I Fell from the Moon

Don't worry ma'am. I'm from cyberspace.

Hitslink wierdness

, , ,

As a member of My Opera with a high search engine ranking I get a lot of visits from people whom really were looking for something else. Here are some of them:

MAKE MY NICK NAME 23 COLORS THE SAME TIME

OMG! YOU DIVIDED BY ZERO! OH SHI...

MINI FRIDAY CHAT WITH AN AVATAR FOR PHONE sony ericsson

Yeah. We all have our special fantasies.

what car will i have in the future

My plan for world domination is working! Muhuhuhahuau!

HOW DO U LOOK AT PEOPLES MUSIC PLAYER WHEN THEY HAVE IT HIDDEN

HOW DO I SHOT WEB? :alien:

bmw design trash can

This search came from "Ford Motor Company".
Look out for me in the next ad about "Ford vs. Car with trash can grill"! :D

chat rooms where you don't have to put a email adress in or a user name or a password and it's for kids and free and safe and you dont get an email from the one you have chosen

I'm pretty sure that's impossible. Because when it's without registration, all the pedophiles, douchebags and dorks gather there like flies to fresh poo.

I don't get that much weird stuff. Maybe I should start writing about different topics that I usually am

I get loads of this stuff. Mini Friday is a graphical chat application set in bars, for mobile users. It's crap.

Ace. I'm gonna rip off your post and make one about all my top search terms.

Ha, this is a pretty good idea. I get some real oddball hits, too. But ou know now that you've consolidated them all into one post, you're going to get even more of those hits now!

^ that's what I'm hoping for. Quite a few of the search terms reach posts that don't have answers. For example, people always want to know how they can change their Xbox Live gamertag - but the post they reach on my blog is about me having problems with mine.

I found a solution, so can post it, and hopefully they'll find that instead!

I'll have to do it at the end of the month though. I paid for a Hitslink account thing so I could see all my old stats and write the post... but it only shows detailed stats from when you paid. Sucks.

I've got people asking about "Handcuffs in hospital" from a hospital. People asking about "stalker horoscopes" was quite disturbing.

By Furie, # 9. September 2008, 10:04:41

And then there's the multitude of "Mik quest" and "Mik hunt" searchers. :insane:

1) make post about search terms to get more traffic and watch people filling your post even with more useful search terms

2) ???

3) profit

Quite cunning plan P:

anzah, unfortunately/fortunately* at the minute Opera Community and Profit from a user-perspective don't go together.

BritePic offer a nice way of monetizing any images you post.

Shame I'm not photogenic eh? Even in a bikini. I wouldn't mind sidebar ads though. I get a certain special interest group (phone geeks like me who have to have the latest thing) on my page regularly enough to set my hitslink alerts at unreachable levels and some targeted ads would go down a storm for my bank account.

lmao, wonder what kind of things ppl search for when they get my blog...lmao

You can see some of them if you check out statistics in your account. But you can only view one page of searches. I had to use a week to collect this information.

ooooooo ok

And I thought you paid for an account, drlaunch, like I did.

By coxy, # 19. November 2008, 09:29:29

People pay for things on the web? :eyes:

By Furie, # 19. November 2008, 10:34:38

avatar
No, just me. I pay/paid for Pownce, Flickr, Last.fm, Hitslink, my hosting at MediaTemple and my domains at 1and1.co.uk

There's money in the internet, I hear.

By coxy, # 19. November 2008, 11:14:50

Heh. Hard work can sometimes bring you just as much as a paid subscription to something.

But I'll pay if it's worth it.

By drlaunch, # 19. November 2008, 11:25:07

avatar
me too, Doc, if its worth it, i will pay for it, if not, i will take the free one, its just as good, and most times u get the full version free ne how...lol

Things used to be easier back in the old days. Bypassing security used to consist of finding out the right phone number to call. Not that I'd know...
