My Opera November 2007 Release: Changelog

Posted by EspenAO · Tags: , , , ...

Good news, everyone! This months release include the following list of changes and fixes:

  • The A-Z listing of photo albums now display 28 items (instead of 10).
  • Fixed a bug which caused a 400 error message when minimizing and maximizing groups in the Forum section.
  • Updated text when you search for potential Opera fans. Displayed "photos", while now it's "people".
  • Usernames with spaces are now displayed without encoding in the shoutbox (no more %20).
  • We've fixed a problem which printed out (lots of) extra BR tags when writing a forum post, blog comment, etc.
  • Fixed a bug with (BBCode) lists. It now correctly displays all points.
  • You're now able to delete old comments again if you're the owner of the blog and/or group.
  • Fixed a lot of bugs with the join group feature.
  • The blogs section used to end up empty sometimes. This has now been fixed.
  • There were problems receiving updates in the Link Web interface on My Opera. This has now been fixed and always displays recent changes.
  • Bookmarklets (JavaScript bookmarks) are now supported in the Link Web interface.
  • Lots of "under the hood" fixes (as always). Fixed some broken blogs, removed (old) groups and some security fixes.
  • Avatars are now properly displayed on dev.opera.com.

But I was led to believe this was a 'feature'?

Not fixed: When you edit a post in blog comments, and that post is on, say, page 2 of the comments (anywhere but the first page), when you save the post you're returned to page 1 instead of your comment. It's quite annoying and unnecessary. When you're writing a new post on a page greater than 1, it does properly keep you where you are, so the problem is only when editing an existing post.

Not enhanced: Still no username in the RSS feed for blog comments, so one still has no idea who's speaking and therefore conversations lack meaning and clarity.

garydenness: what issue is not fixed btw.?

And btw. the no linefeed issues was fixed, sorry a bug sneaked out in, ehm out -- but it's still in the queue...

The rest of the bugs are at least filed, and we of course want to fix as many as possible, if not all.

I have tried to set up my opera blog to use either Zempt or Windows Live Writer. Everything is fine until you get ready to publish. I get this error message:

The response to the POST method received from the weblog server was invalid:
The HTTP response was missing the required Location header.

I have it set up to use the Atom protocol and the atom feed URI from the footer of my blog. It sniffs out the blog and I can view it, just cannot publish to it.
