Betcha didn't know if you've got boxes of old PCs and peripherals, you can take them to Goodwill and they'll recycle them for you. Check out the partnership between Goodwill Industries and Dell:

i am recycling through Goodwill the following : 2 huge boxes of PC parts and cables, 17 monitors, 20 computers, and 4 printers. you probably don't have that much in your attic, but putting your old electronics into the recycling process keeps mercury and other poisons out of the landfills!!!
