Opera Desktop Team

...but not yet ;)

, , ,

We have to postpone this weekly until after the weekend. We've made quite a bit of progress, but have a few loose ends to finish before we can present it to you all.

Hope you will not be too bored this weekend

El Paulio 17. March 2006, 17:15

A whole St. Patrick's day spent waiting!
I hope there are very few bugs in it on Monday...

'Good things come to those who wait' I suppose.

*I'll get my coat*

astranomina 17. March 2006, 17:18

True story (Not sure it goes here. But there is no forum for Opera rants  )

I *never* thought I would be this addicted. This obsession started with Opera 6. The speed, the customization ... what a change from IE it was ! Opera 7 was next and before long I was riding the Opera 8 wave. With all the talk about widgets, content blocking, acid tests and so on and so forth, the weeklies gave me enough dope to calmly surf the entire week. Belive it or not, I *know* weeklies are out only on weekends. But I check this darned blog every freaking day in the hope that the impossible happens. And I drop here today to find what I did yesterday :frown:(

You Opera overlords, please DO NOT do this to me :frown:(. I need to join a rehab. Soon. I am breaking down ...

nolovelust 17. March 2006, 17:18

no no no no no no :D

aimzz 17. March 2006, 17:21

dserl 17. March 2006, 17:26

oooo.
Sleep now!...

PatentEater 17. March 2006, 17:40

The only way I'll forgive you this, is if you implement a full page capture function and the ability to define XPath expressions for filtering content on specific pages.

Now that would be a blessing, wouldn't it?

knolle 17. March 2006, 17:42

But on monday morning - zackzack!

jimmiwalker 17. March 2006, 17:44

Haha  You guys are funny

lzap 17. March 2006, 17:46

:frown:

lotuis 17. March 2006, 17:49

Damnit!
Who can tell me how to spend this weekend without Weekly Build?

jimmiwalker 17. March 2006, 17:49

Hey! PatentEater got something. XPath filter would be really nice! (And even nicer would be if it'd have a frontend like current image content blocker)

eblade 17. March 2006, 17:51

well, it IS St. Patrick's day, you could have a beer or four ;D

dezz 17. March 2006, 17:59

damnit! I was refreshing for three hours! went to get pizza came back and this.!????

pgweiss 17. March 2006, 18:06

OK, you're forgiven. But in return, how about having static Linux rpm builds up on Monday?

Computer.Pers 17. March 2006, 18:08

Well.... i'm going to update my firefox 1.0.7 to 1.5.1.... (i need how to spent time before next release....???)

Sushubh 17. March 2006, 18:13

Mathchoustone 17. March 2006, 18:13

Vinny-perm 17. March 2006, 18:14

zyph 17. March 2006, 18:29

What? Postponed!?

Crap, that means I have to spend St. Patrick's Day drinking instead.

antoxicion 17. March 2006, 18:34

i forgive you, but answer me this please, will you ever add the CTRL + ENTER , CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER, and SHIFT + ENTER shortcuts? i mean, that is the ONLY reason i still have Firefox installed. Call me lazy but it sure saves time .

CHEEEEEEEEERS!

babox 17. March 2006, 18:35

Did you read 9tp2 changelog? Its been in there and by the way , having all the shortcuts would just ruin the internal setting to open addresses in background pages and new pages.

jackpea 17. March 2006, 20:24

Oooh man.

keefus_a 17. March 2006, 20:27

...leads me to believe that the next release will look more like "preview 3" than a weekly build...

Jakub81 17. March 2006, 20:30

Guys, you ruined my weekend plans

antoxicion 17. March 2006, 21:21

well what are the shortcuts for .net or .org? cuz the only one that works is .com, and NOT every site is .com

mikeeatworld2 17. March 2006, 21:53

i look forward to friday weeklies. i'll check back on monday.

miltonari 17. March 2006, 22:03

I can wait, the last Technical Preview its good!!, Happy weekend Team!!!

GaaraZanta 17. March 2006, 22:09

I come back and turn boot up Opera then remeber its friday, and in my head I was like 'yeah! a new build' then i find that it has been delayed, oh well I can wait, after all this release it stable enough(though it seems to get 100% cpu alot more often than usual).

Kanel 17. March 2006, 23:07

Rijk 17. March 2006, 23:17

@antoxicion:

Shoust is right, adding the shift and shift+crtl variants would replace popular functionality. But you can probably edit the keyboard shortcuts yourself now.

Tools > Preferences > Advanced > Shortcuts > doubleclick the currently selected keyboard setup

Then remove the 'enter shift' and 'enter shift ctrl' entries under the 'browser window' section, and add them to the last section under advanced, where 'Enter ctrl' is already defined. Look at the action for 'Enter ctrl' to see what the other actions should look like.

michBergen 17. March 2006, 23:43

So, you're working weekends now..?
Looks like a new 'real' beta is coming up soon.

Dort 17. March 2006, 23:57

No Opera at this friday, but through week i wait preview 3  Ok?

SergeantHobo 18. March 2006, 00:05

Oh you teasers. p:

Eh, I can suffer through the weekend. This just reeks of TP3 though...
