Page Bar vs Window Cycle List

,

One mystery I can never figure out about Opera is why both Page bar & Window Cycle List (WCL) are enabled by default? What's the purpose of this setup? I only need the WCL during Full Screen mode (without Page bar), but I don't need it when the Page bar is present in the window mode! So, I came up with a few tricks to enable WCL during Full Screen mode, & disable it quickly during window mode. cheers

A. Setup Shortcuts
1. First, go to Preferences (Ctrl+F12) > Advanced > Shortcuts > Mouse/Keyboard Setup.
(& create a new mouse/keyboard setup, if you didn't do that already)

2. Next, double-click on a Mouse/Keyboard setup you want to use, select Application section.

3. Finally, create/modify a shortcut with your preferred MG/Hotkey with one of these actions:

Toggle WCL in page bar order
Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=1" > Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=2"
Toggle Full Screen & WCL in page bar order
Leave fullscreen & Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=2" > Enter fullscreen & Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=1"

Toggle Page bar & WCL in page bar order
View page bar & Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=1" > View page bar, 6 & Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=2"

B. Setup Menu
If you don't know how to edit menu setup, read this TUTORIAL before you proceed further...

1. First, open the standard_menu (1).ini with text editor.
(Renamed standard_menu (1).ini to something else to prevent Opera from overwrite it)

2. Next, find [Document Popup Menu] section, then add one of the following line under it:

Toggle WCL in page bar order
Item, Enable WCL=Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=1" > Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=2"
Toggle FULLSCREEN & WCL in page bar order
Item, Full Screen + WCL=Enter fullscreen & Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=1" > Leave fullscreen & Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=2"
Toggle Page bar & WCL in page bar order
Item, Page Bar + WCL=View page bar, 6 & Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=2" > View page bar & Set preference, "User Prefs|Window Cycle Type=1"

3. When you're done, save & close the document. Select the newly modified menu setup in Opera to apply the changes you just made. That's it!

C. How It Works?
1st command will let you toggle WCL ON/OFF quickly.
2nd command will go into Full Screen mode with WCL, & exit Full Screen with WCL disabled.
3rd command let you switch browsing method quickly by toggle both Page bar & WCL at once...

Yes. You just need to create a custom menu in the menu.ini & then add a submenu entry in the appropriate context menu to access the custom menu. Please refer to my other tutorials which using custom menu as references:
