symbian themes, Mobile, themes
I think I have most of the tweaks worked out of my mobile theme. :crosses finger: I'll improve some stuff on this one, but I need a break from all the blue!

There are two versions of this,
one with the default icons (Well, most of them anyway. I need to fix a few.) and
one with
Flahorn's S60 Prototype Icons. Both themes are compatible with S60 v.3 FP2. I'm still figuring this program out, so if something isn't working, please let me know.
Oh! As a side note while I think about it. For some reason when you're using your mobile, Opera makes you download a link to the file, then when you click the link you can download the actual file. It's weird, but it works.

Mobile, symbian, pc programs, Nokia
Yesterday while meandering around the web, I came across a really cool (and completely free) program called
Carbide.ui. Carbide.ui is a "photoshop" for Symbian S60 and S40 mobile themes. This program allows you to customize over 1,000 different elements for your theme. That's a lot of stuff! The program itself is pretty simple and straightforward to use. I don't know what I was expecting from something like that, but "simple" wasn't quite it.
Hopefully by the end of the month, I can get reasonably decent rendition of the theme that I can release for anyone interested.
I'm just so excited that I can make my own themes though! w00t!

Tweets60 Review
My Twitter Page
Twim
I'm a Twitter user. However my little 140 character digital pasttime has hit a bit of a snag. Apparently there is something known as the
Twitpocalypse. This excerpt from the Twitpocalypse site best explains it:
The Twitpocalypse is similar to the Y2K
bug. The unique identifier associated to
each tweet has now exceeded
2,147,483,647
For some of your favorite third-party
Twitter services not designed to handle
such a case, the sequence will suddenly
turn into negative numbers. At this
point, they are very likely to
malfunction or crash.
Unfortunately, one of my preferred Twitter apps for my mobile,
Tweets60, was affected. Happily, I found another fairly good little app called
Twim that works, even though it's not as pretty as Tweets60.
I'm just happy that I have a working Twitter client for now.
OK, I'm going to put an end to my late night mobile ramblings for now. My eyes aren't too happy with me right now and I know I'm not going to want to get up when my alarm goes off.

Good night!

Mobile, symbian, mobile themes, Nokia
I decided to search the web for some new themes so I could change things up a bit more. I found one called "coffee" and knew that had to be mine!
My main screen:
Here are a couple of my menus:
I'm pretty thrilled with this one. I have two others which I might not use as often since they're darker themes.
As I test out sites with themes and stuff for mobiles, I'll start adding the links for others. Most of the sites will be for the Symbian OS, so some folks might not be able to use them.

Apparentlly I can blog (among other things) on my new cell on
my WLAN.

I knew that my work connection sucked, I just didn't know that it sucked so bad that my mobile couldn't download anything via its WLAN. That is so sad!
*I stand corrected. I can blog at work now that I downloaded a better browser.

w00t for Opera Mini! I'm still not sure that I can download, but that's OK! At least I can blog now.

Mobile, Blog, Nokia
Some of you know from a previous
post that I was looking for a different cell phone. Well, today I got my phone.

I was torn beween the
Nokia N79 and the
Nokia E71. I finally decided on a Nokia N79.

I'll switch my contract to the local company in about two weeks.

w00t! Alright, enough of the details and time for pictures!

GSM, Mobile, Alltel
My mobile phone contract will be up in March with Alltel (although I can renew it right now)and since I want to get a mobile phone that I can blog on when I'm away from the computer, I decided to do some research. I'm going to switch over to the local company around here, even though their service probably won't be as great, but the features are better. My main conflict now is, "What phone should I get?" I know next to nothing about blogging from a mobile, but I want the opportunity to mess with it. I'm leaning towards a
Nokia 6300 right now, but here are some of my choices:
Nokia:
2610
6085
6103
6300
Motorola:
KRZR
RAZR V3i
ROKR Z6
W510
Sony Ericsson:
Cybershot K790
W200a
W580i
It sounds like most of the unlocked phones will be compatible with the network as well, so that give me some variety as well.
