couple of common crashes, and SPDY for Turbo has been disabled for the time being, as there were some problems with it.
As you can see from the known issue below, hardware acceleration will be somewhat unstable. We're also seeing some platform-specific issues where it would be nice to know what platform you are all on.
For that reason, we have a couple of requests:
- Try without Hardware Acceleration before reporting a problem (or always test with HWA off)
- Report your operating system/platform
Known Issues
- Hardware acceleration causes frequent crashing
WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Even Opera's own DOM snapshot bookmarklet was broken. There is no reason you cannot allow bookmarklets since they are activated from within the browser interface and not from within the web page.

edit:I figured it out: it's because of an extension which uses injectedscript... but that's a bug as well, isn't it?
edit 2:It ONLY happens, if the extension is installed in developer mode! I guess you broke something there when implementing the new security dialog for the extensions...?

But on Linux it have one nasty bug:
I bind Menu key to switch keyboard layouts (it's regular xorg option) and now pressing this key also calls context menu every time.

0/ open a new tab: speeddial
1/ go to a Wikipedia article (by typing a search shortcut and a subject in the address bar)
2/ click on a link to the article different language (should exist)
3/ go back: you end up with the speed dial. go forward: you get where ever fast forward from the second language article would have brought you.
[WinXP/32bit; auto, compatible or fast history mode]

and new to the last couple of builds is that sometimes all images, which aren't cached already, aren't loaded / displayed at all. I have to reload the page to view them. Happens very often e.g. on badoo.com

BTW, since Opera 12.50 i can't set 'History Search' as speed dial search engine. Hope this won't drag to the final version.

It seems to be happening, if I close Opera when a youtube (flash) video is playing. Opera somehow crashes, fails to create an automated report, and additionally popups a really baffling message "Error description from the system: the operation completed successfully". At the same time Windows report that the Opera Web Browser Plugin Wrapper has stopped working and prompt me to send info about it to Microsoft. :/

This is a major problem for reading long pages of text. Not only does it take more steps to read the entire page, it takes a lot longer to find your place where you finished reading at the bottom of the page.
