"Is there even a schedule at all for these things anymore?"

Yep; whenever you least expect it.

Opera team, can you enlighten us about editing in phpbb-like forums? is this bug with cache reproducable and you're going to fix it? Or maybe Opera acts as it should following standarts? In this case please describe technically what should be changed in the forum software.
Thank you, Opera is the best browser, no doubt

@x666 - do you have more information on that problem? what cache issue in particular?

By non-troppo, # 18. May 2006, 16:20:59

avatar
@x666 and @Dennis_Hawks,

What I'm seeing is that the first time I want to post a comment to a blog that uses HTTP authentication, I have to submit my comment, log in, then copy my comment to the clipboard, refresh the page, then paste my comment and resubmit it. If I don't do the refresh, then after I submit and log in, Opera just sits there displaying the authentication dialog waiting for something forever.

EDIT: This is 100% repeatable and has been happening for many builds now.

Is this what you're talking about?

This flash site doesn't open and leaves white rectangle: http://www.unreal.com/ Of course, flash player is installed and other sites are opened. I tried to open that site with Maxthon and it worked.

A bug:
In Opera's mail client (Using Opera 9 beta8410 Classic Installer) on Windows 98SE. When I right-click on the mail preview pane splitter bar and change which headers are to be displayed in the splitter, then exit Opera and restart it, the new settings aren't saved. Opera reverts to the default set of checked headers.

Opera needs to retain the new settings for which headers are checked and which are unchecked.

Thanks.

Do not give the name "weekly" to it.It is not realist.

Give the name Alpha, Release candidate , Intermedite build, etc.

"This flash site doesn't open and leaves white rectangle: http://www.unreal.com/"

The site uses different addresses for the object and embed tags:

[object ...]
[param name=movie value="unrealuniverse5.swf"]

[embed src="../www.unreal.com/unrealuniverse5.swf"

In the case of the embed tag, ../ does not exist, so it is taken as / (as are all attempts to step beyond the root directory). The 'www.unreal.com' then puts it into a nonexistent child directory, so the file itself earns a 404 not found.

The reason it works in IE is that it uses the object tag (which uses a classid targetting only IE's Flash ActiveX control). Other browsers are expected to use the embed tag, but without having a valid SRC, they cannot.

It happens 100% when a page reloads to itself (without changing the URL), in such a case page is taken from cache.

We can see this on any php-bb forum, when editing a message.
Also on one particular russian forum this happens besides editing even with posting a new message (btw, really annoying  )

As this bug beeing here from early TP1 it must be solved sonner or later.. Either in forum software or Opera itself.

@shoover: nope, your prob seems to be somewhat different from this.. but things may be related.

[edit] just to test that editing feature working great on this blog

Damn... Please Opera, do something with this ugly icon here under Linux and let us to turn it off completely. Hiding to tray would also be nice (isn't the ctrl-h under windows doing this?).

Guys, did you think of some kind of open bug tracker? I think it will solve problem with those bug reporting comments

Hey, as long as you keep Opera moving forward and improving, release as many as you want as often as you want...plus it helps break the day up!

Using Mac Build:

I'm finding a javascript problem that's not launching these Real video links at C-SPAN site.

Same old problems with search engines 51 through 54 in search.ini !!
Will this be fixed before beta 2 is released ??

By astranomina, # 18. May 2006, 19:31:53

Personally I think that this version is suitable for a Beta, I don't know if the GIF problem has been fixed... it should be, before the next Beta.

I don't want to lose 15' explaning why the GIF problem is so important, but, in two words: corporative image.

Using Mac Build:

Following up on previous build problems viewing CNN news videos.

WMP plug-in plays properly, but click on "browse" at upper right to choose from list of other video and no links are clickable.

(This worked fine in Opera v8.54 and TP1, I think.)

Can't see why my Bug (204116) [1] isn't in this weekly (is the fix really that dangerous/complex?), but I keep up hoping to see that fix in next daily/weekly/beta/rc/final or whatever ...

[1]

File - Print options... - Page margins
If you here enter a value greater than 1,50 (e.g. 2) then Opera takes 1,5 and not your value.

Don't know it's a known or wanted limitation but I don't see
the sense in it. Thanks for any informations about my problem or a hint where I find the BugTracker.

I just filed a bug report about the settings for the Voice system (209337). The Activate voice by command setting is not saved on restarts.

If I set it to "Hal" it will, next time I start Opera, be "Opera" again.
