Yeah ! thanks a lot :-)

Rafald.i.z. Friday, September 8, 2006 4:39:05 PM

rseiler: This IS fixed from what I can see.

But I'm a bit dissapointed, there are not so much bugfixes as I would like (expected) to see...

arghwashier Friday, September 8, 2006 4:39:50 PM

Finally a new version smile but still no fix for smooth scrolling under Linux :'( and the .deb conflicts with Opera installed but doesn't upgrade, so I manually have to remove the older version of Opera before installing the new version.

Martin Suelzlemarsu Friday, September 8, 2006 4:40:35 PM

I still a big problem to serve to real xhtml-files with mime application/xhtml+xml. That files are correct, works on FF, IE and also when I load that files in opera with file:///...

Opera shows me syntax errors like

XML parsing failed: syntax error (Line: 0, Character: 0)
Error:unexpected end-of-file
or( with F5)
XML parsing failed: syntax error (Line: 270, Character: 193)
Error:unexpected end-of-file

This problem for xml-files occours since build 8518.

In 8509 xhtml-pages are displayed without any problem.

best regards
marsu

That is fixed. Please check before complaining about an issue not being fixed - not *everything* fixed is mentioned in the changelog smile

rseiler Friday, September 8, 2006 4:46:27 PM

d.i.z.: OK, I'll take your word for it. I didn't see that it was in initial tests, but I'll look again.

Alexis DeveriaFyrd Friday, September 8, 2006 4:47:34 PM

On Fridays, I always open a new window, turn off all the toolbars and images, resize the window to tiny, and shove it into a corner where I can only see the amount of comments, then have that auto-reloading every minute and I wait until the comments count goes back to 0, indicating a new post. smile

Thank you!

I've iterated through all my bugs ( http://zajec.net/bugi ) and also some other ones and only two of them were fixed in this build.

One of the most important fixes not mentioned in changelog is a:visted performance fixes. I'm very happy about that, but we knew that this one was coming. Also fix for mousescroll event and constant file quering are nice.

But I expected to see some fixes for xErath, quiris and mine other bugs(related to widgets/broken tables handling/regexps/events).
Everything is documented so I see no point in listing them here.

Alexis DeveriaFyrd Friday, September 8, 2006 4:51:20 PM

OMFG! You guys fixed the keyboard-arrows-to-select-search-engine-on-mac bug! You're my heroes!!! bigsmile

zombie Friday, September 8, 2006 4:51:44 PM

opera:about still reports version 9.01 build 400 after upgrading. (Fedora Core 5).

rseiler Friday, September 8, 2006 4:53:17 PM

csant: I didn't assume that it would be in the release notes, and did check, but the file accesses I saw were not as a result of this build. I corrected the original post. Thanks.

Rafald.i.z. Friday, September 8, 2006 4:58:32 PM

rseiler: You should have not removed your post as mine does not makes sense now wink

Doliprane'Doliprane Friday, September 8, 2006 4:59:10 PM

I hope others bug-s will also be fixed too in the next Weeklie bigsmile

Kenneth Crudupkennycrudup Friday, September 8, 2006 4:59:12 PM

@zombie: you must have gotten something wrong; I get

Version 9.02 Internal
Build 419
Platform Linux
System i686, 2.6.18-rc6

Raistlin Friday, September 8, 2006 4:59:22 PM

wow, it's seems to be ok... low connection bug fixed...
Thanks!

rseiler Friday, September 8, 2006 5:02:21 PM

@Raistlin: You mean OperaNoobie's dial-up-speed Javascript firing issue? If so, he'll be ecstatic about that!

Can anyone confirm that the momentary-lags-when-typing-text problem is gone? I haven't seen it yet in this version.

It's been mentioned in various threads, such as this one:
http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=152727&t=1157735240&page=1#comment1683615

"While typing this message I encountered the textarea lag multiple times. What this means is that I'm typing normally and suddenly the characters stop showing up in the textbox even though I'm still typing. With 9.0, after a lag all the characters I had typed since they stopped showing up would appear suddenly, now the textarea just doesnt respond at all sometimes."

Raistlin Friday, September 8, 2006 5:12:00 PM

@rseiler
yes, and my gprs-speed-and-pings smile

FavDjiXas Friday, September 8, 2006 5:12:18 PM

I like opera 8, is this ok? LOL

I always get problems with wands, some not works, some when I select got "blank" info and not fills anything, today wanted to login to domain management, I had 2 usenames so I couldn't select first one, opera was keeping filling information for second user even in wands window I was be able to see my first username. Then I thougth I will delete username 2 so I can login to username 1, once deleted username 2 unsername 1 gone too sad

nolovelust Friday, September 8, 2006 5:12:30 PM

"Also note that the Windows XP Media Center Edition remote control is supported and can be mapped in keyboard.ini/keyboard setup."

it takes control of volume key and even you unmap it it wont let voluve key to functioan as volume key!!!!

my volume key uses same application as my remote on my laptop

zombie Friday, September 8, 2006 5:13:19 PM

@kennycrudup

After a reboot opera:about reports the correct version.
