Hugo Del Castillohcastill Friday, May 26, 2006 4:18:56 PM

WOW! I'm very impressed, apparently all the freezes/unresponsivness I was getting were related to the cookies bug. They are gone!!! Thank you!

Jamie Eppersonne081 Friday, May 26, 2006 4:20:26 PM

Alexis DeveriaFyrd Friday, May 26, 2006 4:20:58 PM

Yay!

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but as a Opera/Mac user, what benefits will I actually see from this IPv6 support?

Ward Friday, May 26, 2006 4:21:52 PM

Error 404

mecki Friday, May 26, 2006 4:22:37 PM

Are these big things to fix????

Dserldserl Friday, May 26, 2006 4:27:01 PM

Object not found!
Waiting...still

brummi09 Friday, May 26, 2006 4:28:14 PM

if I click since 8393 on a address in a E-Mail, this is not opened.
Over the detour right-click --> open goes it then.
I also turned around the same problem. If I click in Opera on one E-Mail-Adress, nothing
happens - only again over the detour: Right-click --> write E-Mail
Still does someone have, or is with me the worm in it?
Please excuse my bad english
Ciao Jörg ;-)

I'm not sure if it was mentioned here, so if it was, I'm sorry. There is a problem with marking in emails. After marking some words the mark changes to the words above that which I've chosen. I hope you get what I mean

The same by me since 1-2 months.
Ciao Jörg ;-)

Also in 8432 unfortunately no changes

Tim AltmanJunyor Friday, May 26, 2006 4:32:31 PM

@brummi09: Disable 'Fit to width' to get it to work. We're aware of the problem.

robert wilsonhotaru Friday, May 26, 2006 4:34:52 PM

i have a problem with this build... some text isn't showing up the "Transfers" thing: http://img389.imageshack.us/my.php?image=operabug7js.png

it worked fine in the last build (284)... i'm using the linux static qt build on freebsd amd64 if that helps...

MrFrodo Friday, May 26, 2006 4:38:05 PM

Crashed twice on the community forums here. Once logging in and once trying to go to the Mac forum.

@Teal_One: You're welcome. smile

Ward Friday, May 26, 2006 5:05:12 PM

Try using a proxy - it works, albeit slower.

@Ward: How to do it? HELP

searchme Friday, May 26, 2006 5:25:31 PM

8432 downloaded but not yet installed for lack of time to test. But wow, look at that changelog! I see at least two items I had been watching for -- one of them (the cookie fix to ssp) -- that I think important to basic functionality of a very useful feature. Thanks for the double-click selection fix, too. There are other changes identified well enough that it is worth looking for them. But the really important change (if I don't delude myself) is the changelog itself. It shows impressive progress in a short space of time and it brings new fixes to everyone's attention. The more specific, the better, I think (up to the point where further precision is no help to testers). Well done!

Ward Friday, May 26, 2006 5:33:24 PM

To download: Find a good proxy* and pop into network preferences >> Proxy servers and paste the IP and port numbers into the relevant fields for HTTP. Make sure HTTP is checked then OK your way out of all the dialogs.

Try downloading again. It could take a few minutes or fail immediatly. If it does, try a different proxy - ideally one in the Netherlands.

* Get your proxy IP and ports here

White Elephant Friday, May 26, 2006 5:35:00 PM

THANKS A LOT,

....and you forgot to mention in your changelog that FINALLY the visited links keep their changed font.

BUT

there is a nasty regression:

In build 8414 the page <http://www.rccc.org/recording/index.asp> was displayed correctly, as it has been for years using Opera to access it!!!

But now, in build 8432, the Chinese Characters on the page are displaced. Please compare by opening this address with any version prior to build 8432 (or even - oh horrors - in M$ IE or Firefox) , and than using the current version. Even if your Chinese reading skills are a little bit wanting, you will see what I mean.

But I will stick with Opera as my default browser come what may, because he who laughs last laughs best.

Keep up the good work!

At least some workaround for Mac Opera unzipping files to hidden directory! bigsmile

FataL Friday, May 26, 2006 5:49:01 PM

XSLT issue with not checked checkboxes solved! up
BTW, why this kind of fixes not included in changelog?

zombie Friday, May 26, 2006 5:52:42 PM

- Still not synchronizing all IMAP folders.
- bug-208625 not fixed.

Tim AltmanJunyor Friday, May 26, 2006 5:53:43 PM

@zombie: Is synchronization at least improved or do you see no difference?

Alienz Friday, May 26, 2006 5:54:58 PM

Great that visited links problem has been fixed smile

Crash 3 times at Opera community forum when trying to enter Betas, previews, and weeklies section.

xxxpholie Friday, May 26, 2006 5:56:19 PM

I am wondering, why you put out only static version for Ubuntu dapper?

Philipp Schröderpipipde Friday, May 26, 2006 5:57:06 PM

nice, now the taskicon works correct with fluxbox...

zombie Friday, May 26, 2006 5:57:16 PM

@Junior: Can't see any difference from previous builds. I have to play more with it to say anything definite though.

Let me know if you want me to set up a test account for you.

lynott Friday, May 26, 2006 5:59:15 PM

www.digit.no freeze opera b 8432

olli Friday, May 26, 2006 6:01:07 PM

lynott: Confirmed. Did you file a bug report? :-)

toadbee Friday, May 26, 2006 6:01:52 PM

Hi Guys - really enjoying v9 thus far. My primary interest is in the IMAP capabilities and so a few comments:

-I have 5 Imap accounts, passwords are not saved. When I start opera all of the password boxes pop up on top of each other, some steal focus even if I'm already typing in one. More importantly they do not remove focus from Opera itself - and so I often look up to see I've just done a google search on my password (google is my start page.)

-Need Local Mailbox capabilties for archiving (or am i missing it)

- would like a bypass for "imap sent folder" in the compose window as an option to not forward a copy anywhere

Lito Friday, May 26, 2006 6:13:57 PM

A big and interesting changelog. Thank you!

dafalias Friday, May 26, 2006 6:15:21 PM

@Junyor

Filed bug report weeks ago. How can I find out bug report number?

lynott Friday, May 26, 2006 6:16:12 PM

@Olli: Jup. Bug reported.
Tried to install 8414 over 8432 (mm, I'm addicted to digit), but that didn't help. Option to repair only. Well, have to uninstall and reinstall 8414.

Lars AnderssonDaedalus Friday, May 26, 2006 6:29:03 PM

Heh, first thing I noticed is that the default sans-serif font is now set to Arial instead of Verdana.
