Music on my Mind

Just some of my favorite rock and metal songs. I'll admit that I got the idea for the music thing from Noah's blog. I like the little music player more than searching through Youtube videos, a lot more. *Found a different player that works much better.

Kinda DisturbingOpera 9.5 Release PWNS!

AC\DC Hells Bells was the first tape I ever purchased in my life. I was aloud one tape at the music store and that was it. I had never heard of the band etc... Gees, I think I was 10 or something like that. Very good choice.

Ripp 11. June 2008, 03:47

Have you listened to Low Mans Lyric by Metallica on Reload??? That is a great song.

Casey² 11. June 2008, 03:53

:D Thank you. I like my classic rock. Hell's Bells is one of my favorites that they did. Highway to Hell and Back in Black are good, but not as good as this one.

I edited it and added Iron Buterfly's In-a-gadda-da-vida. I can't believe that I forgot to add that one earlier. Homer: Doh!

Casey² 11. June 2008, 04:11

I'm sure that I have, but I don't recall it. I will listen to it though and give an opinion.

Homer: Doh! I have heard it before. I agree- it is an awesome song. I've always like The Unforgiven 2. Nothing Else Matters is still my favorite of theirs though.

Melissa Renneberg 11. June 2008, 15:36

Don't forget TnT people :headbang:

Ripp 11. June 2008, 15:41

Those are both some of my most favorite songs from Metallica Homer: Doh! you almost have good taste when it comes to music

Casey² 11. June 2008, 15:44

TNT was good, but You Shook Me All Night Long was better. :D

Ripp 11. June 2008, 15:48

I have a lot of fond memories from those songs Homer: Doh! wow, I am old!

Casey² 11. June 2008, 15:53

 My mom still listens to it most of the time. She even got an mp3 player and joined the modern world.

Ripp 11. June 2008, 15:57

:eyes: the closest my parents came to the modern world is a computer; my mother is fairy quick but my father cant turn it on Homer: Doh!

Everytime I build myself a new gaming computer they get the older version; which, after a few years are still a much higher level than the everyday system of normal people.

Casey² 11. June 2008, 16:06

 Mom isn't too bad with technology, if you show her some things, give her some hints, and then leave her alone. Mom hates their Vista computer though. :D

I've been toying with the idea of biulding my own computer, but we'll see if I actually do it. It could be interesting what I come up with. :D

Ripp 11. June 2008, 16:12

Building your own system is quite easy and worth while. Parts are really cheap now and you can usually get a system that is 4-5 times better than an already built one. Hard drive speed etc... It does take a bit of reading because one needs to know what is worth while or not. Once you figure out who the larger brand names are for the parts the rest is cake.

Mother board stick with Asus or MSI

Processor; depends on how much bang for the buck you want

Ram can be a pain in the ass but there are quite a few that are matched to your mother board. Crucial is very good with that.

Video card is maybe the most reading and really comes down to you.

Hard drive; there is only one. Western Digital Raptors; or the velociraptor.

Poof you are done. Just put it in a case and add some screws.

Casey² 11. June 2008, 16:22

:eyes: Sweet! I'm pretty familiar with PC Mag and MaximumPC and they do have some great article on different hardware. I know one of my co-workers says he builds his own gaming computers, but he says that he can't get the BIOS to work, so he has a computer tech do it. What's true and what's crap, I don't know, but considering the fact that he can't put a truck into 4-wheel drive, I find it a tad hard to believe.

Ripp 11. June 2008, 16:30

I will give you an example. Last week I was redoing my brothers computer. I was working on his sata Hard drives etc... They need drivers to work with XP. They wouldnt accept the drivers from the HD manufacturor or the drivers off the motherboard so for hours and hours I kept changing bios settings etc... trying to get it to accept the drivers and load the OS onto the HD. Very frustrating. Then I took the motherboard drivers off my motherboard and used those instead; poof 20 minutes later the OS was installed and I was downloading service pack 3.

It wasnt me or what I was doing; the drivers on the motherboard and from the HD manufacturor were bad. I should have been smart enough to think of that before 6 hours of redoing what I knew I was doing right in the first place.

Certain things can be taken for granted and sometimes that causes you a lot more work than need be.

If you choose to do it; I will try to help as much as I can...

Casey² 11. June 2008, 16:42

:D That'd be awesome! It's easier if I have someone to bounce questions off of, even if you don't have the answer. I want to do something different since my HP desktop from 2005 is slowing down and I like to experiment. I'm pretty sure the hard drive is about to shit the bed before too awful long though. Homer: Doh!

In his case, it seems every computer has that problem, so I'm not sure if it's the hardware or him.

Melissa Renneberg 11. June 2008, 17:49

You know Casey its true ripp is right about bulding your own and it dose mean can save more money. I learn to bulding one in school part lunch time Comp club and looking back I glad I did. I go to swap meets to get my hardware and yes gameing Sys usely are faster then your normal desktop but come down what you want your computer for.

I brought Mac because to me there are by far the best thing for my creative juices to work on, For gameing there only one and that is PC and for OP sys there few around but Visa is crap and went back to XP.

Casey² 11. June 2008, 17:59

I'm definitely putting XP on it, instead of Vista. I might turn my old HP into a Linux box, but we'll see what happens. Right now I've got to make sure that I save the money for when I go up to Montana in July.

Melissa Renneberg 11. June 2008, 18:01

Maybe you can start collection plate around work hehe

Casey² 11. June 2008, 18:06

 It's not that bad, I just can't spend it on anything like computer parts, especially after the PS3.

