NoobSaibot Friday, June 23, 2006 1:37:34 PM

i wonder if you ever manage to sort the gdi issue out.

Alexis DeveriaFyrd Friday, June 23, 2006 1:38:15 PM

Nifty, I was just typing something in a textfield at reduced size a few minutes ago. Will be glad to see it fixed.

P.S. You guys really ought to consider using an update method similar to Firefox's (for the official builds, not the weeklies of course), since that'll make people a lot more likely to accept V9.01, etc. I do imagine it might take a lot of time to implement such a system. For Opera 10, perhaps? smile

Gofo Friday, June 23, 2006 1:38:44 PM

um, forgive me for nagging, but is it possible that the opera devs could implement undo close window (not just tabs, for when you have many windows open)? (and also save-a-window-as-a-session when many windows are open, but that's not as important). could someone *up there* respond so i dont have to keep my hopes up? smile

Vladimyr IvanovVladimyr Friday, June 23, 2006 1:39:34 PM

I hope it has the streaming tv fixed (can not check it right now)

NoobSaibot Friday, June 23, 2006 1:40:17 PM

@Gofo: undo close window = CTRL+Alt+Z

AndrewAndrewNi Friday, June 23, 2006 1:40:48 PM

Thanks smile

The phpBB caching problem hasn't been fixed in this build though. Hope it's fixed soon, it's driving me crazy.

Alecalecmg Friday, June 23, 2006 1:40:57 PM

to Gofo: have you checked trashcan icon on your window bar? All closed windows remain there until you close the session. And it was implemented in Opera 8 I think smile

Gofo Friday, June 23, 2006 1:41:22 PM

@NoobSaibot: that's undo close tab. not window.

Julio Marqezjulio66 Friday, June 23, 2006 1:41:23 PM

Not the most important "bug" but wanted to say that opera has after the 9 release gotten a "frame" issue;
When having a black frame around a table, flash movie etc etc it collaps the frame to a 1 line frame at the bottom of the table and/or flash movie.
For example..... look at my company webpage; www.marqez.com (need to select language and you will see the error)
Any chance for fixing this error???

Vladimyr IvanovVladimyr Friday, June 23, 2006 1:41:46 PM

Gofo, are you tried "Trash" button near the tabs?

Gofo Friday, June 23, 2006 1:43:38 PM

@alecmg: i know about undo close TAB, but i meant undo close WINDOW, the accidental closing of which can be a disaster and afaik cannot be undone in any easy way.

Tolque53Tolque53 Friday, June 23, 2006 2:03:12 PM

Wonderful!

Zeppelinzeppelin0p Friday, June 23, 2006 2:08:16 PM

nice job

opera does not remember "Interface email composing font"

when i click tools.prefs.advnc.fonts i can see the correct font listed but its not active, i have to press the OK but to activate the correct font.

tnx

saito Friday, June 23, 2006 2:13:05 PM

Browser id at opera:about says, Opera/9.01 (Windows NT 5.0; U; en) and in the header of OperaMail says User-Agent: Opera Mail/9.01 (Win32)

Odd, the Linux build shows 9.01 in opera:about. Not complaining, though. wink

*Edit - Beaten by two seconds by saito in reporting this. bigsmile

Can I hope to get positive response for corrupted downloads using opera?

It is nice that opera people are not sleeping still ;-)

Fresh Friday, June 23, 2006 2:13:43 PM

Not related to the build itself... Nice to see another weekly!!

But, no feed message announcing this weekly????

is still here

btw, can someone confirm that this bug is rael and not just my imagination? I tested it on both Windows and Linux and it's there, but I need someone else to also try it.

C.Felipecafesote Friday, June 23, 2006 2:18:59 PM

The color of search, when selecting the text marking the result of the search (CTRL+F), continue dark gray. Would have to come back to the yellow standard, that is more more showy and legible. More easy to find in billions of text lines.

Dima64 Friday, June 23, 2006 2:19:11 PM

Good! smile

Ahui886 Friday, June 23, 2006 2:21:02 PM

thanks

good job

sebt Friday, June 23, 2006 2:22:39 PM

Yay! Forms text fields when zooming fixed at last - Thanks!

Must point out that news.bbc.co.uk still errs when zooming; the page selector bar down the left turns black when zoom != 100% (under Windows only).

@Gofo - Undo window close is one of my most long-requested features. It's most useful to people who have 2 or more Opera windows open each populated with tabs grouped on a subject - how I use Opera actually. It's EXTREMELY frustrating when you mistakenly close a window with 20 tabs in it, only to lose the lot. Another pretty please to Opera to implement this!

