Fedora Core 5
shared release
Using Opera's version with shared Qt libraries results in no "deadkeys", that is, is not possible to make use of keyboard keys combinations to generate characters as: ã, ü, ó, â, ì, ê, and so on...
Now, using Opera's static release there is no problems like the above cited. All works fine.
static release
Only annoying point is that menu (static menu and dropdown lists) fonts seems not presenting anti-alias effect. Really suck the look of the fonts.

There are 2 crash bugs (be carefull when clicking testcases) and bug about 'missing <tr> creates no rows' that GonsioR is talking about. This one actually affects these sites:
https://www.mbank.com.pl/
http://www.gametrailers.com/
http://divxsubtitles.net/page_subtitles.php (search for 'opera' for example)
and more for sure...

Gmail issue:
<www.gmail.com>
Finding that quote function in rich text editor in Gmail does not manipulate text block properly...
1. Compose new mail in Gmail
2. Paste text block
3. Clicking "quote button" has no effect
(After maniacal and feverish testing of combinations, I'm finding that key combo still is needed in this Mac Build. Click quote button, then left indent button, then quote button and text block is placed in quotes properly...)
(Multiple bullets is working properly now...nice fix...thank you!)
Cheers...

Oh, I just saw the UserJS uses XPath. That's why it didn't work in Opera 8.

Opera 6,7,8 had different behaviour - "Create in" field was prefilled with current selected folder on bookmarks panel. Personally, I never use "Create in" field because it's very complicated to navigate there through 200+ folders and subfolders.P.S. And it works as intended if I use Split View or Single Folder view in Bookmarks panel. So, please fix it in Full View.

Are problems with closing flash popups related to strict mode? This is VERY annoying.

Go to http://www.tv.com, and click on any of the tabs along the top; forums, pictures etc. Then click or gesture "back" and it won't go back, for some reason two instances of the page were opened, very quickly one after the other, so that going back just keeps you on the same page, and to go back one has to hold over the back button and choose the right option. It's really irritating. I hope that made sense.

2nd: could please please someone tell me whether widget PIN icon must be permanently visible like here: http://dvdylan.com/images/etc/clock.png or maybe it's possible to remove it? This thing makes widgets unusable to me!!

I have used 4 different versions now and I always chose the "Upgrade" option in the installer.
The first one really upgraded everything and kept all my settings, wand passwords, customized searches etc.
The second installer erased everything and reseted it to the default configuration.
Third installer again upgraded and kept all the settings.
And now this latest installer erased everything again!

I do notice that the site is allergic to TLS 1.1/Extensions (that is, it is TLS non-compliant), which means that you must disable TLS 1.1 in in 8.x (it is off by default in 8.x for a very good reason).
Please give a step by step description of how to repeat the problem in 9.0 TP.
MisterE # 7. April 2006, 22:59
1. Identify as Opera: binary
2. Identify as Mozilla: binary
3. Identify as Internet Explorer: ok
4. Mask as Mozilla: ok
5. Mask as Internet Explorer: ok
So, IMO this site is almost surely trying to keep Opera users out.

When you go to read a new message it just won't open. The only way to get it open is to mark it as 'Read'.
It would be helpful if everyone who experiences this quotes me.

(look http://dvdylan.com/images/etc/clock.png) It is really disturbing! It wasn't here in the couple of first 9.0 builds and that was fine,- is there a chance to get rid of it please?

Mouse behavior issues:
Still missing in Mac build a couple favorite mouse behaviors of mine to toggle tabs in Windows Opera:
o Have multiple tabs open
o Click on one tab
o Click on 2nd tab to bring to front...click same tab and last tab comes to front.
Useful to toggle tabs comparing couple sites with no mouse movement. I hope you can restore to Mac version shortly...think I reported this earlier for 9.0tp1.
Build 3329 restored and fixed another favorite mouse behavior: right-click/scroll to cycle through tabs.
Still noticing that following behaviors are inconsistent between Windows and Mac Builds:
#1
o double-click to highlight any word
o right-click, then issuing "e" keyboard input invokes search in default search engine (works in Windows, but merely highlights menu item in Mac, and does not invoke search)
#2
o highlight one or two consecutive words (like a company name)
o right-click, then issue "g" will invoke those one or two words into a URL and open page (when valid URL, obviously)
(This works beautifully in Windoww; while Mac build again, only highlights "go to URL" item and user must manually click to go...also two words don't get concatenated properly in URL on Mac side. User only gets "invalid URL" error.)
Reported these post-90tp1, as well, I believe...hope these useful productivity shortcuts can be harmonized with all OS builds by beta1.
Thx...

I can only change identification under Quick preferences (F12) but then not per site.
I am using build 8359 for Windows (XP Home)

Most likely the same problem as here: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=128898
Incorrect gzipping, without sending Content-Encoding headers. It is a serverside problem.

It's because of "Freestyle" skin which has bigger tabs. The last "Network" tab does not fit into the narrow dialog window and is beig skipped. I have changed skin to standard and Network is here!
Site preference window should be a bit bigger?..

BUG:
Yes, jackpea...can confirm Gmail inbox read problem...it's quite haphazard and random. I'm getting about 10% error rate on clicking unread mail....all read mail in inbox opens 100%. This is new from my last install from v90tp2, so can't say if this is first build this issue has surfaced or not...
Closing and opening the tab with the Gmail inbox did let me open the couple problem emails, but a webmail user switching to Opera will not have any patience with this...
Clicks from Tiger Gmail Widget avoid this issue, so it's a page interaction problem, I guess...pass-through of the URL works fine.
jco # 8. April 2006, 00:26
I see the page thumbnail when hovering over tabs.
