I discuss about Closed & Switched Tab with Mouse Gesture in the past, this time we'll try Hotkeys instead. By default, Opera allow us to use 1 & 2 single-key shortcuts to switch tabs, so I think it will be quite convenient if we can use Alt 1 & Alt 2 to Closed & Switched Tab...

A. Setup Hotkeys
1. First, go to Preferences (Ctrl+F12) > Advanced > Shortcuts > Keyboard Setup.
(& create a new keyboard setup, if you didn't do that already)

2. Next, double-click on a Keyboard setup you want to use, & select the Application section.

3. Then, hit "New" button to create a new shortcut & input: 1 alt & add action:
Close page & Switch to previous page. Hit Enter once.

4. Finally, hit "New" button again to create another new shortcut & input: 2 alt & add action:
Close page & Switch to next page. Hit Enter once & OK twice.

B. How It Works?
Now you can use both Alt 1 & Alt 2 to Closed & Switched Tab while still able to switch tabs with 1 & 2 without moving your hand.
