How many friends has the most friendlier user of MyOpera?

, ,

He has actually 2809 friends. But he's banned.
The next one, good guy, at least not banned, has 2808 friends. Congratulations!

But I won't tell you who he is... Can you guess?

Espen ?

Furie 11. September 2008, 14:03

How many have added him back? Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I prefer my friends list to be a list of actual friends. People that I chat with regularly on a site and get on with. I don't understand these people who add everyone who's ever come onto their page or that they've seen in forums. It's like asking a stranger for their phone number just because they've walked into the same shop you use.

I'm more interested in the banned one and whether his ban was related to the number of friends he claimed.

Cosimo Streppone 11. September 2008, 14:17

BTW, I came to this because I'm working on something friends-related...
It's not Tamil, and it's not EspenAO

Furie 11. September 2008, 14:29

I'm assuming someone on the first most visited blogs page with that many people.

What ya working on? Is it the much asked for "I'm a fan of/they're my fans" change to the friends system? :D

Cosimo Streppone 11. September 2008, 14:34

@Furie: no, but that one is coming as well...

Furie 11. September 2008, 14:35

Hmmm, DotEd used to add people when they joined N+. Is it him?

Cosimo Streppone 11. September 2008, 14:41

His name matches
/^\W[A-Z][a-z]{3}$/
. Go figure!
Sorry guys, I need to work as well... :-)

Maybe it could be a contest or something...

agony 11. September 2008, 16:33

Is it an active User? or someone who just added friends long time ago and never wrote anything again? :>

It's more likely the latter.

Tamil 11. September 2008, 16:37

Usernames in most visited blog doesn't match /^\W[A-Z][a-z]{3}$/ pattern. :sherlock:

Thanks for the regex!

damn :\

Tamil 11. September 2008, 16:57

@VJgamer, :cheers:

Geoff Girardin 11. September 2008, 17:00

 Haha of course!

Timothy Conner 11. September 2008, 17:00

Thanks Tamil!

He was on EspenAO friend's list. Pretty sure he's the one, I would be pretty disappointed if there were another person with that many friends that matched that expression!

Tamil 11. September 2008, 17:05

>Seth has only 2770 friends (138 pages * 20 friends/page + 10 friends on page 139)

:sherlock:

Geoff Girardin 11. September 2008, 17:30

And so the hunt continues.

Do Paris Hilton or Tara Reid Blog on Opera?

Andrew Nguyen 12. September 2008, 00:35

Suntana 12. September 2008, 01:45

Well, alrighty then. I'm glad I asked. Sometimes random foolish questions yields Good Results. :D Unfortunately with my Dial Up there's no way I'll be able to remotely attempt to watch the VidClips ... whatever might be on them.

Andrew Nguyen 12. September 2008, 01:47

Hey, you're not the only one dealing with Dial-Up... P:

Suntana 12. September 2008, 01:52

Believe it or not though, mine is SLOWER than yours. I remember you mentioning somewhere that you were downloading something at the rate of about 5.75 KB/ Sec or thereabouts. I am NOT that lucky. If I reach 3.2 KB/Sec, that is considered FAST. A lot of downloads for me START at around 3.2 KB/Sec. But, they peter down into the 2.75 / 2.50 KB/Sec range. :irked:

Andrew Nguyen 12. September 2008, 01:56

:sherlock: I must be one of the luckey Dial Up users out there with a decent speed rating. (I avg 5Kbs/sec with Frostwire)

If only those DSL/Cabel providers offered their services with no contracts...

Cosimo Streppone 12. September 2008, 09:11

It happens to be >Seth.
But, how comes the friends paging is wrong?
It could be a bug? or maybe some of his friends are banned, so they are not counted.
Of course, I counted them because I was doing a raw SELECT from the database...
Ok, so I'm a noob. :-)

38 friends banned?

Suntana 12. September 2008, 13:39

It's possible I guess. If someone has 2770 Friends, it certainly increases the odds that 38 could be rambunctious enough to get banned. :D That is only like around 1.3% isn't it? Not high when you look at it that way.

Timothy Conner 12. September 2008, 15:14

Woohoo! :hat:

>Seth FTW!

53north 25. September 2008, 19:11

I've seen a bit of hard swearing on various pages...what does one have to do to get banned?

Mark 26. September 2008, 03:02

Bill Clinton?

Furie 26. September 2008, 10:40

Answer and a half!