Melissa Renneberg 11. June 2008, 18:14

:left: go to swap meet in short skirt then hehe

Casey² 11. June 2008, 18:18

 We don't have any swap meets around here. There are probably some over in Cheyenne 2 hrs away or, heaven forfend, Denver which is about 3.5 hours away. At the price of fuel I could probably order stuff online cheaper. :sst: I don't own any short skirts anyway.

Melissa Renneberg 11. June 2008, 18:21

 good reply, do you like Marilyn Manson any chance

Casey² 11. June 2008, 18:25

:D
Not really. He was just never my kind of musician.

Melissa Renneberg 11. June 2008, 18:26

 that so wrong well umm hmm he done some cool cover over the years

Casey² 11. June 2008, 18:29

 He has different ideas, but I liked Rob Zombie more.

Melissa Renneberg 11. June 2008, 18:43

Yeah and he differnt that why he stand out

Casey² 11. June 2008, 18:45

Very true. For some reason I just never clicked with his music though.

Ripp 11. June 2008, 19:41

Just shop at Newegg.com or Tigerdirect.com. They usually have hands down the best prices around.

Vista sucks for the basic home version but if you go with Ultimate version it is actually quite good. Once you learn how to disable the security shit features it works well. It has lots of driver improvements over XP which could make building the system easier for you.

Either way, when the time is right and you are interested I would be willing to help.

Off to class, later.

Casey² 11. June 2008, 20:06

I've heard of newegg.com and they do have some good prices. Vista Ultimate, huh? I may try that instead. I ought to have time around August or later, but we'll see. It sounds like I might get to go work in the field if crap keeps going the way it does with a few of our guys.

Ripp 11. June 2008, 22:37

work in the field; what do the crops need picking

Casey² 12. June 2008, 00:16

 I didn't know how else to phrase it. Help them dig near the pipeline and do whatever they do to maintain it. I think they're actually working on the block valves right now, but I'm not sure.

Ripp 12. June 2008, 02:14

:eyes: so you dont know what they are doing but you will be helping them  WOW, that sounds like the blind leading the blinder  a recipe for perfection

Casey² 12. June 2008, 02:37

 I might be helping them and thankfully they know what's going on and I just have to follow instructions. I think the boss that runs that crew (there are only 3 guys on the crew, including the boss) is waiting to see what one of the guys is going to do first before he decides to pull me in. :D It certainly keep me busy at any rate.

Ripp 12. June 2008, 03:24

 see what the other guy is going to do before pulling you in; :yikes: make sure you are wearing a life jacket... the water might be cold

Casey² 12. June 2008, 03:39

 They're up in Montana, so I think I can handle the water.

Melissa Renneberg 12. June 2008, 15:50

 Ultimate vista   NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo
I sorry I own Ultimate version of vista, Is still pure rubish, sorry Ripp yes Vista is an upgrade XP but dosnt mean its step forward to me frankly its make some more issues for me. There alot issue with visa and if you really want it casey I send you the copy I brought and you can play with it or make coffee place mat

Casey² 12. June 2008, 16:51

I'm going to test it if it's on any of the computers at one of the electronic stores like Circuit City, Office Depot, Staples, etc. If nowhere near here has it, Best Buy in Billings, MT ought to and I'm going to be around there fairly soon. I know that I don't like Vista's Home Basic, but I might like the Ultimate. We'll see. Before too long, I'd probably have to upgrade to it anyway, so I might as well do it on my terms.

Melissa Renneberg 12. June 2008, 16:54

 on your terms, Lov it when someone say that when it related to software, but depends what you want from your sys

Casey² 12. June 2008, 17:02

 Yeah, well, it was the truth. It rarely works out the way I want it to, but it's worth a shot. I'm not going to game on it, that's why I have a PS3 and an XBox, but I want alot more memory, and dual processors. I probably could upgrade my desktop, but I'm wanting to turn that into a Linux box.

Melissa Renneberg 12. June 2008, 17:13

Or you could throw it out the window and hope it hits your boss on his way home hehe

Casey² 12. June 2008, 17:21

 That's one idea. I love experimenting with tech just to see how it works. I don't really need to upgrade my computer or need it do a lot when I build one, I just want the satisfaction of, "Hey, I built that thing. " I have to admit that it would be beneficial to learn how to run Vista and become familiar with it, since most of the people I know want me to figure out what's wrong with their computers.

Melissa Renneberg 12. June 2008, 17:29

Yeah dont you just love when family ask you to take look at someone comp and you try fixing it and come cross little jimmy been looking up things what he shouldnt hehe

Casey² 12. June 2008, 17:32

 Actually my family doesn't ask me. My youngest sister is pretty decent with doing some stuff on there. I actually end up fixing a friend's computer(s) frequently. Homer: Doh! They should try actually using the antivirus scanner and the adware/malware scanners, they're not just for decoration. Homer: Doh!

Melissa Renneberg 12. June 2008, 17:39

Yeah, I know glard ya family dosnt ask you to do there friends

Casey² 12. June 2008, 17:42

I am too. Occasionally there's something my sis can't fix on there and they call me, but there isn't much that I can do since I'm in Nebraska and they're in Montana about 9.5 hours away.

Melissa Renneberg 12. June 2008, 17:54

Yeah just tell em get on there knees and pray hehe

Casey² 12. June 2008, 17:56

 My response is usually, well ask Cash if he'll help you. There's nothing I can do.

Melissa Renneberg 12. June 2008, 18:07

 this cash sounds like nice guy dose he have friend called cents too

Casey² 12. June 2008, 18:12

 His real name is Visa, he just prefers Cash. That btw, is his favorite joke about his name. Homer: Doh! As far as I know, he doesn't know anyone by the name of cents. Cash is a nice guy, goofy, but nice.

Melissa Renneberg 12. June 2008, 18:16

Hmm i fell threw ring of fire hehehe
