Hi, there. This is my first post here by the way, so be gentle ;) Let's get straight to the point. We want to apologize for the outages today which were due to a number of problems happening at the same time.

We are constantly working on improving the site, and we are working to avoid similar incidents like today happening again.

It is always good to hear that things have happened, even if there is not much content in the message. The acknowledgment that it really did happen and it wasn't just me or my problem makes a big difference.

It's many factors, and I don't have the full overview. It's basically an apology and a notice that we are trying to avoid such things. Honest! :wink:

Early this afternoon I got the image with the confused monkey. An hour or so later even the image wasn't loaded. It looked like something was really wrong... :whistle:

Any ideas when the problems with uploading photos will be fixed I get a 500 Internal server error come up ever time I try?

I'm still getting the "500 Internal Server Error
The server monkeys made a horrible and unrecoverable mistake...
Please try again later. If the problem persists, feel free to contact us." This has been an issue for about a week now. Any word on when this will be resolved??

So you have time to see it's full beauty instead of it speeding on by. :wink:

But then, that wont work in the case of OC - slow or non-existant service is crap. I'm sure it's more fustrating for Opera than us. :wink:

How are Bigma, Bigpa and Fatboy holding out now?

our Chinese users can't visit myopera ,reason is: blocked by china great fire wall ,any ideas ?except proxy..

I had a funny thing happen when I tried to upload a photo to my blog post. After I selected my photo, saw the photo, clicked center, the "My Opera Comm." page showed up in place of my photo.

As W*stock, darkness60:00 and gotart I also can not upload photos in a new album. I always get the error

"500 Internal Server Error The server monkeys made a horrible and unrecoverable mistake... Please try again later. If the problem persists, feel free to contact us."

How to reproduce: open a new account, create a new album, choose some pictures of differing characteristica, choose scale to 640*480, hit upload.

Out of 10 tries, I received the error 8 times.

Can you reproduce it?

I received same message several times last two weeks. Upload to my 365 group messed up. There are several blank fields with no pics making big hole in my album, after that I uploaded new pics with success. Messages appeared on my blog albums when uploading pics, but not everytime. I tried after that, only twice unsuccesfully. What about OpenDNS?

Nicomen: Relax, I was only joking :smile: I honestly didn't notice anything had gone wrong, but loved that was someone was already online talking to the community to keep us informed, and even apologise! How many companies do that nowadays??? Answer: not many.

I got up this morning and tried to upload photos in the Photos section of my Blog and guess what?! . . . . It WORKS again!!!! I don't know what happened, but the computer Gods came and fixed the problem and I'm back in business again!! Thank you soooooooooo much.

Ah good to hear, then my fix might have worked. Are you by any chance using MSIE 6? It supposedly sends image/pjpeg as MIME-TYPE when uploading JPGs.

Maybe useful info: When upload of pics was interrupted /connection broke/ or was unsuccessful /with 500 internal monkey unrecoverable error/, I went back, or stopped loading button, then retried clicking upload button. Sometimes helps.
When it is not successful several times, I quit, and try another time /day/ and everything goes well.

Wow! that was fast! :lol:

Well, let me tell you: I can access all of the tabs on my profile (pics, about, etc) and even use my watchlist but I cannot access my actual blog (my.opera.com/dannii) I was able to post a blog entry using the "Post" feature on the community blog. It's actually quite weird. :yikes:
