920. It's the version number for Opera's next big release.

Well, that's a big task to get the big plize, so let's do some calculations:

  1. (700+1200) / 2 = 950 (well, a pretty average result)
  2. SQRT(700*1200) = 916.5 (doesn't make too much sense)
  3. 2 / (1/700 + 1/1200) = 884 (I love this harmony, but it's a question of the real world so this result could not be real)
  4. (1200 - 700) / ln(1200/700) = 927.6498 (that's a log(arithm)ic choice, 928 is not too bad IMHO)
  5. (916.5*916.5) / 950 = 884 (this general approach seems to be pretty harmonic)
  6. tan(7/700 + 6/1200) / 42 * 12 monkey = 1091.348156 monkey (I should add some more improbability to get the monkeys turn instantly into money ...)
  7. (847 + 763.5 + 1046 + 920 + 1024 + 701.5 + whiteboard(!) + 1000 + 711 + 664(?) + 546(?) + 1153.27 + 666(?) + 920) / 14-1 + 1*! + 3*? = 693.7!??? (do you recognize it? it's the community solution, some economists say this should give a pretty good result - a pity it's below the lower border)

But wait, I'm part of the community, too, so here is my final result:
(
847
+763.5
+1046
+920
+1024
+701.5
+whiteboard(!)
+1000
+711
+664(?)
+546(?)
+1153.27
+666(?)
+920
+950
+916.5
+884
+927.6498
+884
+1091.348156 monkey
)
/ 20-1 monkey +1*! +3*?
=
875 monkeys ! ???
- is my solution right assuming that every monkey equals one unit of money?

According to my calculations it's about 996 (may be 994).

Well, this is an old but hard game... in Italy Raffaella Carrà made a television game like this using beans for many many weeks! p:

So, what to do? Well, lets investigate! :sherlock:

The result is between 700 and 1200. In the middle there is 950 that can be the future version number of Opera!
But the last weekly version number is 9.20 so can be 920 even if the stable release is the 9.10 version so the right number can be 910.

The perfect number is 3 and only a number (between 700 and 1200) contain three 0: 1000 that can be the result because The Opera logo is an O. in addition if i open the link panel in this page i can find a link containing the number 1000!

So my numbers are 950, 920, 910, 1000, 1000.

If i have to choose one, it is 1000 because three Operas are better than two!!!

Ciao, Igor :ninja:

BTW, this is a contest for the IS Developers only, not entire my.opera  But, i'll announce the correct answer when I get in all the answers! So, keep guessing! :-)
