Vladimyr IvanovVladimyr Friday, June 30, 2006 3:58:33 PM

Hooray!!!
How about "slowness" when checking mail (rss feeds), if the network is unavailable?
I'd like Opera be not so slow during this time.
I'm sure it can, because it not so slow if I try to load a web page (with no network).
(May be it would be nice to make GUI in another thread?)

institoris Friday, June 30, 2006 3:58:34 PM

MoonStalker Friday, June 30, 2006 4:09:19 PM

State-of-the-Art Browser. No other browser even come close to this! Still dreaming of a AI-Roboform-plugin! But I know it isn´t planed! Too bad! AIM-Mail & AOL-Fotocenter still not working! I stay tuned and stick with Opera!

FataL Friday, June 30, 2006 4:13:41 PM

"kino-govno" bug fixed! up
These bugs still not fixed: 1, 2, 3

Kyle Bakerkyleabaker Friday, June 30, 2006 4:16:28 PM

yay. i'm downloading now...

wow...that's all I can say. tho there are no extremely noticable fixes, the changelog is looking pretty good. Looks like the Opera Team is getting to the smaller tedious bugs for a finished touch.

Well anyways, i'm glad to see several improvements. Now I just have to get back into testing mode, lol.

uzzerek Friday, June 30, 2006 4:22:21 PM

And when do you plan to fix flash problem and http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=141031 this problem? I don't want to install and uninstall every beta version with the same problems. I will wait for resolve problem in changelog.

PS. Beta - until all important bugs will be fixed.

episode Friday, June 30, 2006 4:40:15 PM

Opera still has a really strange bug regarding saving images. If you save image once, it saves it correctly. But if you try to save that image again it will download it completly again without even checking whether it exist on cache or not.

If I try to save it over that image that I had already saved few seconds ago, it will tell me that image already exist and it asks if I would like to overwrite original file. Now, if I choose to NOT save that image again, it will corrupt the original file that's already on my harddrive.

Also, if I try to open multiple images at the same time, Opera won't let me save any images before all of them are completly downloaded. This is really pain in the ass if you work with huge photos over slow internet connection.

Alexis DeveriaFyrd Friday, June 30, 2006 4:43:15 PM

My regression list remains:

1. Bug #214395 (would love to have more than one widget in background)
2. Arrow keys won't select search engine any more.

But thanks for the other fixes. smile

pottsau Friday, June 30, 2006 4:44:58 PM

*Last used search engine is now remembered*

It requires a clean install, but still, cheers!

Mohammed S Muchhalababumuchhala Friday, June 30, 2006 4:48:14 PM

@FataL
the kino-govno bug maybe fixed, but it seems kino-govno has some serious database issues, or atleast i'm having trouble with their site on my machine.

arghwashier Friday, June 30, 2006 4:54:56 PM

Will there ever be a fix for smoothscrolling under linux?

Zeppelinzeppelin0p Friday, June 30, 2006 5:16:55 PM

thanks!

it will be nice when you select Newsfeeds at the Mail Panel to see all your feeds (or unread feeds).

Stefan Haapanenwizzkidstef Friday, June 30, 2006 5:27:00 PM

Awesome build guys, keep up the good work! Havent had any crashes after I installed the final.

arghwashier Friday, June 30, 2006 5:39:34 PM

@mgillespie, # 30. June 2006, 17:31:16,

are you using linux, the gui indeed seems more unresponsive under linux....

Have the same problem. That's bad but I can live with it for now... And I use Windows XP.

humerus Friday, June 30, 2006 5:48:15 PM

I must ask, any news about broken transfers?

Mihai Sucanrobodesign Friday, June 30, 2006 5:54:54 PM

Save image as doesn't put it in transfers anymore
Last used search engine is now remembered
Using namespace in widgets now works

Coolies smile ! When a final release? ... I won't install this build since I still consider it a "weekly build" (hence unstable compared to final).

mrd Friday, June 30, 2006 5:59:23 PM

Oh fantastic! Was this added with this build???

Tools->Preferences->Web pages....

FIT TO WIDTH and PAGE ZOOM! Woohoo!

That is EXCELLENT... something I've been wanting a while. Fantastic stuff.

