Swordfish Release Candidate 4

, ,

This is the fourth Swordfish (11.50) release candidate. Once again there are not many changes but careful testing by you is still needed.

In the last RC quite a few of you were concerned about the removal of the arrow in the address field drop down, so we have now provided a preference setting to bring it back (though it remains off by default).

Remember before commenting, at this stage only critical release blockers are being considered for 11.50, so if an issue you noticed doesn't fall into this category please hold off from commenting below (or take your feedback to the forums). This makes it much easier for the team here to quickly gather useful information.

Barracuda Release Candidate 3.11

Here's yet another minor update of RC3. This build removes the need for a processor with SSE support. If you've been experiencing startup or installation crashers, please try again with this build.

Note: Before reporting any possible release blockers, please consider doing a clean install to verify if it still happens there. Some problems seem to be caused by "dirty" installations of snapshots on top of older snapshots with experimental code.

Opera 11.00 Release Candidate 3

, , ,

Hello, my name is Ruarí and I don't have a life, other than testing Opera all day long. Luckily none of my colleagues have lives either, which means we can spend all our time making Opera better than ever. Hence we have a third RC for you with yet more fixes, and hopefully even better stability! bigsmile

Highlights include some more crash fixes, and a few more tweaks to skins, Tab stacking and Extensions.

Note: As this is a Release Candidate, the installation folder will default to the latest stable installation folder.

You better watch out, you better not cry (11 RC2)

We're busier than Santa's little helpers here, wrapping up the last fixes for the Opera 11 release. What did you say?? No, we don't have to wear elf costumes. Get that image out of your head. wink

Most fixes in this snapshot are related to tabstacking. I think you will notice great improvement, so go ahead and stack away.

Note: As this is a Release Candidate, the installation folder will default to the latest stable installation folder.

10.62 Release Candidate 2

, ,

Here is our second 10.62 Release Candidate. Just a few small tweaks to get 10.62 ready for final. Let us know if you see any regressions since 10.61. For those wondering about 10.70, we will try to get an interesting new build out to you soon.

Note: These packages have the old non-unified build numbers. However, 10.70 and above will continue to have unified build numbers. Also because this is the 10.6x line we still have PowerPC.

10.62 Release Candidate

It is about time for an update to our stable branch and hence we have a nice new 10.62 build for you. The fixes listed below are since the 10.61 final.

Since this is a release candidate please let us know if you see any regressions since 10.61 and remember fixes to 10.70 that are missing are not regressions! wink

Note: These packages have the old non-unified build numbers. However, 10.70 and above will continue to have unified build numbers. Also because this is the 10.6x line we still have PowerPC.

10.61 Release Candidate (RC3)

, ,

Here is a further 10.61 release candidate. The changelog below reflects only changes since the last 10.61 release candidate (not since the last 10.70 build). So, let us know if you spot any regressions since 10.60 or 10.61 RC2.

And remember missing fixes/improvements from 10.70 are not regressions! idea

Thanks in advance for all your help testing!

10.61 release candidate (RC1)

, , ,

Many of the Opera desktop team have been away enjoying a well deserved summer holiday. In the mean time the rest of us have been looking at issues affecting 10.60.

We still intend to work towards a post 10.6x release (currently called 10.70). However, whilst you await that here is an initial release candidate for 10.61. It is exactly the same as 10.60 plus the fixes below.

WARNING: This is a development snapshot of Opera. It is released for testing purposes, and there may be serious bugs and unfinished features.

, ,

Here is a second 10.51 Release Candidate for Windows. A few small stability fixes have been added, and we fixed a problem with Chinese text being rotated for some users.

As always, let us know if you discover any regressions or other major issues. We'll resume with Mac and UNIX snapshots after the Windows 10.51 release.

The first release candidate is not even a day old, but we already got a lot of feedback (thanks! :-) ). The new RC addresses several stability issues, rendering problems and includes update Opera Unite translations.
