Added compatibility
By toman. Friday, 2. June 2006, 14:54:18
This weekly has quite a few goodies, my favourites are exporting bookmarks to Netscape format and support for the CONTENTEDITABLE attribute, which makes Opera more compatible with IE targeted sites.
Full list follows, as always with a few things left out

Full list follows, as always with a few things left out
UI
- Bookmarks exported to HTML are now in the Netscape Bookmark File Format, making them compatible with Yahoo bookmarks, Scuttle, MyBookmarks etc.
- Further improvements to the new access key interface. Press Shift+Esc to enter access key mode where sites support it, eg [url]http://www.opera.com or [url]http://news.bbc.co.uk.
- Multiline edit fields, compose mail and source viewer now have a
horizontal scrollbar if needed. - Changing alignment of mail headers now doesn't hide or overlap headers
Rendering
- Added support for the CONTENTEDITABLE attribute.
- Setting table height to 100% now works in quirks mode regardless of
height of parent element(s). - Stand-alone images are now centered on the page - image.css is read again.
- User set encoding is now window and site specific.
- Baseline for CJK characters is now correct.
Widgets
- window.moveTo and window.resizeTo are now supported, as well as window.close.
- Fixed unwarranted security violation errors.
Mac specific
- IRC DCC file sending now work again.
- Fixed some general redraw issues.
- Faster font reading during startup.
UNIX specific
- Ctrl+H now hides Opera to the systray if there is one.
- Installation on Sun OSes now work.
- No .1 linux packages today, our build machine died

- And as usual: Several crash fixes.
Known issue
- Some links on some sites might not be clickable in the Windows build.
Happy testing!

Mac specific: "Faster font reading during startup."
Was there a problem for users with lots of fonts?

Here's what I'm talking about:
The .gif problem seems to depend on floated content following the image. Try the following testcase
http://nontroppo.org/test/opera/giftest.html (should speed up)
Then this one:
http://nontroppo.org/test/opera/giftest2.html (doesn't speed up)
Scroll up and down the page with the mouse wheel to increase the animation speed.
Here's the link to the topic on it in the beta forum:

Tell me though, why does the installer request internet access (a prompt popped up from my firewall...)

Edit: Apparently it was a Userjs file, for some reason the site preferences had suddenly changed to a different folder. Weird.

Will investigate which page(s) from my saved session cause that and do a report.
By FataL, # 2. June 2006, 18:00:11
Edit: After editing the search.ini files to remove google and change the numbers, it does indeed (still) have everything search with "Search Engine 1". The search engine icon does change, however.

It would be especially useful since now we have NTLM authorization and it would be nice to view all images in Intranet and don't load images in internet.

- Seems after every weekly load I must re-install the individual widgets
or they won't load
- Opera crashes when installing pandora and calculator

A little 'bug' in the MSI installer:
When selecting 'Dutch (Netherlands)' as language, the 'Installeren Opera' button is too small.

By eddie, # 2. June 2006, 18:32:27
Lots of widgets (Touchthesky, weather, pandora) do not work with the new build. Not even after re-downloading them. (Also experienced by vinczej)
In my Yahoo Mail Inbox, there is a lot of empty space above the page. Has anyone else seen the same ?
By astranomina, # 2. June 2006, 18:37:56
It renders my XML file now, and than crashes... well... anyway, it's improvement!
Previously Opera shows only "XSLT processing failed!"
So, crashes that I complained about was connected only to one XML with XSL...

It's (usually) XHTML and CSS valid too.
Do we get to know why it doesn't work on some and does on others?
Time to change to previous build.
By Paul Skinner, # 2. June 2006, 18:47:36
Aha! Glad I'm not the only one. Yeah, if they won't come up with a fix for this one soon, I'm gonna have to go back to an older build...
Edit: Using a search engine keyword in the address bar does work, I guess I can live with that for now.

Flash interactivity should be available, but sometimes requires a click to activate the plug-in. We're in the process of aligning plug-in activation with IE7 and that has probably lead to some bugs here and there

When hovering over the contacts on the sidebar, the sidebar will get longer and longer, making the page twice/three times as long as it really is.
Can anybody confirm?
By Tolque53, # 2. June 2006, 19:23:54
As a Mac user, the link problem indeed did not occur for me.
