Opera 12.11 Final

We have just released Opera 12.11 and want to thank you for helping us in testing it. Without you Opera would be much less than it is now! This release is mainly a stability and security improvement - we would like to fix even more bugs, but wanted to deliver these bugfixes to everyone outside Desktop Team Blog.

nahtanoj999 Tuesday, November 20, 2012 9:17:58 AM

Thanks for fixing the 12.10 bug I reported, even though it doesn't seem to have shown up on any of the snapshot changelogs.

wahooo thanks!

GMail support looks better but there is still a problem with copy/paste : selected text doesn't always stay selected. Still have to keep the left mouse button pushed while command+V.

when can we expect OperaNEXT?

Anatoly PermyakovTolyasho Tuesday, November 20, 2012 10:12:14 AM

There's still big problem with Password synch via OperaLink since 12.10. After clean install, in synch process it gives a warning, that passwords from server can't be synchronized with local machine cause my synch-pass somehow changed ( btw, bookmarks synch here is done successfuly) and proposes two ways to solve the problem dialog: 1) enter old password (wich actually never has been changed)so whatever I enter just doesn't fit and fail the proccess 2) load saved passwords from local machine to server, but after clean install I don't have any. So the only way to start is part two here:) But have to start entering everything manually after all.

What are users of Opera on the RC2 12.11 221 comments? They serve nothing since "Opera" released Final 12.11 which is the same as the RC2.
If you are not taking people for c..., it looks strong.
I will eventually go on the side of Chrome.

Mod edit: Please be specific and to the point if you wish to report problems.

Win 7 x64, Opera 12.10, 12.11 x32/x64 clean USB installation

1. AdBlock 1.0.6, NoAds Advanced are unable to load subscriptions
2. Opera process often remains in memory after closing.

"We wanted to deliver these bugfixes to everyone outside Desktop Team Blog".

If these are your real intents then please-please-please keep releasing hot-fixes or small incremental patches or whatever do you want to call then. Opera needs to recover in a lot of departements and fast!

Forseeing a bad-ass 12.12 in the near future? bigsmile

Confirmed on MacOSX 1.7.5, since few builds…

Satan D. Lucifersupertrol Tuesday, November 20, 2012 10:50:32 AM

is this a regression from 12.10 or new bug?

when enabling this

opera:config#Extensions|DelayedScriptExecution

sites load instantly(super fast) but when visiting sites with tons of scripts(i dont have any example sites and it seems random)the browser hangs/freezes then never responded and have to kill the opera.exe process.

can someone confirm? or is just me having this problem?

W7 SP1 system of course.

EDIT: or is this how DSE supposed to work?if so why is it hangs/freezes the browser when enabled?

I still have Progress bar ''tails''. Also, pages with a lot of Flash content load slowly and have a freezing effect. Can't you somehow compress all that Flash data ?

And why can't I see links over the mouse pointer ?

alekksander Tuesday, November 20, 2012 12:10:02 PM

how can i check for crash details if there is no crash report? is there a way?

Michael Maierschwiebie Tuesday, November 20, 2012 12:26:05 PM

12.11 is better than 12.10 and fixes some serious bugs (e.g. SPDY and GMail). So it's right to release it.

Try logging out of Opera Link, then log in again using "tolyasho" as user name instead of "Tolyasho"... I had exactly the same problem and it was fixed when I used "mossman" and not "MossMan"!

I've discovered that this behaviuor only exists when proxy enabled.

That's space limitation, not actually a bug.
Well at least you got translation, that's what matters.

Got a couple of "unexpected" errors installing on Win7 32bit. One was Error Code 72. Tried again, same thing, so I Ignored and continued. One seems to be connected to installing the start menu link under the Program Data hierarchy.

[WindowsXP] Shift+Control+L (Links), Alt+Down for open combo for select previous searches and select some item. Key ENTER does not working for select, I must use mouse.

This same for Shift+Control+B.

The tabs are my morning news sites (open all in folder), previous releases did not have this problem. Appears that the issue is Washingtonpost.com related, may also be javascript but not all pages - problem is once the ram gets depleted the pc uses swap and the browser becomes unusable

Alt keys still broken here although better. Alt-F doesn't drop the file menu (likewise, Alt-E doesn't drop the Edit menu, Alt-V doesn't drop the View menu, etc). (EDIT: It does set focus to them but they do not drop. They drop if I press for example Alt-F F for file, Alt-E E for Edit...etc.) However, Alt-D no longer types "dddd" in this field and that is a GOOD thing (YEA OPERA TEAM!), it positions to the address bar as it should, but when I release the Alt key, focus shifts to the File menu (but it does not drop)...and that isn't right. sad

Win8x64 32-bit

Maximiliano Nahuel Barrosunviajepersonal Tuesday, November 20, 2012 2:28:34 PM

DSK-376093 still present!!!!!!!

1. Open Google+ Photos
2. Go upload, choose album (or create one)
3. Choose a picture on PC less than 50 kb (not issue in files > 50kb)
4. Then Opera never upload that picture... just hangs and must be closed shutting down opera.exe service.

Sadly, but yes. I test it with RC2 (clean USB install of regular x64 build) on my windows 7.

As you can see it has some confirmation from OSX and some from windws users.. but also some people said that the can not confirm this.. It would be nice to see 12.11.1 (not so mainstreamed name in Opera but..) with fixed the 1 bug before pushing this build via auto-update.

edit: My fault.. I maybe was drunk but with RC2 it already works.. but I really think that I tried it also with RC2.. well.. maybe dont think at all..

but it is surprising that some people can confirm it when it was reverted in RC2 ))

SORRY FOR THAT - MY FAULT. (probably)

I want to do a guess/bet about new Opera rapid releases (like Firefox and Google Chrome) and versioning (like Ubuntu): December/2012 = Opera 12.12; February/2013 = Opera 13.02; April/2013 = Opera 13.04 and so on... I would do something like that... 'AYB'

Hopefully not. Those 'rapid releases' are a pain for the regular user out there. Moreover when it comes with a separate bloatware (service) that checks for updates at every OS startup and keeps running in bg until you shut down your PC.

LE: I guess we'll se a 12.12, at least in RC stage, and a 12.x0 ( where x>1) until the end of this year. wink
