Opera 12.10 RC1
By Alexeyalex-shpak. Thursday, November 1, 2012 12:00:00 PM
Today Ruarí is locked in the testlab, so it's again me presenting a new snapshot. I hope you're not too tired of me
Today is a sunny day here in Oslo, and this snapshot is as perfect as it can be. Most notably, it resolves "^^ crash", yay! ^_^.
Please, before commenting on this post, ensure that your bug is really a regression since 12.02.

So I guess no snapshot-to-snapshot regressions today. Very well. Just fix what you can. We'll keep reporting them ^_^. We will all gladly accept even 10 RC's if it's neccesary.
Ah, I'm dreary of thinking I need to install 12.02 again....

dsk-365031 and DSK-376184 still present! 32 bit only, 64 bit works fine (regression from 11.51, 11.51 and earlier work fine)

===================
1. shift +F12,toolbars --- close the address bar
2. open or create a new speed dial page
3. it can't focus on the speed dial search bar automatically
Expected result
===============
even if when i close the address bar,it should focus on the speed dial search bar automatically just like opera 12.01
Actual result
=============
it can't focus on the speed dial search bar automatically

-starts considerable slower than 12.02
-printing html-Mails from the two-panel view (1st of the three layouts): printing itself is actually done, but the mailwindow becomes grey, opera is locked with full cpu-load on one core. Have to kill it. mails opened in their own tab: printing is ok.

HWA on 12.02 was ok except for its handling of flash with 2+ windows open (been dropping parts of the flash layer, could be fixed by moving around the page). All the next builds produced visual artifacts with HWA (try to surf vk.com). Ok, I turned it off.
Speaking of VK.com there's another bug (perhaps its present on other sites too). After some idle time (very little) Opera fails to reconnect to the site, the only thing one can do is refresh the page.
Every build after 1639 has started to produce spontaneous endless cpu spikes, consuming two full threads.
But the thing that makes me wonder the most is why there are no 64bit builds anymore? Is your target OSX audience the one that uses OSX 10.5-10.6? Why not stop supporting intel architecture and fully concentrate on PowerPC?

Go to:https://bug779286.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=647683
and press the fullscreen button.
No scrollbars are shown and the text color changes.
Also note that when opera opens by default with the window expanded the fullscreen doesn't fit the entire window. There's a gap on the the right side of the screen.
Edit: also look at this demo http://people.mozilla.org/~cpearce/synth-fullscreen.html

Best part of this build:
"Several more crashers, so bizarre that I can't describe them" and i hope, that this time all the unknown magical crashes are gone for good (or at least majority of them;))

Go to http://www.otb-server.de/wbblite/newthread.php?boardid=267&sid= and type something in the message field (it's a german board, so the field is called "Nachricht:" - like you can see in the screenshots). Then mark a word or more and click on a button (i clicked at "B" for the screenshots). In 12.02, i have the marked text in the javascript popup, in this build, it is empty.

Do you release a new version without improving this bug this time?

It would be useful to update a password if the system recognize that the email/username is the same.
In addition, now that i changed a password (with the same email) on a pc, the opera installed on an other pc doesn't syncronized the updated password.

E.g. Opera's About-Page is not as smooth in scrolling as it is in version 11.64. This also appears on everyday site-scrolling.
Why is this so? Because of new features and code e.g. for HWA built in but not used as default?
It should be same performance as old version PLUS new features or even better performance, shouldn't it?
Maybe I'll have to wait till 12.50 then to get a real better 11.64!
Still browsing with 11.64 as a productive system...
