2)
a. Updated news about opera on some key blogs
b. Hability to watch items
c. The photo albums

3) Multilanguage support (I assume that you refer to what we want or need), this only feature is what is stopping all my realitives from joining in

1> Was using Opera browser and came across the link somwhere (www.opera.com hompage )

2> The community
Good design that looks nice and works well
Ease of use compared to some other sites

3> The descriptive filenames on my photos. Ever since the upgrade new photos that I upload are given a "random" name that I have to go back and change manually.

1) I signed up so I could post on the forums.

2) The three best things include the forums, the number of insanely devoted and helpful volunteers, and the multitude of options I can set in my account.

3) The ability to automatically import blog posts from other sites like LiveJournal, Blogger, etc.

[1]
- needed a good blog with lots of free space

[2]
- nice staff / community
- interesting Photo Albums
- It's about the community and not about fanboyism to a Browser, just pure fun

[3]
- The personal file section needs an update, I want to have litte preview pictures for all files since I ran out of space and I have no time or will to click on all files just to see if I can delete it

1. I joined my.opera because I had tired of keeping a personal webspace up to date with Dreamweaver - too time consuming; from loyalty to a great browser I had been using for years; the blog features.

2. a)Cool community!
b)The photo albums on the blogs wok great for me.
c) Ease of use/customisability

3. There are three things!! Javascript functionality in blogs, or at least an empty space in the sidebar to embed embeddable functions. I'm 51% of the way through my space in less than 18 months - 300mbs is a lot, but I'd like the option for more space - I'd pay!!! The lack of slimmer themes - the new ones are all very wide and some PC's are still set at 800x600 - they can only see half my blog!!

  1. At first because I use Opera browser and wanted to contribute to Opera browser community
  2. Already answered, but still:
    a. people at myOpera are very frendly
    b. design and code are clean (as web designer myself I like usable, clean, accessible web sites)
    c. no AD (yet?) and no spam
  3. Ability to include JavaScripts on pages

  1. why did you join my.opera?
A last effort to make my homepage a bit tech free, so I could promote my hompage among friends.

  2. what are the 3 best things about my.opera?
    - It is free.
    - A lot of people with the same intrest as me.
    - Easy to find new blog entries/information when it is updated.

  3. what's the #1 thing that you miss on my.opera?
A page to see/manage my watched blogs. Not sure if you can see my private posts, but I have ended up making a private post, with links to blogs I often roam (not really friends, and not really spotlight material p:). Which is not really a good solution at all.

1.)

I joined after I downloaded Opera, but stayed off for a while. It was the help I got from some in the forums on an issue, and then meeting all the others there that kept me coming back. Everybody is so kooky and fun. P:

2.)

a.) Meeting people from around the world who all use the best browser on Earth.
b.) No advertising
c.) A really great development team who have built a really great community. :D

3.)

Better support for widescreen monitors. It's really annoying to have to look at a small portion of my screen when I have so much more to use. Oh, and an easier way for us to put photos inline with the attach images process. Nothing much more than that.

1. For the forums (when that's all it was back in 2002). When I decided I wanted to blog, the my.opera blogs were the natural choice!
2. The functionality - the blogs, photo albums, tagging, private forums. Not to mention the friendly people!
3. Webmail and feed aggregator. I'd love to be able to import an OPML of my feeds into my blog Links.

I found this site through the preinstalled feeds on Opera Mini. I think it was the N+ group that attracted me to it, plus I couldn't get into my e-mail using Opera Mini and was looking for a forum to help.

The three best things have got to be; 1) the community (despite certain idiots trying to ruin it for everyone), 2) the ease of use for new members and 3) the user created groups.

There's a few things I'd like to see appear on my.opera, but that's mainly cause I like things to be just so. Flavour of the month would have to be a revamped Friends system, with the ability to remove yourself from other people's lists. Certain people are harassing young girls on here by adding them and refusing to remove them. Even blocking them doesn't change that, hence my suggestion.