(Now... any chance of adding it to the site preferences? wink)

HEPB Friday, June 30, 2006 6:04:48 PM

That's awesome release ! I've been waiting for this:
*Save image as doesn't put it in transfers anymore* p

Kyle Bakerkyleabaker Friday, June 30, 2006 6:06:54 PM

@robodesign
the final was also a weekly, just renamed. it also went thru weekly stages and improvements just as these builds have. it has several flaws and instabilities just like these builds, probably more! just wondering why you are in the weeklies sections if you don't download 'weeklies'. wink you should try them, come over to the darkside. lol.

@mgillespie
the m2 client has been causing those problems for quite some time now. Not sure...anyone know of a bug number for it?

-Windows live mail
any word on when masking as IE is going to render the new windows live mail properly?

or why right click popup javascript menu's are not implemented at all?

LucasNaorn Friday, June 30, 2006 6:13:33 PM

Thanks for repairing the bug 216360
Bugs still not fixed:
214435
215619
215629

SaschaSKolb Friday, June 30, 2006 6:26:49 PM

Hmm I am just curious .....

Do you guys have statistics of downloads

Classic Installer <-> MSI Installer

(^_^) Would be really interesing to see which one is prefered !

Paul Applebyshadowcast Friday, June 30, 2006 6:27:44 PM

Excellent build, this is what 9 final should have beed. No problems found yet and my one really annoying remaining bug has been removed, Gmail chat would randomly be removed. p.s. widgets seam to be better in this build too. I was having trouble clicking some buttons before. 9.01 final should be ace then cheers keep it up.

Just a few more bugs to point out, mainly about Google Videos:

1) Labels and comments don't work, Results in Please enter a lable/comment warning.

2) When masked as IE, Drop down menus (Top 100 etc) are hidden behind videos, should be displayed on top.

otzi Friday, June 30, 2006 6:28:08 PM

I have still problems with macromedia flash player 9 and divx plugin (6.2.5) Please fix it.

Miljenko Friday, June 30, 2006 6:33:02 PM

Downloads still don't work if you set them to save to disk and not ask for a folder.

I'll try to explain what is happening as good as I can

1. A CLEAN install of the latest build, all traces of the prev builds have been deleted

2. I open www.livescore.com (happens on other sites too, but not on every site) and drag it to the side panel. Then I put the "small screen" button on the panel
http://alpha-toxic.hit.bg/1.png
In the lower right - CPU activity is low

3. I close the panel by clicking on the icon, CPU is still low
http://alpha-toxic.hit.bg/2.png

4. I open the panel again and activate the "small screen" button
http://alpha-toxic.hit.bg/3.png

5. I close the panel and I get high CPU usage. And it's not just for a second or two, it stays that way.
http://alpha-toxic.hit.bg/4.png

The usage is not 100% cause I have 2 processors. This is Win 2003, but it's the same with the Linux build.

Search engines now can't be added without a keyword

HUH? You mean "Search engines now can be added without a keyword"?

Because "Search engines now can't be added without a keyword" is not a fix, it's been like that ever since a long time in O9.

EdwardMrBlueSky Friday, June 30, 2006 6:42:17 PM

Loving the Opera experience here wink thanks!

FataL Friday, June 30, 2006 6:47:18 PM

Keyboard shortcut for default search still doesn't work:
Ctrl Alt F
Hotclick search, 4

Do nothing and even not show applied keys in menu. It's regression from Opera 8.

yksyks Friday, June 30, 2006 7:18:28 PM

One particularly annoying bug is carried over: Pressing Ctrl-Win key combination alone (together, in this order), makes a BACK command (verified on WinXP and Win2K, 8501, 8505 and 8509) and even autorepeats! This is a serious drawback for people like me, who use this combination dozens times a day for other commands (Ctrl-Win-F, for example). This makes Opera 9 unusable.

Twilo Friday, June 30, 2006 7:21:26 PM

yes, i love Opera

FataL Friday, June 30, 2006 7:23:24 PM

@yksyks: Hmmm... [Ctrl] + [Win] doesn't work in this build (
8509) - no BACK.

Markmarkg85 Friday, June 30, 2006 7:29:59 PM

that`s just on time to call it a weekly wink good job guys smile

Kamikaze321 Friday, June 30, 2006 7:31:05 PM

Hey,

c'mon guys go to my homepage www.super-physik.de and look at the top left corner, or go to Bilder and any link there ( there are pictures) they all collapse to one line. I have correct w3c code, but opera cant even interpret it, it was fixed in one of the builds, but then it was there again. Even so it was fixed once, it was so ugly, pictures had no correct size etc... just look how Firefox shows my homepage... first fix things like this then start making things like "Newsfeeds can now be renamed".
