Is there an ubuntu repository where I can get the latest weeklies? deb.opera.com doesn't seem to have the latest weeklies :frown:

Paul Skinner 7. July 2006, 16:21

Why did the size of the Classic build go up, but the MSI build go down?

Still a horizontal scroll-bar on www.adobe.com

Tommy A. Olsen 7. July 2006, 16:21

@Tommy2k4: The weeklies are not in any repository. Just come here, or subscribe to the feed to get the latest updates.

otzi 7. July 2006, 16:21

'UNIX notes

no, correct command is 'rpm -Uhv --nodeps opera-package.rpm' at least on SUSE 10.1 x64 (the depency missing is linux-gate.so.1 )

Sykora Skywave 7. July 2006, 16:22

Greate stuff with the Ubuntu release. Opera is clawing it's way up, slowly, but surely.

Mark Gillespie 7. July 2006, 16:38

Cannot print emails from Sent folder. Raised bug report 219262

Casey 7. July 2006, 16:42

Ugh. The drop down search bar still doesn't drop down when you hit the down arrow on the keyboard. I use it too much to miss that... Still using build 8432 until that's fixed.

Does anyone else have that reported as a bug? Should I?

Bill P 7. July 2006, 16:44

Pandora widget issue (old) but still a problem - though the widget works. Every time I reload Opera the widget exists but doesn't function nor is visible even though it shows in the taskbar. The widget must be deleted, cache emptied and then the widget re-dl'ed for it to work.

And to add insult to injury if in the same session I close the widget it will not work if reopened.

SUSE 10.1 x64

Roy 7. July 2006, 16:48

- NTLM should now work through HTTP proxies

- Typed history is now removed when deleting history from prefs

Cool Beans! Also, this build seems noticeably faster.

Alexis Deveria 7. July 2006, 16:49

Thanks for the Mac attention.
Regression bugs, however, remain:

1. Bug #214395 (would love to have more than one widget in background)
2. Bug #219267 Arrow keys won't select search engine any more.

FataL 7. July 2006, 16:49

How about BAK files? I don't see any changes...
BAK files still not generate.

Andrew 7. July 2006, 16:50

Still has the annoying cache problem :frown:

FataL 7. July 2006, 16:55

Newegg.com categories links still jumping when hover.

robert wilson 7. July 2006, 16:56

no linux static build?

Federico 7. July 2006, 17:00

Wow now http://admin3.imaginationatwork.com/LaunchPage suddenly works great opera team i love thee

Tim Altman 7. July 2006, 17:19

@Zybex: Would you please provide more details about the problem you're having?

Ranjan Grover 7. July 2006, 17:20

What's the difference between

opera_9.01-20060706.5-shared-qt_en_i386.deb and
opera_9.01-20060706.6-shared-qt_en_i386.deb?

Oh and spell check works in gmail just fine if you use plain text format.

Alexis Deveria 7. July 2006, 17:20

@SirCasey

I just noticed your comment, glad to see that's been bothering you too (um, well you know what I mean). Didn't know that was on the Windows build too, interesting. Wasn't sure if it was significant enough to warrant a bug report, so I never did. But if you like, go ahead, just share the number you get out of it.

Jasmo 7. July 2006, 17:20

While there still are bugs around there's no new bugs (regressions) came up so when time passes we will get better and better product

Casey 7. July 2006, 17:27

@Fyrd:

Brief summary of the problem encountered:
Drop down search bar doesn't drop down when using the down arrow.

What URL triggers this bug, if any?
It's a build issue, doesn't matter where you are.

Describe in 3 steps or more how to reproduce this bug:
1. Go to the search bar (Google, etc)
2. Hit the down arrow on your keyboard
3. Nothing happens.

When following the steps described above:
1. What do you expect to happen?
It should drop down. Like it did back in build 8432.

2. What actually happens?
It doesn't.

bug-219267

parsien 7. July 2006, 17:29

Keep up the good work

Alexis Deveria 7. July 2006, 17:31

@SirCasey

 You da man. Thanks.

Lucas 7. July 2006, 17:34

Still:
bug 214435
bug 215619
bug 215629

Dierk Haasis 7. July 2006, 17:34

although I didn't change anything between builds that worked and the 9-series, my visited links keep bein visited longer than I want. I have set them to get back to not visited after 2 hours.

Either this is a bug - then please fix it, it worked in builds before 9 and into the 9-series (forgot when it got lost) - or the setting was inadvertently changed.

So I can check it: How to set up Opera (in config obviosly) such that links become un-visited after 2 hours?

joffe 7. July 2006, 17:42

rock on.

Alexandr 7. July 2006, 17:47

To Junyor: this problem is not new in this weekly. It appears after mailbase format change.

For example you have file /mail/store/account3/2006/03/11/123.mbs

When you delete corresponding letter and have no more files in this folder, it still exist.

More and more empty folders still here...

G-Bojko 7. July 2006, 17:58

Yeap!!!

It's faster. Great.

Tim Altman 7. July 2006, 17:59

@Zybex: OK. We have a bug report on that issue.

@Evo2Me: See http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=142702

@Naorn: Bug 214435 is not a bug. Here're your steps for reproduction:

Reproduction:
1. Click f4 etc to open panels
2. Click right mouse button on te bookmark Transfers, Mail, Contact etc and choose Customize.
3. Find the line "Panel placement"
4. You see there 4 option: Left, Right, Floating, Off
5. Click on the Cancel button
6. Now: Choose menu: Tools->Appearance->Toolbars and when the Panels Toolbar is open (whe clicked f4 before) click be left mouse button the Transfers,Mail,Contact etc bookmark. Now you can see that we can Place that panel for example on the top, and choose the Style, etc.

Expected results:
The problem is that the good idea would be to see that options in 6. when we click customize by mouse right button.

In step #2, you're looking at the Panels tab. In step #6, you're looking at the Toolbars tab. Switch tabs and you'll see what you want.

We cannot reproduce bug 215629. Try reducing your font size/minimum font size to see if the problem goes away.

HeeZy 7. July 2006, 18:13

ahh, the IP cookie bug is still in. but great build, tho.

Alexandr 7. July 2006, 18:18

One more report.
After installing this weekly, all IRC inline styling is ignored. All colors is black and exit/enters messages in purple instead of green.

I fix this issue by replacing current im.css with im.css from opera 9 final and it helps.

Martin Rauscher 7. July 2006, 18:27

I don't know if it's my PC or this Build, but Opera hangs every few seconds TOTALY (if you click on it in title bar will the "does not respond" Text appear) for 2-20 Seconds. It happens when I scroll, when I fetch my feeds, or my mail....
This is VERY disturbing...
