I got to start the day by chasing my dog over to his bed in the living room when he grabbed something brownish near the door when I was getting ready to let him out. Thankfully he spit it out on his bed with the intention of playing with it, so I didn't have to fish it out of his mouth. Take a wild guess as to what Bear had. If you guessed an "ugly freaking spider" you'd be right. The little bastard (Bear) is lucky that it didn't bite him. Heck, I was surprised that it didn't bite him. I put Bear in the bedroom, so that I could take a picture or two and kill the thing in peace. I loathe spiders, but I did have a twinge of sympathy for this one. I doubt that's how it wanted to start (and end) the day either.



After the great spider killing of the morning and a nice toasty shower, I decided that I better get a few things done- laundry being first and foremost on the list. When I finished starting the washer, I decided to percolate some coffee for the day. I love percolated coffee. That is by far the best way to make coffee, in my opinion.

While the water was boiling for that, I did some dishes and seasoned my cast iron skillet. I hadn't used it for awhile and after washing it, it needed some greasy love.

Other than the spider, it has actually been a wonderful day thus far.

I was wandering through Safeway last night getting some stuff last night and decided to browse the coffee section in hopes of spying some good flavoured stuff (no such luck), when I saw this little gem:


I've been looking for Peets coffee in our Safeway since I moved here and finally I was able to get some! This is one of my favourite coffees, although it's a tad spendy, so it'll be an occasional treat. This made up for the past couple of weeks like you wouldn't believe. We have Fogler's at work and besides smelling like dog shit when it's brewing, it doesn't taste all that great and it's highly acidic. I can only handle about a cup or two of it at a time before it starts to wreak havoc with my system. Not to mention the fact that when two of three bosses make a pot of it, it looks more like tea than coffee. I don't want to see the bottom of my cup through coffee. That just isn't right at all!

At any rate, this is my highlight of the week.
