Server Maintenance Today

I'm sure you've noticed some downtime this morning. This is due to the good folks from the system administration dept executing parts of their "Operation Afterburner" today, aiming to have the Opera Community running faster and more stable.

This includes taking down some servers and putting in 50KNOK worth of RAM, and setting up Web caches for the user file repository. Unfortunately, some of these things will require full page downtime (particularly putting more RAM in the file server box).

So, don't be ..alarmed.. if the community is down for a couple of minutes. It's all for the best. I promise.

More or less business as usual, in other words. :ko: monkey

50KNOK worth of RAM

I'd believe you if you said KB, MB or even Terrabyte... but KNOK. Psh!

You've just made that up!

He probably meant 50K NOK or 50000 NOK worth of ram. Oh and don't ask me how much that is. Ask Google

For the average user that is lot, for full time heavy duty server that is about the averag cost of an upgrade. Thx for the clarification.

Does anyone know why my blog's CSS and pics aren't showing as of about two hours before this comment is posted? Also, is there a way to backup all my blog posts? I want a copy on my computer. Just the text will suffice.

Thanks!

Vorlath, yes. The file server went away. A system administrator was recently spotted while making a run for the server room

In other words, should be back up soon.

I had to clear my cache to get it to work again. Did you try that?
