Me, Myself and I

About me

I am a Developer in a small non-profit financial company in a Microsoft-based operation. I am using ASP.NET, Exchange, SQL Server, Crystal Reports and Office. I hope to be able to further my programming experience and eventually get certified (other than insane ;) )

At home I am setting up a couple Linux boxes. I am setting up Edubuntu Thin Client Server so that all of the kids can be on the computer yet I still have only 1 system to maintain (that and my wife's Windows system, and my openSuse system... and now the laptop as well... so much for streamlining things!)

Developer in the Windows world, User in the Linux world. Guess that sums me up.

I am also a Fencer (with Epee.. a sword!) though I have never achieved a rank yet.

I have played table-top role-playing games (RPG) for more years than I'd care to think (since about 2nd grade... so about 29 years ago).

Though I have been creative most of while I was growing up, and 3 of my friends are in creative fields, I guess I would at best be considered an untrained artist though it has been so long since I've drawn or done anything creative. It takes a lot of energy and time to get into that mode of thinking, and I need to start back at square 2 (I remember enough to not go all the way back to square 1, but not by much ;) ).

My work

At work I spend most of my time developing reports in Crystal Reports, modifying pages in our ASP.NET intranet, maintain legacy items in MS Access.
