Opera 10.50 RC for Windows

,

You might have noticed that the 10.50 snapshots contain a lot more changes and fixes than usual. This is the result of our increased focus and has sped up the development process significantly.
Thanks to the hard work of the Opera engineers Opera 10.50 for Windows has now reached RC status.
We hope you like the new speed of development because we plan to work as hard to finalize 10.50 for Unix and Mac. bigsmile

Video seeking
This build build mainly includes stabilization fixes, but also a new feature in (html5) video: It's now possible to seek through videos that are not completely downloaded yet. If you skip forward in a video, Opera will adjust the download process so you don't have to download the part that you are not going see.

Really fast development, very nice!

Cheers cheers

shaneh Sunday, February 28, 2010 9:49:05 AM

Great job - is there the expected skin updates in this one?

http://twitter.com/opvard/status/9749243473

edit: hmm.. looks like maybe they are. It looks a bit odd having the 'panel' button next to the 'O' menu button - it's shrunk and looks quite weird now.

But the inactive tabs are no longer transparent??

haruto8861 Sunday, February 28, 2010 9:49:22 AM

When is the problem of an international font corrected?
The share of Japan falls when this is released.

mrd Sunday, February 28, 2010 9:52:35 AM

Not sure if I can confirm this (too late now)... BUT I'm pretty sure I said to install Opera over my 10.5 (test) install path and it upgraded my 10.10 instead.

Anyone else find this or did I somehow sleepwalk through my install wrongly?

anshulgoel0168 Sunday, February 28, 2010 9:54:34 AM

yipee....
Opera is fun.

Opera will rule every computer in the planet.

mrd Sunday, February 28, 2010 9:55:16 AM

I must have (@lwiczek and my previous comment) as I feared "sleepwalk"ed through the install. Bugger.

BS-Harou Sunday, February 28, 2010 9:56:06 AM

yikes

still lots of bugs in my buglist sad but most of them can be fixed in 10.6 p

JosemiJosemi16 Sunday, February 28, 2010 9:56:44 AM

Oh, Great! Very fast development.

But, please fix DSK-284038!!!!!!!

:/
Steps to reproduce
===================
1.Visit Google and sign in with tour Google account with Google Web History
activated.
2.Open a new Private Tab
3. Enter something to search in the adress bar.

Expected result
===============
It should search in Google without register it in your Google Web History

Actual result
=============
It send me to google searching what I have entered in the adress bar, but
been logged in Google!! But if I visit google tipiying google.com in the
adress bar, I visit Google without been logged.

Please, resolve it before the Final Release:whistle: !

So the search isn´t private if I do it directly from the adress bar.

BUG: In a HTML mail signature, the images (img src) are not rendered

Morphdreamer Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:02:00 AM

It still shows "10.50 Beta" in opera:about

Also numbers bigger than 9 in speed dial are overlapping page images.

Jonspencerbxjonspencerbx Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:10:10 AM

Confirmed here too... Perfectly stable 10.10 installation down the drain...

That sucks.

illiad Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:10:19 AM

NEOAethyr: have you seen this? up

shaneh Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:10:22 AM

Seems to be a regression in the skin for this build, I much prefer 3290.

3275:

3291:

Also seem to have increased the chrome area for the restored state, even though its set to '1' for both of those screenshots. (I don't have a 3290 screenshot, but it blended the panel button nicely)

Confirmed.

NicoHellbillyDeluxe Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:12:12 AM

Thanks for the new Build smile.

I've found two things:

1. Upgrading from Opera 10.10 to 10.50 RC causes the default skin, to look different (back/forward buttons are not combined, Panel icon right next to the O-menu). I was using the default toolbar in 10.10

2. I did a fresh install of 10.50 RC and after syncing my bookmarks, the first two speed dial entries were wrong. I needed to delete the preinstalled speed dial entries and set them again.

Besides this, the RC runs really fast and I love the skin work a look.
But nevertheless, I'm sad that 7's/Vista's default explorer window for saving files didn't made it into 10.50. I hope you can fix this soon. It is really important for me in terms of OS-integration.

opera 11 alpha will be soon if they working so fast bigsmile

Arguggi Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:14:44 AM

Bug US-1880 reported, tab bar is messed up after you open a video game like Call of Duty 4.

http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/1535/operabug.jpg

A.RuzanovLex1 Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:15:38 AM

Also, self-defined buttons with %s for the source file no longer work

Unfortunately, also not work %l and %u, that leads to not worked integration in the menu, for any Download Managers.

Qbikqbik13 Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:15:44 AM

nice, fast work
but I have a problem with this build /after update previous one/

Kai OckendorfOckendorf Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:19:14 AM

can´t be true, most of my issues are NOT fixed cry

1. http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/fussball/nationalmannschaft/2010/02/07/em-2012-auslosung/der-qualifikationsgruppen-mit-loew-bierhoff-zwanziger.html
can´t view the pictures at the top of the page by clicking the back/forward arrows!! A lot of german users read this page. REALLY!!!

2. http://www.nhl.com/
click on any club-symbol on the top and go to "Schedule" & "Standings" on the right side. The following is displayed with a big bar! See here:
http://files.myopera.com/Ockendorf/albums/2065711/Balken.JPG
(DSK-269524) Don´t work with 10.10 too...

3. The transparency issues with Z1-Glass-skin (DSK-277964)

4. Can´t view videos on amazone.de

I have to say before it´s to late:
PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE fix them smile

Jernej Simončičеnder Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:19:16 AM

The Windows Native skin is becoming less Windows Native with each version.

pasqal Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:19:33 AM

Very nice, I'm very glad, that you're working hard on getting final version.
I have only one problem with this build: "RMF RDS Widget" doesn't work. With previous versions everything's OK.
Can anyone confirm?

Buchtic Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:21:32 AM

Youtube HTML5 still not working sad

Morphdreamer Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:21:43 AM

Also enabling/disabling thumbnails inside tabs in preferences (or opera:config) doesn't work until you restart browser, but works fine when using tab bar context menu.

Edit: similar problem with opera:config#UserPrefs|UseWindows7TaskbarThumbnails - when you disable this option there are still thumbnails, but when you hover them you will only see empty window.

Stamgastje Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:21:51 AM

Another bug: iframes/objects are only displayed after scrolling down. See: http://www.ed.nl/

MisterTL Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:22:49 AM

The about screens says that it is still 10.50 bèta, but this blogpost says it's RC. What is it? bigsmile

NicoHellbillyDeluxe Sunday, February 28, 2010 10:23:32 AM

One more thing: Can we have a default shortcut for a new Private Tab? Something like CTRL+SHIFT+T or CTRL+ALT+T?

isn't it very early for RC?

lot of issues need to iron out and make it like an stable build of Opera 10.10. still there is many inconsistencies in page rendering between these two verison.

Tomorrow microsoft will start the Ballot screen, and Opera wants the 10.5 final available for tomorrow.
