We have fixed some installer related issues.
- Fixed problem where Opera would run in English after installing in Traditional Spanish.
- Fixed startup freeze after installing Opera in Czech. Note: be sure to remove the default bookmark file(s) from previous installations of Opera 9 in Czech -- or remove the old installations altogether, else the new installation will automatically import it, and Opera will freeze on startup again.
Also fixed blank inline pdf files.

please look into the following issues:
- text search highlight issue
- imageshack.us issue (pictures have to be uploaded twice)
- image download (transfer window pops up)
thx

Isn't this by design?
chrislu # 19. June 2006, 09:40
yes, and me (and i hope others too) want that design choice to be thought about again.
so please opera devs
SlavaU # 19. June 2006, 09:49
I agree with you almost with everything, but - this page (http://gazeta.ru/lenta.shtml) always worked well in all Opera versions (I'm using Opera since 3.6x) except last weekly/daily builds. That's why I think it's not completely misformed page.

Should be left aligned text, appears in current O-build as centred.

After that it is impossible to remove since the box is greyed out.
Please file a bug report. This is a somewhat unlikely scenario, you are the first to experience this I think!

Bug filed as 214660.
And of course I didn't check 'Hide files opened by Opera' because then I wouldn't have had a problem, now would I! ;-) Damn I'm blind!
Wajo357 # 19. June 2006, 11:29
NTLM still has major problems.
It seems, based on last weeks # of builds, that your reving up for the 'rumored' release of v9 soon. I believe there are many bugs in the system that still needs to be worked on. Please don't rush it if it is not ready. A simple bug that I can remember is the caps bug in the address bar (CAPS should equal caps, but it doesn't).

http://de.answers.yahoo.com/, he never refreshes it (actually using navigation links, not the history).
I always have to refresh manually using the F5 button.
Firefox updates in this situation, which is the better behavior in my opinion.

http://www.blairwitch.com/mythology.html
To reproduce it
1. Open the link in a tab ( http://www.blairwitch.com/mythology.html ).
2. Open any of the link in the main content area in a new tab.
Eg. in the text " An old hermit named Rustin Parr walks ... ", open the hyperlink attached with Rustin Parr in a new tab ( http://www.blairwitch.com/parr.html ).
3. Now click on the next button that the next image is displayed.
The image is loaded in the 1st tab instead of the 2nd tab!!!

Hmm... works in fit to width mode ?
My problem site is http://www.dn.no/forsiden/ ... bad fit to width rendering + when loaded, site begins to scroll automatically...

It has no sensible purpose since the images are already loaded and no downloading happens for transfers window to be open.
Please fix it.
Thnx!
saito # 19. June 2006, 13:38
With mouse wheel, you can't scroll up. Both Up and Down wheel movements result in down only.
saito # 19. June 2006, 13:46
OK, now I filed it as bug-214788

Why has this method been adopted? It's very annoying and I would like to know why it has changed. What benefit does it have from the way it used to work (open the image in a new TAB) [ I do not have "reuse current TAB" selected (never do) ].
Reason it's annoying is I like to load a particular image on its own while the rest of the page it was clicked on continues to load.
Now if I choose "Open Image" and the parent page has not fully loaded, I have to go back (history) from viewing the image and the whole page reloads.
This is pathetic! Why are things that have worked well and are second nature to a long time Opera User as myself, all of a sudden changed.
The development of Opera is really starting to piss me off big-time (as if it hasn't been for the last year of more).

On first visit the page is shown - on further visit it displays all white. Closing and CTRL-ALT-Z works to redisplay the page. I know, that the start page with its nested frames is horribly broken, but the page displays in all browsers (even Opera 8.54 and Opera 9 on first visit). Perhaps it's the same problem as reported by tcj: http://www.forum-auto.de/.

We know. As a workaround, use Ctrl+click to save an image, and/or set the Transfer dialog to stay in the background (use the View button on dialog for that).

