Memang ada banyak pengartian yang muncul di masyarakat Jawa Timur, terlebih dari Surabaya atau dari Nganjuk. Sebab masyarakat pada umumnya mendengar kata "Asolole" dari artis dangdut Trio Macan yang mem-booming dengan lagu Iwak Peyek. Tetapi di kawasan Jawa Timur lebih sering mendengar kata "Asolole" dari artis Dangdut lainnya, misalnya dari Group Sagita dari Kota Nganjuk yang lebih terkenal dengan lagu-lagu Ngamen. Memang banyak versi pengartian kata "Asolole", namun yang lebih umum diartikan sebagai singkatan dari kata "AYO LHO LEK" yang berarti mengajak untuk ikut bergoyang dangdut. Dan karena pengucapan yang cepat dan beriringan dengan musik dangdut, maka adanya sedikit penangkapan yang berubah menjadi ASOLOLE.

The words arsehole/asshole are mostly used to call someone stupid. So, in english if you say "heyyy! .. he / she is an asshole (arsehole) it means you think that person is stupid or dumb or bad or a jerk. It's a word that is used to insult.

But some people use it as a joke. If friends get together and maybe they get drunk. Maybe one friend says..."heyy.. let's go and look at the stars" ! Then maybe one friend will laugh and say... "nahhh! ..don't be an asshole! ... that's too boring!"

The word description of asshole (arsehole) rferes to the place at the back of the body between where the curves are ...so if you call someone an asshole (arsehole) that's the thing it describes.

BUT ... the word asshole (arsehole) is now used widely in songs of protest or rebellion.
... if you look at someone fiercely and say "Hey! You are an asshole!" it means "I don't like you!" "I hate you" .. "you are a jerk" ... "Go away!!" "Get lost" "Stop that!" "Drop dead!"

The word "asshole' is an insulting way to tell people they are stupid or irritating or ridiculous.
