Aliaune Badara Akon Thiam, better known by his middle and stage name Akon (pronounced /ˈeɪkɒn/),[2] is a Senegalese-American R&B singer-songwriter, record producer, businessman, and philanthropist. He rose to prominence in 2004 following the release of "Locked Up”, the first single from his debut album Trouble. His second album, Konvicted, earned him a Grammy Award nomination of the single "Smack That". He has since founded two record labels, Konvict Muzik and Kon Live Distribution. He is one of the most succesfull & versatile R&B singers of the last decade. Akon often sings hooks for other artists and is currently accredited with over 200 guest appearances and 32 Billboard Hot 100 songs. He is the first solo artist to accomplish the feat of holding both the number one and two spots simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 charts twice.[3] He has had 6 Grammy Awards Nominations and has produced many hits for artist such as Lady Gaga, T-Pain, Leona Lewis and more.

Derülo was born September 21, 1989 and is a native of Miami, Florida. Derülo has been performing since the age of five and wrote his first song titled "Crush On You" at the age of eight. Derülo spent his youth studying opera, theater, and ballet. He attended Dillard High School for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is a graduate of the New York American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Lil Wayne was one of the associated acts to help Jason Derülo get his singing abilities off of the ground.
At the age of 12, Derülo met his manager and has since been writing songs for artists like Cassie, Pitbull, and Keyshia Cole among others since he was 16 and intent on becoming a solo performer.[1] After attending performing arts schools and honing his talents as a singer and dancer, Derülo won the grand prize on the 2006 season finale of the TV show "Showtime at the Apollo." Derülo was discovered by music producer J.R. Rotem, who signed him to his record label Beluga Heights and Warner Bros. Records.

Derülo broke into the scene with his single "Whatcha Say" It was released in June 2009 by Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. It is produced by J.R. Rotem with additional production by Fuego. It heavily samples the Imogen Heap song "Hide And Seek". It has been released to radio. On the issue date of August 30, 2009, the song debuted at number 54 on the Billboard Hot 100[2] and hit number 1.[3] As of October 6, 2009, the digital single sold 775,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.[2]
Derülo is currently working on his debut album, which is slated for release in the first quarter of 2010.

The Black Eyed Peas (BEP) is an American hip hop musical group based in Los Angeles. The group is composed of will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie. Since their album Elephunk in 2003, the group's hip hop/dance-oriented style has sold an estimated 29 million albums worldwide and 27 million singles. They scored their first worldwide hit with "Where Is The Love?" in 2003, which topped over ten charts worldwide.
Their next album "Monkey Business" was another worldwide hit, certified 3x Platinum in the US, spawning three hit singles "My Humps", "Don't Phunk With My Heart", and the European hit "Shut Up".
In 2009, the group is one of only eleven artists to have ever held the number 1 and 2 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time with their singles "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling", from the album "The E.N.D.", and the singles also topped the chart for an unprecedented 26 consecutive weeks in 2009.
Before Black Eyed Peas, will.i.am and apl.de.ap were in a group called The Atban Klann signed to Eazy E's Ruthless Records.

Shaffer Chimere Smith (born October 18, 1979), better known by his stage name Ne-Yo, is an American pop and R&B singer–songwriter, record producer, actor, and occasional rapper. Since his debut, Ne-Yo has had five top ten songs on the Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artist and two number-one albums on the Billboard 200. Ne-Yo has also amassed a catalog of chart-topping songs that he has written for other artists.
Ne-Yo broke into the recording industry as a songwriter, penning the hit "Let Me Love You" for singer Mario. The single's successful release in the United States prompted an informal meeting between Ne-Yo and Def Jam's label head, and signing a recording contract.
In 2006, he released his debut album, In My Own Words, which contained the US number one hit "So Sick". Then in 2007, he released his sophomore album, Because of You which contained the US top 3 hit, "Because of You". In 2008, he released his third album, Year of the Gentleman, which contained the top 10 hits "Closer" and "Miss Independent".

Tramar Dillard (born December 16, 1979), better known by his stage name Flo Rida (pronounced /ˌfloʊ ˈraɪdə/, from Florida), is an American rapper. As a teenager, he toured with local rap group 2 Live Crew.[1][2] Later, he appeared in numerous popular rap mixtapes and studio albums, most notably in We the Best in 2006. Mail on Sunday was Flo Rida's solo debut album; its first single "Low", featuring T-Pain which was a #1 hit for ten weeks in early 2008. Two other singles resulted from Mail on Sunday: "Elevator" and "In the Ayer". In 2009, his second album R.O.O.T.S. was released; its most successful single "Right Round" was at the top of the Hot 100 for six weeks. He so far spawned 6 top twenty singles in his career span on the Billboard Hot 100 chart within only 2 years.