Torrents:
Ahhhmm, the right ist the uploadspeed or? .. in this case, it can't be. upload can only be 28 kb/s with my scale.
and, it was over minutes, 20 minutes or so, not only a few seconds that it can be a lag or something.
and, the upload limit didn't work, or it did work and i can't see it because the speed-data are false.

-- In Gmail neither under Linux nor under Windows the End and Home buttons don't work. Very annoying.
-- Also in Gmail when Opera autosaves the message the browser refreshes the page and I can't continue the mail composing because Opera shows the _top_ of the page.
-- Gmail part 3: When I try to compose a mail and I click in the box under the original message, Opera loads and the focus is lost. Ok, small it's a problem but a problem.
-- I tried the torrent once, a month ago in Opera of course. The speeds were totally unpredictable. Once it was downloading 120 kb/s then 350 kb/s (Our connection is behind a router and it 'knows' only 130 Kb/s)
-- Under Linux the main menubar (File, Edit, View etc) doesn't use font smoothing. (KDE 3.5.3, SuSE Linux 10.1)
-- Under the same system the tray icon is too small between the ambient icons which are min. 32x32 or bigger.
-- Where can I set the number of the search results? (%i, AFAIK). Ok, I changed th %i to 100 and it worked but I didn't find the function. It's possible that I was regardless.
-- On http://morrohun.uw.hu the first Flash file loads several other Flash files. On Windows. On Linux doesn't do it.
-- And a big security error: My brother and I have 3 different Gmail accounts. We have 2 Windowses and one-one Opera on those. Of course, in different folders with different settings. In Gmail I clicked the Atom button (RSS feed button). On the next start Opera asked the password for the account. (I had subscribed only one fedd before!). It's ok so far. But at the next update Opera showed all letters from all accounts even my brother's!

Oh and I don't think that error window is helping; I think it only permenently stays open
and pops up in XP.

Fast-back is still not fast. Fast-fwd works but fast-back is slow. This has been "broken" since the content blocker was added I believe.
Search jumping still broken. Do a search, then hit F3 to jump to the next search hit (which works) then click a link on the page and do the F3 search again- it will NOT jump to any of the results (but the terms are highlited).
d.i.z. # 19. June 2006, 18:23
No, these seems to be two different issues.
I mean, Console poping up by itself is one thing, and cleared data comeback is another one.

Link "GameCast" (in small green box) doesnt work, Opera 8.54 can open the link.
Also when you return to this page there will be no content in this green box at all.
Can anybody confirm this?
P.S. Flash in pop up window will not work in Opera until you change ID to Mozilla.

I have to say that I'm really pleasantly surprised about the stability of the last couple of builds and I also like the improved rendering capabilities; now almost all sites, which I visit, are working. One site left is the new version of www.map24.com the old version is working fine, but in the new version the java part isn't started.
On Windows I only suspect that after a while Opera is getting slower and slower in opening new pages. The working of Opera itself (rendering and interaction) isn't decreased, also no increased CPU Usage, but when clicking on links it takes longer and longer before a connection to the site has been established.
Further I have a problem with PDF's. Some only show up after clicking on the page (as the mouse-over says) but others won't show up at all.
On Ubuntu Dapper I had a lock up, but don't know if this was a coincidence (although this probably was a bug, but I don't know the cause).
Finally I was wondering if there are also plans for a Calendar feature and synchronisation options with mobile phones/PDA's (maybe with the use of the http://www.funambol.com/opensource/ ). Since a while (actually since I installed Microsoft Office 2007 Beta) I switched to Opera Mail, using my local IMAP server and I again was pleasantly surprised about how nice this all works. Especially the search function is awesome (powerful and fast)! But I do think there is some work todo. I don't have any IMAP problems, but I miss some usability features, like when reading a mail and only using the keyboard, it is impossible to 'tab' back to the list of emails, when you are scrolling through a mail you are reading. Also the way contacts are defined isn't really nice. Like E.G. one field for other email adresses and a text-field for adding an url to a picture.
Still I already prefer it above Outlook, not missing the HTML layout for creating mails, although this would be necessary for using it at our office.
