spider, coffee, Bear
I got to start the day by chasing my dog over to his bed in the living room when he grabbed something brownish near the door when I was getting ready to let him out. Thankfully he spit it out on his bed with the intention of playing with it, so I didn't have to fish it out of his mouth. Take a wild guess as to what Bear had. If you guessed an "ugly freaking spider" you'd be right. The little bastard (Bear) is lucky that it didn't bite him. Heck,
I was surprised that it didn't bite him. I put Bear in the bedroom, so that I could take a picture or two and kill the thing in peace. I loathe spiders, but I did have a twinge of sympathy for this one. I doubt that's how it wanted to start (and end) the day either.
After the great spider killing of the morning and a nice toasty shower, I decided that I better get a few things done- laundry being first and foremost on the list. When I finished starting the washer, I decided to percolate some coffee for the day.

I love percolated coffee. That is by far the best way to make coffee, in my opinion.

Preheating the carafe for the coffee
While the water was boiling for that, I did some dishes and seasoned my cast iron skillet. I hadn't used it for awhile and after washing it, it needed some greasy love.
Seasoning my skillet with Crisco. I wiped the excess off after a few minutes.
Other than the spider, it has actually been a wonderful day thus far.

coffee, Bear, Linux, PS3
Today's the day Bear has his surgery for his knee. He has a kneecap that pops on and off, so they're going to fix it up so it doesn't start wearing a big groove in the bone and give him really bad arthritis at a young age.

I miss the little guy already. I was a bit scared that he wouldn't go with the receptionist or vet tech, but he followed quite willingly, mostly because another dog went back there a few minutes before.
I'm thrilled that I go over whatever crud I had yesterday. I was feeling not so great (stomach type of thing), but it seems to have passed. YAY! I hate feeling pukey.
I just realized that it has been a while since I did a post that wasn't a survey or really short.
One of my bosses made
Folger's French Vanilla flavored coffee again. That stuff is wickedly disgusting in my opinion. I'm funny about the flavored coffees I drink. If I like it, I'll drink it for a treat, but not all the time. If I dislike it, I don't drink it, unless I can't find anything else to drink, and even then I have to be pretty desperate.
Yay! It's payday today! Sweet!
I'm trying to find enough info to install an alternate OS on my PS3. It's definitely going to be Linux, it's just a matter of which flavor I want to use. Hmm. More research.
I'm wrapping this up before I bore you horribly.

awesomeness, coffee
I was wandering through Safeway last night getting some stuff last night and decided to browse the coffee section in hopes of spying some good flavoured stuff (no such luck), when I saw this little gem:
I've been looking for Peets coffee in our Safeway since I moved here and finally I was able to get some! This is one of my favourite coffees, although it's a tad spendy, so it'll be an occasional treat.

This made up for the past couple of weeks like you wouldn't believe.

We have Fogler's at work and besides smelling like dog shit when it's brewing, it doesn't taste all that great and it's highly acidic. I can only handle about a cup or two of it at a time before it starts to wreak havoc with my system. Not to mention the fact that when two of three bosses make a pot of it, it looks more like tea than coffee.

I don't want to see the bottom of my cup through coffee. That just isn't right at all!
At any rate, this is my highlight of the week.
