Is there even a schedule at all for these things anymore? P:

danigoldman 18. May 2006, 15:49

What's up with this 1st 2nd stuff?

tarquinwj 18. May 2006, 15:50

"Is there even a schedule at all for these things anymore?"

Yep; whenever you least expect it.

humerus 18. May 2006, 16:02

Neither a friday nor tuesday, but still I love it. Keep them coming!

x666 18. May 2006, 16:03

Opera team, can you enlighten us about editing in phpbb-like forums? is this bug with cache reproducable and you're going to fix it? Or maybe Opera acts as it should following standarts? In this case please describe technically what should be changed in the forum software.
Thank you, Opera is the best browser, no doubt

Dennis_Hawks 18. May 2006, 16:05

@x666
+1!

shoover 18. May 2006, 16:18

I'm a 10!

Ahui886 18. May 2006, 16:20

good job!
thanks!

non-troppo 18. May 2006, 16:20

@x666 - do you have more information on that problem? what cache issue in particular?

shoover 18. May 2006, 16:22

@x666 and @Dennis_Hawks,

What I'm seeing is that the first time I want to post a comment to a blog that uses HTTP authentication, I have to submit my comment, log in, then copy my comment to the clipboard, refresh the page, then paste my comment and resubmit it. If I don't do the refresh, then after I submit and log in, Opera just sits there displaying the authentication dialog waiting for something forever.

EDIT: This is 100% repeatable and has been happening for many builds now.

Is this what you're talking about?

XRock 18. May 2006, 16:26

This flash site doesn't open and leaves white rectangle: http://www.unreal.com/ Of course, flash player is installed and other sites are opened. I tried to open that site with Maxthon and it worked.

OperaNoobie 18. May 2006, 16:34

A bug:
In Opera's mail client (Using Opera 9 beta8410 Classic Installer) on Windows 98SE. When I right-click on the mail preview pane splitter bar and change which headers are to be displayed in the splitter, then exit Opera and restart it, the new settings aren't saved. Opera reverts to the default set of checked headers.

Opera needs to retain the new settings for which headers are checked and which are unchecked.

Thanks.

sergiol 18. May 2006, 16:34

Do not give the name "weekly" to it.It is not realist.

Give the name Alpha, Release candidate , Intermedite build, etc.

Kanel 18. May 2006, 16:37

MrFrodo 18. May 2006, 16:40

@XRock

Confirmed Mac 3379

Downloadin' the new one now!

I love you guys... [sniff]

tarquinwj 18. May 2006, 16:41

"This flash site doesn't open and leaves white rectangle: http://www.unreal.com/"

The site uses different addresses for the object and embed tags:

[object ...]
[param name=movie value="unrealuniverse5.swf"]

[embed src="../www.unreal.com/unrealuniverse5.swf"

In the case of the embed tag, ../ does not exist, so it is taken as / (as are all attempts to step beyond the root directory). The 'www.unreal.com' then puts it into a nonexistent child directory, so the file itself earns a 404 not found.

The reason it works in IE is that it uses the object tag (which uses a classid targetting only IE's Flash ActiveX control). Other browsers are expected to use the embed tag, but without having a valid SRC, they cannot.

rgrover 18. May 2006, 16:44

Will you guys ever be able to support Google Notebook? I hate having firefox open eeating up all my free memory.

hcastill 18. May 2006, 16:57

Installing new Opera Setups still broken, at least for me. Can anyone confirm.

toman 18. May 2006, 16:58

@Ramunas - That would be nice indeed, buts its a lot of work.. We do however have debian repositories for Opera Beta at http://deb.opera.com/

x666 18. May 2006, 17:04

It happens 100% when a page reloads to itself (without changing the URL), in such a case page is taken from cache.

We can see this on any php-bb forum, when editing a message.
Also on one particular russian forum this happens besides editing even with posting a new message (btw, really annoying  )

As this bug beeing here from early TP1 it must be solved sonner or later.. Either in forum software or Opera itself.

@shoover: nope, your prob seems to be somewhat different from this.. but things may be related.

[edit] just to test that editing feature working great on this blog

Pekcxi 18. May 2006, 17:07

How about fixing annoying animated gifs bug (showing too fast) before final?

Thank you.

It's not a weekly, it's a "weekly" p:

Anders 18. May 2006, 17:09

example.com:8080 type address without http:// prefix still broken

Jazmo 18. May 2006, 17:19

Does the browser now use image.css when viewing images only?

cRoMo 18. May 2006, 17:29

Damn... Please Opera, do something with this ugly icon here under Linux and let us to turn it off completely. Hiding to tray would also be nice (isn't the ctrl-h under windows doing this?).

dchest 18. May 2006, 17:31

Thanks for the build!

