Beta 2 and input methods on Unix
By Claudio Santambrogiocsant. Wednesday, May 24, 2006 12:12:18 PM
Briefly it was mentioned in the changelog for beta 2, but let me say it once more in full glory:
International input will now work again with the shared-qt version of Opera on systems where previous versions did not work.
That is, in other words, dead keys and input methods (needed for example for Chinese, Japanese or Korean input) do work again in shared-qt builds running on systems that have a Qt with the "qt-immodule" patch.
Enjoy!

a) http://soft.winzheng.com/
b) type in "hello" into search field
compare with Op 8.54 which seems to work OK.

And the worst of all is that all keyinput is impossible after focusing to URL bar and put a letter, for example "g", there.
You, Linux team will solve it, before Final, I hope.

The most companies, schools … protect there Computers with Firewalls. Therefore, it is impossible to receive my E-Mails at school with the Opera Browser.
It would be great if the Opera Team implements a feature witch sends the E-Mails over Http to my browser.
Example:
I set my configuration for my E-Mail account and click on a button: E-Mails from Opera over http. Now Opera gets my information, establish a connation, and receives my E-Mails and send it automatically to my Opera browser in there own protocol. The same in the other direction.
Wouldn’t that be a great feature???...

The menus just don't drop right downward but sideward and some out of screen. This is the case with at least Mambo 4.5.3 and 4.6. Any solutions to this?

International input for Portuguese/Spanish and other languages using á ã ó é and other characters was not working too.
It works now!
(the static version works fine for me too)

On http://pwegis.pwe.ci.houston.tx.us/viewer1.htm , clicking and click/drag don't do anything at all, and none of the navigational controls at the left are selectable.
On http://scps.pwe.ci.houston.tx.us/bikeway/jsp/main.jsp , clicking and click/drag cause the page to be redrawn, but not with the correct zoom level. However, on this page, the zoom and directional clickable hotspots are functional, as are the items in the layers pane.
Both pages reported via Help, Report Site; also as bug 210299.

I disabled cookies globally and the add site setting with cookies on for google.com and google.it. On firefox this way I can access to gmail and all other sites by google without problem. On opera 9 googles tell me I have cookie disabled.
So I removed all per site setting, I enabled cookie and I had access to gmail (still no chat interface I see.... that's bad). Through the cookie manager I've created per site settings activating cookies on the google pages I've visited and I disabled cookies again but still no access to gmail. Is there any way to make it work?
Widgets are useless, and in this beta are even more useless since they're displayed in the task bar. What's the use of a widget if it's only available when the browser is loaded? And moreover: 20% of cpu for a simple clock???? Samurize takes about 1% for the same thing!!!

I have two problems with the latest build (8414). The first: I cannot sign in to this forum (now I am using IE6)
the second one is much worst. Opera fills all the memory (and locks the computer) either when it has 10 or more tabs open or when I am using in parallel IE6 for browsing thru Google pages (calendar, gmail).
Thanks for solving the problem

Still have that issue, set to 'On The Spot'. But change to another user and start Opera, I don't have it. Import huge mail directory from my daily ~/.opera, that user's Opera is affected it.
Can't find the reason for now.
