Awesome stuff. Looking forward to making this my main browser (instead of keeping 9.6x hanging there 'just in case') legitimately now. bigsmile

....

when I say "looking forward to" I should add that I'm lying because it's already done.

Happy days. smile

onlsd Tuesday, September 1, 2009 6:36:04 AM

Phaniphanikumarseelam Tuesday, September 1, 2009 6:45:03 AM

I think its a different version coz the blog points out some changes since RC2. So it cant be the same.

Vladimir Georgievvladimirg Tuesday, September 1, 2009 6:47:24 AM

For me, www.opera.com/download just says "thanks for downloading", but nothing gets downloaded...
I tried several different servers...
Also, there are 2 "international" radio options with different download sizes...

Congratulations, great job!

However I am waiting the next 10.10 build, I just get used with Unite. Even if it's not working all the time, it's a very very handy and useful tool.

Damon Andersonartpoetryfiction Tuesday, September 1, 2009 6:59:31 AM

RC1 Software Updater thinks itself up-to-date... Doesn't update/install final release.

kallube Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:03:14 AM

Congratulations on releasing "one of the best" browsers, hoping next version will become "best" by kicking chromium in javascript performance.

karepte Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:03:42 AM

In classic setup there is a minor issue in the license screen (at the beginning):
Desktop End-User License Agreement

Xanashi Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:06:43 AM

Volshebnyi Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:12:54 AM

David Tereidterei Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:15:15 AM

Congratulations on the latest release guys. Really like 10, very happy you put so much work into stability and rendering fixes.

I'm always a little sad when a new version of Opera is released though since it means no more playing around with snap shots for a while. However hopefully the next snap shots will be very exciting and include the new javascript engine and accelerated graphics backend.

ColKilkenny Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:15:19 AM

Congrats guys / gals!

The tray icon in Linux seems to be still broken (with grey background instead of transparent).

Now, where's our new 10.10 snapshots? Or even better, where's our snapshots with Presto 2.4?p

Mitommitpl Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:15:34 AM

Congratulation for releasing new and final version. I hope you will keep going on enhancing the existing solutions.
I'm truly interested in enhancing speed for Java-scripts - it's still sad, that benchmark SunSpider is getting not so high results as example Chrome..
I believe in Opera developers that this small issue might be resolved soon smile
Keep going, I'm with you (already for a few years as a default web-browser, with every possible alpha and beta..)..

serious Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:16:29 AM

sooo ... where's the qt4 build? I don't want crappy old qt3, but the download interface doesn't let me choose.

Raistlin Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:17:09 AM

I've #1750 after installation from Opera Downloads. Is it RC2? So why you wrote changelog?

Maciej Kaczkowskimaciejkaczkowski Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:18:06 AM

waiting for Opera 11 snapshots... smile

Madiseestlane Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:18:45 AM

Yay

wOxxOm Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:21:07 AM

90% times it's crashing when restoring from tray with a hotkey manager which sends a PostMessage (was ok in earlier 10 betas and all earlier versions). The tray icon is ............. u.g.l.y............. The "undo closed windows" button is an ugly dark big spot in my flat *Ximple* theme (was ok in 10 betas and all previous versions).

Sorry, staying with 1699 build here.

JeanCr Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:22:35 AM

The build number is still 1750 ?

NicoHellbillyDeluxe Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:22:41 AM

When upgrading from RC2 to Opera final, the text inside the installer is hardly readable:

Tonyyaibakt Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:45:44 AM

imarooned Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:48:16 AM

Let's celebrate bigsmile I'm waiting for unite version !

Passie Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:51:18 AM

For some reason my opera gets slower and slower.
could this be to large of caching ?

NicoHellbillyDeluxe Tuesday, September 1, 2009 7:52:06 AM

@ huibk:

I noticed that, but that doesn't make the text more readable, does it? wink

By the way: Congratulations on Opera 10!party

I think that can happen with more skins, because of all the changes. Maybe you should try the default skin, and wait until the Simple skin gets updated for Opera 10 final?

Originally posted by ColKilkenny:

There was no simple fix, so that had to be postponed.

Originally posted by Raistlin:

The changelog indicates not much has changed. Changing the search engines and speed dials for various localizations doesn't require a new build number, just updated packages.

A good reason to prefer the MSI installer then! smile

You guys still haven't fixed the open/close tab button to be shaded out when no tabs are to be opened as per previous builds up until 172x.. 1750 you screwed it up and still not fixed

If that's your most critical issues, Opera 10 must be pretty good.

bug Bug # DSK-251773

Thanks mate... I thought it's a new issue so I didn't search the forum or Remco's BTS.
The result is the same like shown on some screenshot in the forum thread, but I've also made an observation that hasn't been mentioned so far. In fact, without Print Preview enabled, the character spacing looks fine, even with Opera's default print zoom setting of 80 %. The problem with that is the other bug (DSK-262843).

So with Opera's default settings someone can either choose to only get the first two pages printed when Print Preview = off, or you can enable Print Preview to get all the pages, but instead get a printout with faulty character spacing...
The only workaround I found for that is to set FilePrint Options...Scale print to 100%. With those settings though, the text is too large and I'm getting a quite large white margin on the right side...

Sure, printing pages from the web isn't something most users do all the time, but when you do it you simply expect it to work... I wonder how many pages of paper will be wasted by users who don't know what is causing their printing issues...

EvilSquonk Tuesday, September 1, 2009 8:09:47 AM

hobe Tuesday, September 1, 2009 8:11:18 AM

The default skin still looks a bit screwed when scaling the icons to 80%:

The new tab button at layout left side is away from the button. When having the tabs on the top the buttons have black lines at the buttom and are laid out improperly.

User Agent not changed, in final realease — «Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 5.1; U; ru) Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.00».

You planned change it to «Opera/10.00 (Windows NT 5.1; U; ru) Presto/2.2.15» ?