Guys, did you think of some kind of open bug tracker? I think it will solve problem with those bug reporting comments

chesss 18. May 2006, 17:41

anybody, is the slow back fixed now?

MrFrodo 18. May 2006, 17:42

Bug 187336 is not fully fixed.

Thread: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=129612

Mac Opera 9 (3385)

eestlane 18. May 2006, 18:05

OK, good release.
Im 30

musebliss 18. May 2006, 18:21

Since some of the latest releases, Opera sometimes breaks down, loading loading loading but doing nothing.

e.g.: www.uboot.com

lenczewski 18. May 2006, 18:22

ya, it's better but if I put into addres area something like

host:2082 (default cPanel port)

it's not load, why it's don't adding http:// prefix?

velmu 18. May 2006, 18:53

Mac QuickTime overlay problems still there (I know you know  )

MrFrodo 18. May 2006, 18:53

@ musebliss

uboot.com working fine for me. Latest Mac ver. I did nuke all prefs when installing latest build - if that helps.

RoSmecher85 18. May 2006, 18:55

there is a problem on http://www.adobe.com/ check out the horizontal scrollbar.

RoSmecher85 18. May 2006, 18:59

there is a problem on http://tsn.ca/nhl/
the right column where it shows the tsn schedule should be at the top right of the page not starting at middle right.

revson 18. May 2006, 19:18

Hey, as long as you keep Opera moving forward and improving, release as many as you want as often as you want...plus it helps break the day up!

kamalesh 18. May 2006, 19:22

Using Mac Build:

I'm finding a javascript problem that's not launching these Real video links at C-SPAN site.
(Click on any video links in the listing of programs.)

I first noticed this in build 3379, I think...

MrFrodo 18. May 2006, 19:24

@ RoSmecher85

At adobe.com... that's a weird one. Did you try scrolling?! Freaky.

astranomina 18. May 2006, 19:31

Same old problems with search engines 51 through 54 in search.ini !!
Will this be fixed before beta 2 is released ??

Stahn 18. May 2006, 19:59

Personally I think that this version is suitable for a Beta, I don't know if the GIF problem has been fixed... it should be, before the next Beta.

I don't want to lose 15' explaning why the GIF problem is so important, but, in two words: corporative image.

kamalesh 18. May 2006, 20:21

Using Mac Build:

Following up on previous build problems viewing CNN news videos.

WMP plug-in plays properly, but click on "browse" at upper right to choose from list of other video and no links are clickable.

(This worked fine in Opera v8.54 and TP1, I think.)

igorditerni 18. May 2006, 20:23

As in Opera 8.54, i can't read my e-mail in Tiscali webmail (http://mail.tiscali.it).
I can log in but when i want read e-mail i receive a 404 error.

I can't login my web bank: www.iwbank.it

Teal_One 18. May 2006, 20:24

Can't see why my Bug (204116) [1] isn't in this weekly (is the fix really that dangerous/complex?), but I keep up hoping to see that fix in next daily/weekly/beta/rc/final or whatever ...

[1]

File - Print options... - Page margins
If you here enter a value greater than 1,50 (e.g. 2) then Opera takes 1,5 and not your value.

Don't know it's a known or wanted limitation but I don't see
the sense in it. Thanks for any informations about my problem or a hint where I find the BugTracker.

System Information: Opera 9.00 Build 8367 on Windows XP SP1

flyingscanian 18. May 2006, 20:28

I just filed a bug report about the settings for the Voice system (209337). The Activate voice by command setting is not saved on restarts.

If I set it to "Hal" it will, next time I start Opera, be "Opera" again.

tomurbanowicz 18. May 2006, 20:43

Ex.: "Image properties> EXIF> Exposure time: 0.02".
The format od Exposure time (Image properties) should be 1:50.

bug-206049 there is in The Opera...

zuccaralloo 18. May 2006, 20:55

Hmmm... SVG : zooming still broken in Windows build (don't know about the other ones). Hopefully will be fixed in tomorrow's build.

burmaci2000 18. May 2006, 21:08

please fix imageshack.us :frown: i can't upload images.

syplex 18. May 2006, 21:26

"please fix imageshack.us i can't upload images."

I've had this problem for the last several builds- I could upload images but the page that shows up after uploading that gives you the URLs/links for uploaded images doesn't display.

zeppelin_op 18. May 2006, 21:30