Thanks Opera devs.

Seb smile

http://www.critical.lt/research/opera_die_happy.html still crashes it.

*Sigh* No hotkey for widgets.
*Sigh* Widgets still using taskbar space.

Out of interest, why are the widgets using taskbar space if you can't right click the item in the taskbar to perform any action to it?

http://www.holdenf5.co.uk/ tag soup isn't handedled at all well and makes the site entirely unreadable.

http://www.adobe.com/ still has horizontal scrollbar throughout the whole site.

It's nice to see you are keeping up the bug-fixes though.

Joey WaghWajo357 Friday, June 23, 2006 2:23:43 PM

hmm...the installer language menu defaulted to french for some reason...never did that before.

http://tformers.com/ still broken with a serious rendering regression

greatjob guys... only one HUGE complaint - I thought we were moving more towards dailies! smile

Espen B. AnderssonEspenA Friday, June 23, 2006 2:27:07 PM

Alpha-Toxic: I think I reproduced the problem once, but it doesn't seem to be a pattern -- at least on my machine.

Bill PBill_P Friday, June 23, 2006 2:27:12 PM

Pandora widget, is still problematic (at least in Linux)
A window opens in the taskbar but nothing is visible or heard but if I re-downlownd it, it works. BUT everytime I start opera i need to re-download the widget for it to work.

Also, it skips when tabs are changed in Opera or windows opened/closed in KDE or apps started. Anyone any ideas? I enlarged folder space in flash but it did not help.

thanks,

MrFrodo Friday, June 23, 2006 2:28:09 PM

@sebt and Gofo

How about:

Prefs > Advanced > Browsing > Confirm Exit

?

Alienz Friday, June 23, 2006 2:30:00 PM

Download failed when enable voice in Opera preference.

Tommy A. Olsentoman Friday, June 23, 2006 2:32:08 PM

@Bill_P: You should delete all the Pandora widgets you have, then try again.

olli Friday, June 23, 2006 2:32:22 PM

Alienz: Yes thats because we havent updated the package for 9.01 :-)

Gofo Friday, June 23, 2006 2:33:26 PM

In linux, (I think with pretty much all the opera9 builds) interactivity in flash is buggy. some flash games react really slow to the keyboard and mouse, and sometimes will behave as if it received only a short keypress although the key is still being pressed. flash works fine in firefok though.

aimzz Friday, June 23, 2006 2:34:01 PM

Thanks party

Bryon JonestheMan02 Friday, June 23, 2006 2:36:04 PM

I have been getting alot of crashes with the final built when clicking back quickly multiple times. If there is a page I want to go back to 4-6 pages back it will crash when trying to load them.

Gofo Friday, June 23, 2006 2:36:43 PM

MrFrodo, "confirm exit" in preferences only refers to actually closing the opera process. it will not confirm window closing if there are other windows open.

Adam22sas Friday, June 23, 2006 2:38:13 PM

*sigh* Still no IMAP fixes. Sent mail showing compose window; no new mail sound on INBOX.

Bill_Josephsbjosephs Friday, June 23, 2006 2:41:19 PM

Yeah! Text display in input fields is fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EdgarEdgar0024 Friday, June 23, 2006 2:46:00 PM

Edgar

phreax9802 Friday, June 23, 2006 2:50:36 PM

Yay! I still get my weekly fixes smile

That said, I think the create search function is still broken (i.e right click search field -> create search) Anyone having the same problem? It worked before..in 84xx I think.

Thank you.

Haavardhaavard Friday, June 23, 2006 2:52:54 PM

phreax9802: On all sites, or just one specific site? Please include examples.

Kyle Bakerkyleabaker Friday, June 23, 2006 2:55:00 PM

I hope we'll still see a few mid weeklies, lol. wink Great work Opera Team, glad to you you didn't go on vacation quiet yet. haha.

Alexis DeveriaFyrd Friday, June 23, 2006 2:59:14 PM

Any plans on allowing arrow keys to select the search engine again? This was working up until some weekly build, but it's been broken since then. sad Somehow holding the Option/Alt key will make the list show up, but you can't cycle through the options.

Michal Zimmermannzimmicz Friday, June 23, 2006 3:07:44 PM

I wanna say I'm having some problems with on-line rss reader at orijinn.com. When I click on "mark site read" in the left column, it doesn't do anything, so I have to click on link under the post that i am viewing. Is it only my problem or anybody else having the same problem?

I am talking about Opera 9 build 8501.

Opera is great smile.
