How to Save Specific Session Quickly?

, , ,

Some people group similar website together & save 'em as session, then they can revisit different group of websites separately without the need to keep a lot of inactive tabs opened all the time. However, there are no easy way to save/update specific session quickly with Opera... The only way is through the troublesome Save This Session routine by overwrite each session in order to keep 'em up-to-date before close window (or session). Now, I'm going to show you how to save current window as session with prefix NAME & close window at once, allow you to continue browsing the next window immediately...

A. Setup Menu for Save Session +
If you don't know how to edit menu setup, read this TUTORIAL before you proceed further...

1. First, open standard_menu (1).ini with text editor.
(Renamed standard_menu (1).ini to something else to prevent Opera from overwrite it)

2a. Next, search for [Document Popup Menu] section & add this line under it:
Submenu, Save Session +, Custom Save Session Menu

2b. Add above line under [Browser Session Menu] section to add File > Sessions > Save Session +

3. Then, create a new section with this code:
[Custom Save Session Menu]
Item, M_BROWSER_FILE_MENU_SESSIONS_SAVE_SESS=Save window setup
--------------------1
Item, "X"=Save window setup & Insert, "X" & Focus next widget & Uncheck item & Focus next widget & Check item & Click default button & Delay, 50 & Close window
Item, "X"=Save window setup & Insert, "X" & Focus next widget & Uncheck item & Focus next widget & Check item & Click default button & Delay, 50 & Close window
Item, "X"=Save window setup & Insert, "X" & Focus next widget & Uncheck item & Focus next widget & Check item & Click default button & Delay, 50 & Close window
Item, "X"=Save window setup & Insert, "X" & Focus next widget & Uncheck item & Focus next widget & Check item & Click default button & Delay, 50 & Close window
Item, "X"=Save window setup & Insert, "X" & Focus next widget & Uncheck item & Focus next widget & Check item & Click default button & Delay, 50 & Close window
X = Save Session with NAME.

4. After that, replace the X with desired NAME (e.g. NEWS, SPORTS, GAMES) & then saved the document when you're done. You can add more Custom Save Session command under [Custom Save Session Menu] by duplicate the command & replace X with desired NAME.

5. Finally, Fire-up Opera & select the newly modified menu setup in Opera to apply the changes you just made. Now, you should be able to access Save Session + from Context menu.

B. Buttons/Shortcuts for Save Session +
After setup [Custom Save Session Menu], you can summon it with buttons & shortcuts too!

C. How It works?
Right-click on any empty space to access Save Session + from Context menu. The 1st command will save session as usual, NAMEs after the separator are Custom Save Session command which allow you to save current window as session with prefix NAME.