By Furie, # 12. May 2007, 09:02:23

1) Almost certainly for the forums when I first downloaded Opera, but the blog (journal as it was then) soon hooked me completely.

2) (i) friendly and responsive support/developer team
(ii) Great layouts and uncluttered look
(iii) Regular feature upgrades

3) Cross-linking one photo into several albums (means I waste space)

why did you join my.opera?
I had a habit of moving my blog from one place to another. It went from YayHooray to MSN Spaces and then I found Opera Community.

what are the 3 best things about my.opera?
1. The blogging software is great, straight-forward and easy to use - and it comes with visitor statistics!
2. There aren't really (m)any limits in terms of how you style your blog. You can make it look unique as you like, so long as you can be bothered.
3. The community's full of friendly like-minded people that makes it pleasurably to be a member.

what's the #1 thing that you miss on my.opera?
compatibility with other web services.

I've noticed quite a few people have mentioned above that they'd like to be able to have 'Javascript functionality' and I agree somewhat. I realise it comes with security risks, but would be interested in seeing new methods of implementing things.

Most of the time all I wish to add to my blog are scripts of some sort, be it my latest events from Upcoming.org, claiming my blog on MyBlogLog.com, adding a Last.fm widget to the sidebar, or a flickr badge, etc.

Would it be possible to implement these things as pre-built modules (kinda like Netvibes, I guess) where all the user has to do is add their own username for it to work?

What are the 3 best things about my.opera?

A family album access mode.

Opera is the perfect browser, and the perfect blog system. I recommend it to my pupils, and we use it in the education.
One thing though, one crucial thing... I remember when we neared 500.000 users, and the server (singularis!!) became slooooow. Don't ever let that happen again, it's like making a beautiful sailing ship and only put a tiny sail up - because we don't want to use too much money on the sails, do we, Opera?

1. To get fast downloads

The three best things:

The Blog space & Blogging community
Blinding speed for page loads from external web sites
No ads

#1 thing I miss is a fully-featured word processor for blogging that is compatible with MS Word

1.why did you join my.opera?
I use Opera, I blog, I want to join the community. I began to know it.

2.what are the 3 best things about my.opera?
300MB storage. Easy to select SKIN page, with preview. Recent 'portal.opera.com', which rocks!

3.what's the #1 thing that you miss on my.opera?
Fonts are too small, like most of so-called blog. Why not use 100%/medium at my.opera blog? Why do you specify 'font-family'? Considered accessibility? Small fonts are more readable? Use liquid style, more. Don't follow the others.

Q: Why did you join my.opera?
A: well, I needed a browser that wouldn't close every time I opened more than two tabs, and in the process met some nice people that I have come to make friends with. and hope to stay here for quite some time.

Q: What are the 3 best things about my.opera?
A: 1. the people I have met and put on my friends list. I actually have more friends here than on YIM, MSN, ICQ, AIM, & Pogo put together.

2. the fact that everyone looks out for everyone else, and makes sure they feel at home, even when they are new to forums, blogs, and people making them feel at home.

3. what isn't best about Opera?

1. I was seeking for less vulnerable browser and found it. And M2 mail client is the best and fastest of all I've tried before. But still some minor problems are with newsreader.

2. Best things in my.opera:

- people
- photo albums
- opera team
- design (sorry for 4th good thing)

3. If I was my.opera sysadmin I'd be thinking of moving to another DB system, f.e. Progress, for more robustness.

Anyway, my.opera is very good as it is.

Keep working!

I was sick of WAP. Not having a pc, I was at the mercy of my carrier. With Mini, I can go so many more places! At first I just used it to search more efficiently, then I started going to the forums and wound up in the Lounge.:lol:I haven't left! Everyone here is so nice and helpful I just couldn't think of going anywhere else!
The only thing I "miss" is not having a first class email service to go with my first class browser,Opera Mini!
